    I've just done 55km in mine, in less than 2 weeks. Really really loving it. Snug and comfortable. Yes, it's loud and a bit squeaky, but damn soft and excellent energy return. And yes, allowed me to run faster. Really did. The best part, my legs hurt significantly less after long runs. I'm all in.

    Great video. I’m relatively new to running so these are probably a bit too advanced for me but I’m very tempted just because of the extra cushioning. I’m running in some old peg36 and I always have aching shins the next day.
    The numbers you posted are absolutely baffling to me, I can make it 5k on an average of 5mins/k and I’m at my limit, but I’ll keep pushing

    • @chrisguess

      If you are new at it I probably wouldn’t recommend them, they do work you pretty hard. I certainly know when I’ve been running in them. Maybe try one of the other react/zoom X foam shoes. Don’t worry about your pace too much it will come with time.

      Thanks.
      I would have to agree, I have used various cameras when filming myself running. Everything from a GH5 to insta360 Go and several different GoPro’s in between. I always operate as a one man band so bulkier cameras are really a pain. In all honesty I prioritise the run over the capture of it, but I’m not done experimenting. If you check out some of my other videos you will probably see the various levels of quality when it comes to the running footage.
      Thanks for watching, I always appreciate the feedback 👍🏻

    I have just achieved a personal best in the Tempo running 1/2 marathon, and I'm now gearing up for a full marathon next month. I'm contemplating running in the Tempo's again as they fit my foot snugly and feel light and powerful, propelling me forward with each stride. In my experience, the Tempo is the fastest running shoe I've ever worn. I also own a pair of Vaporflys but I don't get the same sensation when running in them. My only issue is the Tempo's are showing wear on the left outside rear corner of the shoe. The black rubber is worn down to the white cushion, and I only have 150 miles on them. The right shoe shows a little sign of wear, but nothing close to the wear I see on the left. Typically I wear the toe portion of my shoe but not in this case.

    • @chrisguess
      @chrisguess  Рік тому

      I ran my first marathon in the tempos last year and I’m so glad I did. I too have a pair of vaporflys but I just find them so uncomfortable. The tempos performed great and I had no blisters. I ran a total of 1522km (945 miles) in my first pair before I retired them. Mine also wore in the same place but held up remarkably well after the initial wear.

    BUT like you, all my runs are 15-20secs/km faster !!

    I've had mine for a couple weeks and have about 62 miles on them, so they're perfectly broken in while still feeling new, my school is having an alumni 1600 race in 2 days (current and former runners from the school) my current PR for the 1600 is a 5:12, would I be best running in my new balance track spikes, or in my tempo next %s? I ran in them for a road 5k a week ago and set a 24 second PR with a 17:59 but I don't know ow if the bounce would be a bit much for the track surface or if I should stick to my traditional spikes

    • @chrisguess
      @chrisguess  2 роки тому

      That’s a good question. I’m not much of a track runner, but I would assume the spikes would still be faster.

    Just wondering I used to use the tempo back then and it was really good, however I switched to Alphafly since unlike the tempo it doesn't have that bridge in the sole covering the pods. Since when I used my tempo that bridge part broke. I was wondering if mine was just defective or if you had any experience in this?

    Nice video. Like your content and for mat.
    The shoe. It is a purpose shoe. For training. Used with a Pegasus and Vaporfly. So for competitive runners only. I'm not sure they would be suited to be worn as a "lifestyle mostly" shoe. YOu said you could walk in them comfortably?? REally?? OTher reviewers said you'd feel all the shoe tech and would bother you if worn for walking or cashaul running...that they only reward you when you're at speed.
    Priced where they are they do seem inticing for someone who owns a ppair of Pegasus' and wants a "faster" shoe. They're "only" $70.00 (CDN) more than a pair of "By You" Peg 39's. VS the Vaporfly's at Over $400 CDn.
    If you're a competitve runner and are looking for a training shoe to add to your rotation THEN the Tempo would be worth considering IMHO. Casual runner/jogger? Peg 39 at most. If not the Winflo 8. Or most of the other more affordable $100 (CDN) runners. Even the Peg's might be overkill for someone that's more into a "lifestyle" shoe. and does casual jogging for "personal fitness (not competitive)". Probably wouldn't notice the difference in the "shoe TECH" in the Pg shoes...walking /standing around or doing casual jogging around the block.

    I'm very conflicted about getting these shoes I tried them on in a store and walked away thinking they were quite narrow at the back and very snug. I want a fast pace shoe other than my gliderides which I love but they are a bit slow and heavy. I am not a fast runner my average would be around 5 min per km would these suit me? A lot of people online don't like them and a lot do and I'm afraid I'm not fast enough for them would you recommend them for someone like me

    • @chrisguess
      @chrisguess  2 роки тому +1

      I have reasonably narrow feet so not something I noticed. I would always prefer a snug fit (within reason) over a loose one to avoid rubbing. These are light and fast so I would expect your pace to improve, although you get out what you put in with these. Personally these are my all time favourite running shoe so I would recommend them but they may not be for everyone.

    It didn't allow me to go further, instead it gave me a blister on the back of my heel after 2km run. Part of it my fault for wearing ankle socks, but also their back support is very stiff and has rough texture which constantly rub against my skin. I know there is a cushion which supposedly prevent that, but it didn't help much. It also takes time to get used to the way you run. The shoe is designed for toe/forefoot lander rather than heel lander. With that said, if you keep land on your heel, you won't feel much of difference than pegasus and won't take the benefit of the zoom pod which the premium price you paid for. Durability is also questionable for the price as the traction pad is very thin and it will wear out quickly which then exposes the zoom pod. This isn't based on my experience but have seen from other youtubers. Apart from all the negative views above, once you get used to the shoes, it actually feels comfortable and pushes you forward. But I eventually swapped it with a Vaporfly and all the problem I mentioned was solved.

    • @chrisguess
      @chrisguess  2 роки тому +1

      I think they are a bit of a marmite shoe. They are definitely suited to a forefoot striker, which I am. I’ve had no issues with rubbing/ blisters. However After using these for some time I got the alphafly and man those things are so uncomfortable to me despite the similarities. So it for sure comes down to personal preference. If you look at reviews for that shoe they are the best shoe any runner could were ever! As for durability, I agree it’s not great, although I still wear mine some 1200k later, they are however completely trashed.
