Prayers from Florida! I survived Irma, but the days leading up to the storm were more nerve-wracking than the storm itself! And listening to the media only made it worse. Try to just get updates from true weather sources like the weather channel and NOAA.

Hold on. It was still south of Hector's track last I looked about 2 hours ago.
It turned south at 10:00AM briefly for an hour then swung sharp north (North minus 15º) until 15:00hrs then turned 75º degrees due west (minus 5º degrees). For an hour. At 19:00hrs (a few minutes ago) it was still south of Hector's track. Lane is at 15º30'N and Hector's track is at 16º10N. So Hurricane Lane is 0º40'N south of Hector's track. It is directly south of Hawaii Island and is about 58% passed. IE it has passed the center. The eye is 408.92km (254.09 miles) south from the Island. 445.11 miles from Honolulu. 512 miles from Kauai. 541.64 miles from Ni'ihay Island.

I live in Hawaii and no one is sure where its headed yet. They have not given the information yet. We are all waiting for the exact path at 5pm although there will still be an error in the track. The Hurricane was at 160mph sustained winds a couple hours ago. It decreased to 155mph.
Any storm going over 157+ mph is considered a category 5.
Maybe it will put out the volcano? 😀

The Volcanos rose from 4,000 meters below sea level. So 4,000 meters of sea water didn't put out the earths molten lava. So a little rain may just steam. But no way has it the ability to put it out. But as far as I know lava stopped flowing from fissue 8 earlier this month.

Nigel Johnson I'm Puerto Rican and I can tell you for a fact that the delayed response has nothing to do with inadequacy of the United States government, or the president to provide relief. Puerto Rico is not a state. It's a U.S. territory. Puerto Rico had only voted 3 months prior to be a state when Maria hit. 2 of my family members lost their homes in that storm. With Puerto Rico being a territory, the money has to be appropriated by Congress whereas States can get direct funding through FEMA. That's why the response has been delayed. Once Puerto Rico is confirmed as a state, then they can get more funding.

@Thex Left if that's what you got out of your vacation here than you didn't fully enjoy Hawaii. Sucks for you! And what I meant to say was best place to live in the u.s. and unfortunately many of the homeless are brought here from the mainland. as for violence and just straight inhumane humans not so much, the last shooting I heard of was done by a black guy from Chicago SMH. But the local people in Hawaii is by far perfect we have issues too. And with your attitude you didn't appreciate the landscape, weather, nature, the beautiful beaches and peacefulness of it all.
