Know what I love and miss about the islands? Notice the genuine care expressed for his well being by the county worker? Good community oriented people! Hope they all get power back soon. So glad it wasn't a full blown hurricane that hit at least!
Prayers to these good people who live there 🙏🙏
Thank God it will be nowhere near the devastation that happened after the Democrats lit Maui up with that high energy laser weapon
I live in Mt. View, hurricane Iselle was worse. Our power was out for over 24 hours. Poor Helco, spectrum, and State workers trying their best to get services back on during the storm. Mahalo plenty!
Great news coverage, but when the water is raging, don’t go near it or park on a bridge that can get easily wiped out.🤙🏽
Prayers for Hawaii!
@@JaToriaV thank you i am from hawaii
Be careful you know better than anyone else stay away from rushing water especially when you are not from here you and your crew are still visitors thank you for your videos on the Big Island in Hilo stay safe
God bless
I can't believe that he went down into the rushing water and was standing on that bridge! That has to be the dumbest thing I've ever seen a news reporter do! No need to to call the first Responders when you put yourself in danger! 🤦🏾♀️
This rain event seems to be over dramatized.
Rain events? Hilo boy? Boy u live here. We was without power out here in Honokaa for many hours morning of Saturday till midday. Areas got impacted in different ways and did you forget that it strengthened to one hurricane as it passed by nearly 100 miles away? We get 2 more systems heading our way and if you like say these things are over dramatized then go ahead cuz. Cause you and so many other people who always say “it’s just rain it’s just rain it’s normal it’s Hawaii”… it’s always “just rain” until it’s not. Then you guys gon be like how come they neva tell us? Brah. That’s what we get the news for stay informed and be prepared not scared. Sorry for rant brah but so many local people no take these things seriously. Rather be prepared and little happen then not be prepared and something big happen.
@@rylans.5365 you sound new to our islands. when you try an talk like one local we can tell you just moved here. don't play pretend.
@@rylans.5365 You must be new. Looking at your uploads i think i might be right. Don't play games we can see right through the smoke screens.
@@MicahOta ? I was born and raised in Hilo. Hawaiian blood. Not playing pretend just trying to inform. If I don’t sound local doesn’t mean I’m not from here.
@@robaina4173 what do my uploads have to do with this? That was years ago and I was obviously younger.
Sending love hugs & prayers 💝🤗🙏
Living here on the East side, it wasn't nearly as bad as the previous hurricane for us we're used to a lot of rain here.
I lived in Hilo years back.never saw anything like that. Sorry Hilo, you are good people. Hope this will pass quickly, you are safe.
Thank you so much for the Hawaii weather! You did a great job.
Stay strong Hilo ❤
This is happens every year!!!!!!!
Everybody be safe!
That was a good Hawaiian telling u don't drive through that
over sensationalizing this
Stop it!
@@paulazajac9155 i know right? Stop over sensationalizing this.
They really came to see the hurricane ignite fires in West Hawaii.
In Kona we were very lucky. We have a bunch of mountains that separate us from East Hawai'i. We were prepared, but nothing really wild happened. I didn't even hear rain on my tin roof last night. Sending prayers to Hilo!
Stay safe anyone
Good coverage Robert….. I live in Honoka’a and it was bad…gusty wind, heavy rain and so foggy…..as Hone leaving the island , the tail end of the storm was very intense…and to top it off the electricity power off. No power from 4:30am to11:30 am Sunday morning . Hates off the the amazing Helco team…god blessed for their efforts and they being safe….
prayers for them. i live in the Caribbean and know their pain
I was born and raised in Hawaii and heavy rains with tropical storms in the summer while can be challenging keeps things green. By June things are drying out but the typical summer rains greens things up and fills our reservoirs. The biggest problem we’re having with the rains is during the 1990’s almost all of the sugar plantations closed and they used to handle the ditches up in the mountains. They’d open them all up prior to big storms and allow the flooding to be spread out over the island. Now they’re not allowing the flooding to be concentrating in certain spots. I have a six inch rain gauge outside my house and on bigger storms I’ve emptied it multiple times in one day.
The drama in this is so funny. We get 150" of rain a year so this storm was just another day in Hilo. The power lineman who have been working tirelessly for 2 days are.unsung heroes though
Agree. It flooded where it always floods.
Hawaii is a disaster, the state and county government is why, not some rain.
Oahu didn't even get wet 😅 this weather is normal here in Hawaii, the dramatization by the news is the real spectacle
except that this isn't Oahu. they will need federal funds to repair the roads. I lived there 3 years, those roads are already sketchy.
Absolutely what a S...show!!!!!!!
I pray all is well
🙏 for all. What happens to all the homeless people and animals , during a weather catastrophe?
black sandbeaches? whete are you? Pahoa? Wheres photos of Hilo?
watch the video.
@sashanealand8315 pay attention.... he clearly explains where he's going🙄 he was trying to get to south point but road was flooded so he went to punaluu really fast instead... lmk when you usually drive so I make sure to stay off the roads.. because you obviously don't pay any attention
He’s in Ka’u. We got smashed with lots of rain and it always tears up our roads, both highway and backroad was flooded. Be safe everyone. Aloha, Hawaii-Big Island-Ka’u-Naalehu🤙🏼
My prayers is with you all❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😊😮
Where you had to turn around is called Kawa Flats. It always floods during rain storms and closes the highway. No big deal for locals in the area who deal with this on a regular basis.
Over all the east side of the Big Island can handle the heavy rainfall. The runoff from the mountain eventually empties into the Wailuku River which flows through downtown Hilo.
If Kona on the west side of the island got this kind of rainfall there would be major flooding from the runoff upslope of the populated areas. Fortunately most of the T.S. & hurricanes come the eastern pacific. So the eastern side of the island gets the brunt of the rainfall.
Love the raw video, it was like being on a ride along! Amazing to see all this like that! Great job!!!
Love to see this without the huge banner Fox puts at the bottom half of the video.
Shot not up here on Oahu, Wahiawa we safe from the strom. That's not even bad it's good for the forest/wildlife/AINA
Should have gotten videos of rainbow falls.. You really can see before and after
A little RAIN is the most severe thing that happens here! No tornados, full force hurricanes, severe floods, homes floating away. Gives the News stations something to do!
A home floated down some ways in the Waiakea drainage channel in November 2000 - but we had a lot more rain then that with this system.
Be Safe . Hawaii..
Too dangerous. Glad you were careful!
Oh my gosh people who live in Hilo hope your safe all of you guys who live in hilo
😮stay safe god loves you all❤❤❤
Great reporting !
Those poor people whose homes are being flooded & ruined. Most poorer people in Hawaii cannot afford any home insurance, whatsoever.

Wow..
This is a prime example of why more people need to get more prepared and think about "Emergency Preparedness Management" for both your home and vehicles. I am a UA-camr under my Full-Name with the same profile picture as this post with 47 videos covering 27 different category topic subjects sharing my personal knowledge and experiences with others to help others improve their overall adult lives. I've got videos on building yourself a high quality 24-72 Hour Survival Bug Out Bags, Home and Vehicle Preparedness and Readiness advice videos, several Financial Literacy advice videos, a dozen Cooking Creation Recipes videos, and more! That flooded area should also consider looking into Aqua Dams and Dam Easy door barriers products.
That flooded area doesn't have a town in it. I know of one house that got flooded, and that wasn't mentioned in this video. Most of the people who live here are probably better prepared than most people elsewhere. This also is earthquake country, and those come without warning.
Maybe new power poles were needed and the storm helped Hawaii .
Me so HONE😮
He should stay away from the running water its dangerous 🙏🏻
You can sure about the people of Maui was praying for a rainstorm like this after the Democrats hit them with that high energy laser weapon
My maiden name is Hone! Sorry, Hawaii!
Glad I don't live there
Help them out there
Maybe mega billionaire Oprah Winfrey will come out and ask for donations. Just like she did when everyone in the middle of the island she lives on was burnt to death or at least their homes destroyed while hers didn't even get a scorched lawn
Help them out
