  • @HelloSadness101

    Theory Corner:
    How to Get Ahead in Advertising was based on Peter Boyle. As a young man he grew a boil on his forehead, and it caused his head to DOUBLE in size. When making the film it was decided to be more engaging if the boil grew on the neck as a separate head. Peter then took the stage name “Boyle,” as a tribute.
    Don’t fact check this or even make sure the timeline adds up, cos I ain’t listening. Good day, sir.
    I SAID GOOD DAY.

    I believe Matt in the intro is attempting to refer to the Massachusetts Turnpike (Or the Mass-Pike as locals call it) Wasted so much of my gosh darned time on that crowded stretch of asphalt. So glad I live in New York now where at least my commute delays mean I'm stuck in a cramped subway car in an underground tunnel as opposed to my own car.

    I agree with your thoughts on the second part of 'IT' guys. I was hoping they would fix the ending, because it always bothered me and didn't make any sense. I liked that they updated the monsters and some of the scares too. I dunno. I guess the moral of the story is don't do coke and drink copious amounts of beer when trying when trying to write an ending to your horror novel. Because somehow you end up in space with a galactic sea turtle and a giant spider thing :P

  • @tazmon122
    @tazmon122 5 років тому +1

    alright, an episode with Boston, i'm so ready for all the.....oh, i guess you're not gonna poke at all the Boston stereotypes? cool i guess.
    btw Craig, I90 is east/west. by the time you get to "the end" you've already gone through most of Boston, so the turn-off onto 93 where you would "go left" is halfway past Chinatown. your directions only account for 1/6 of Boston. i think Matt was thinking about 93, cuz it's further east than 95. 95 north in the morning, it's bumper-to-bumper traffic from Braintree (2 towns south of Boston) into the city. 95 south in the evening same deal. commuters. it's called the Braintree split.
    I90 is just the Massachusetts Turnpike, or Masspike for short.

    Seen It?
    The hilariously bad Maximum Overdrive, the only film directed by Stephen King who openly admitted to being far too coked up during filming,
    Or
    Smoke Signals, a wonderful film and at times a painfully accurate portrayal of growing up on the Coeur D'Alene rez. Also, it's probably the only major film to have an all native production team!

    I would say the ending to IT the book really only makes sense within the context of the extended King universe. Series like the Dark Tower and books like The Talisman and Dark House shed a lot of light on the meaning of IT. Its extremely esoteric and I understand how it makes absolutely no sense to people who arent massive King fans.

    Great show as always! I was interested to hear your thoughts on IT. If you’re not scared in the woods at night after seeing a horror movie... was it really a horror movie? Also, seen it- ‘Not Quite Hollywood’? It’s a bizarre documentary, featuring Quentin Tarantino, about Ozploitation movies of the 70s and 80s. As fans of Mad Max and (to a lesser extent) BMX Bandits, you might enjoy the ride!

    Different Seasons contains the novellas that both The Shawshank Redemption and Stand By Me were based on. Two of my favorite movies, and two of my favorite pieces of King writing. And the movies are pretty much word for word what King wrote in the novellas. But neither of them got a mention? Instead you called out Apt Pupil??? I refused to pay money to see it because of how incredibly lame the Novella was.
