I’ve been using the custom title quite a lot, but because of that annoying build out bug, I haven’t used the animations so much. I didn’t realize I could fix the bug by myself. Thanks for the tip. Now I’ll go fix that bug 😄
wow ... this is great ... did not realize how useful this title is and also thanks for the fix ... so much more useful ... now if we only could see "presets" for different settings ... will make a few different "versions" and put those in my "template" sequence in my template project ... cheers

Some advice for Dylan/who wants to take it.. If you want the laptop to be 16x9 aspect ratio for youtube. Hook it up to a 16x9 monitor.. 1080p.. or 4k. and set up OBS or whatever you use for screen recording for that monitor size. Make sure the FPS is set to 60 FPS as that is the FPS on most Macbooks nowadays, so whatever the screen recording doesnt stutter or glitch out on you. 👍🏼

Just playing with the setting on this I wandered if anyone has managed to figure out what the "Custom" option on the "In speed" does? It'd sure be nice to have futher control of this. Also just thought I'd add when changing the marker in Motion I'd reccomend selecting "in optional" for both in and out markers. It creates a tickbox where you can just deselect the entire build in/out feature.

Sure, just double-click your footage in FCPX, and this will split the audio and video in two independent timelines. Then you can trim your video to your liking without affecting the audio, and add titles wherever you need. You can also add a colored background, or some other background design, if you'd rather have something other than black.
Great video as always. I rarely if ever animate things out. When elements are first introduced to the screen, it makes sense to give them some pizzazz. You want viewers to notice them. It's new information. However, when you're taking them off the screen, the last thing you usually want is for them to get attention. The viewer is bored with them by this time, and the last thing I want to do is capture their eye one more time just for them to disappear.

This was really helpful, plus the add on fix using Motion helped not only with the title but also with learning Motion.
