I love designs with the spacing in the armor, I have always been annoyed by how the deformation of an armor block can cause the ones around it to deform a bit as well, which is almost like getting a damage bonus especially from missile blasts. The spacing prevents the deformation from being transmitted to inner layers and reduces the amount of armor you need, letting you shed some weight while getting about the same amount of protection. Functional and aesthetic, someone put a ton of time into it.
the whole ship is very cool, also quite a good armament. the separate design of torpedo can help it deal more damage in my experience. the front part as AP and the part behind as HE. The front AP part to punch a hole on the amour so the HE part can explode inside the ship. IF there is no separate design, the warhead will either triggered on the surface the amour, or damaged and doesn't work even it penetrate.
Missile is great. Its will penetrate heavy armour modules. Like, heavy armour, gyros and heavy armour. With welders and buildandrepair. Its is stopped by the second armoured hull. The fact it is embedded in the primary hull makes this a pain. The buildand repair has to grind it down before the projection is welded. Thus weakening the armour for a long time. You don't need to be genius to notice that you have practically zero chance to hit anything what move and its laughable PDC defense did take out those torpedoes, at least first time (average ship has at least twice of that, not mentioning even proper Escorts). That on top of cool looking, but slow construction of torpedoes. It has good acceleration but you don't win battles just with running and probably a f@ gunboat would have 50/50 chance to win direct confrontation. Because again, good acceleration but lack of decent Point Defense and it is clearly only Light Armour. Only positive I can say about this ship is that it look cool, as creator clearly didn't know nothing, either about game of SF combat tactic.
Beautiful ship aesthetically, love the spaced armor which is a tres awesome choice from a functionality perspective. My only winges against it is the spaced design down the central line of the ship which opens up into a torpedo bay. Whilst I firmly respect the kinetic torpedo bay on a battleship, the choice of placement atop the split protection for thrust has made a massive weak spot down the central face forward design. The fact all the fixed armaments are front-faced instead of broadside designed means the ships gonna be exposing its weak spot to direct fire in combat... I sense the ship might get 'sploded long before anyone will ever bother trying to cripple it's thrust. That said the protection to the thrusters is spot on and well done (even though I'd never use hydro power in a frontline combattant. Grav drive or go home if you need zippy acceleration). But I worry not enough thought to survivability for the ships internal systems was done. Thrust tucked under the hull will certainly make for survivability when it comes to thrust, in all its clear the designer has actually seen pvp combat. But didn't really account for the split hull design creating a terminal weakness when coupled with the kinetic weapon bay. Hidden control systems not in an obvious ships bridge is a major plus though, kudos to the designer for that. This ship would do better with broadside fixed missile armaments...because a kinetic torpedo is only good when you got the element of surprise on your side, and you will want to protect that weak spot by turning your spaced armor into the line of fire in actual combat, making this a perfect design for putting up broadside fixed gun emplacements. In all though, there's some really good design choices from a pvp perspective, but its achilles heel is worrisome in pitched battle. At least with the tucked away jump drives and the well protected thrust it should be able to make short-jump repairs in combat (if one installs a welding repair system into it) and thus maintain its survivability...or, at the very least it can get away when the limitations of torpedo's as a main armament rears its head. I'd use this as a hit and run heavy hitter on large slow moving or stationary targets. This will not make for a good slug-out vessel, even if it may take a few hits fairly well as long as you don't face your enemy head on. Use it for hit and run tactics, it will do VERY well from that angle of play. Without a decoy defense system, and the weak spot in its armor being down the planes of first contact in combat, don't stay in pitched battle for long. One well placed shot down the central plane of this vessel breaching torpedo bay and possibly hitting its hydro tanks is a dead ship in the making.
