I agree! Kind of shocked this was only 30 minutes, I learned so much.
Despite having used final cut Pro for several years, I decided to watch this video and 20 minutes in I have learned a number of new things. Sometimes it is fantastic to go back to basics. I'm sure others new and seasoned to FPC will very much appreciate this tutorial. i joined your patreon recently and have found it to be amazing.. Thank you!!

Great overview 😊
Just the wisdom I needed! Thank you! I will review it until it is second nature. 🎉

Thank you so much Dylan!
Very helpful! Subscribed.
I’m embarrassed that I’ve used FCPX for like three years now and always struggled with comprehending library and events. Your library and book analogy finally made it click for me! Just needed it in terms a nerd like me understands I guess! Great video!
Thanks man! I was about to quit FCP and moving back to premiere pro, but you made me take U-Turn
I joined your Patreon yesterday and purchased Motion Tools. Thanks for all that you do for the community. Your efforts are indeed appreciated.
Appreciate you so much! Lots more patreon stuff coming soon, as a ramp up after the holidays.
Hey Dylan, thanks for all the training, and keep up the good work. I have a question. Is there a way to rearrange the way that my plug-ins show up in the Titles? I want to rearrange my Motion VFX plug-ins so that the ones I use all the time will be on top, and maybe rearrange all of the ones I use all the time to be on top. I think I can rename them, but I don't want to break anything, or set off any alarms, as if I am tampering with the plug-ins. Thanks for your help.
Hi Dylan. I have been laboring on Adobe Pro and have had modest success with Adobe Rush. Also, Davinci Resolve is supposed to be very powerful. I have not delved into it yet and after watching your video, I am wondering if I should even bother. Not only does Final Cut seem extremely intuitive as most Apple products do but your delivery and attention to detail along with your energy is contagious. Thank you so much!!!
Excellent
Ahhhh... I know FCP pretty good but this is such a good refresher for 2024! Watched the whole thing. Thank you!
Excellent and comprehensive video though it left me breathless . . . I don't know about you! I just about managed to keep up with it but I have been using FCP X since its inception in 2011. I would suggest that beginners need to be adept at pausing and rewinding. You have certainly covered a tremendous amount of the essential procedures.
thanks
Thanks a lot.
important knowledge! thx
Apple Motion next!
Definitely in the works!
@@TheFinalCutBro I need to start my podcasts but I don't know how to edit them kindly let me know which course should I pick you have 4 which one for me.
Dude ... I make talking head vids and have literally never used the color board before 😅 I'm not a beginner on FCP but this video was still worth watching. Thanks
Hah that’s amazing! You must just nail the colors in camera as a good filmmaker should. 👊👊
Have you thought about doing a tutorial on how you arrange your files and folder structure for Final Cut Pro?
You’re the best!
Great video. A question: In new project settings, the rendering option is selected Prores 422. Does this option affect the export quality of the project? I'm using 10bit XAVC footage and shooting in LOG. Thank you
Danke😘
Great 👍 👌
Hi sir Why should this come always There is not qnough ectra media beyond clip edges to create the transition
mommy raised a good boy. 🤙🏾🤙🏾🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳 just wished you moved the cursor a bit slower but ill keep rewinding its fine 🤙🏾
May I ask what Mac are you using?
hello👋 i have learned about keyframing now (3 days into owning this software), so i can do the 'animated' zoom, the exposure drop keyframing, x/y/z positional keyframing and other basics like this - but is there a way to exponentially/logarithmically/other waveform curve apply some type of 'modulation' to a keyframing effect?
so like - 'as video progresses each second, increase the x position by twice as many units as the previous transition' - is this possible with final cut?
*twice as many units (so for like x/y/z position, unit would just be numbers), as the previous second in which the same effect was applied, and then keep doing this each second; the other channel ghosted all my questions so i am setting up my video editing home base here haha
Is there a part 2?
deleting a clip after using blade tool always leaves a blank gap clip at that place. how to overcome this problem, please?
There’s a chance you’re hitting the “Delete” key instead of the “backspace” key. Try the other key and see if that helps!
Can u please go in more depth with cine studio?
Definitely would love to make some more videos about it soon!
@@TheFinalCutBro okay cool I can’t not wait… I don’t care if it’s a hour long
Help! I need your help Final Cut bro! I have a damaged library I looked all over the internet and I can’t find a solution and I can’t find the original media files to put back on there but it’s other projects on there as well how can I fix I need to turn in this project tomorrow !
Final Cut Pro regularly makes backups of your projects. You can find those in Movies > Final Cut Backups. You might lose a small amount of progress, but that’s much better than losing everything!
If you’re missing media, you might want to check that all your hard drives are properly connected. You can find the file path of a missing file by selecting your project, then going up to File > Relink > Original Media. Then clicking on the clips that are missing will tell you where they were originally at the bottom of the window.
First off thank you for the response! Ive checked the usual suspects but to no avail. It's the actual library that's damaged and I think it's due to the hard drive not copying correctly. It shows the 600gb library file but it jus keeps giving me the error'

@Dylan Bates: (You forgot to mention if you are available for hire for video editing.)
Can you give those plugins?
They’re all linked in the description! The ones seen in this video are my “Pro Zooms” plugin. Hope that helps!
holy hell. none of this is intuitive. long gone are the days where a guy can just "figure it out"
Not for a quick and dirty UA-cam Video. How about quick and dirty?
