Quick real-life Stryper story: I pulled ushering shifts at the Fox Theater in Atlanta. You had to usher for crap in order to be able to usher on nights of good shows. So in order to see Bob Dylan for free , I took the Stryper shift. Towards the end of the final set , the lead singer said : "oh, we better do this before we forget" Then the band grabbed boxes of little travel-sized Bibles and threw them into the crowd ( the bibles not the boxes).
@@mrtveenstra Yes, there were plenty to be picked up after. I think we put them all in Lost and Found. I kept one in my glove compartment until my car exploded, after losing the muffler, while driving through the Outer Banks.
Outer Banks is a hell of a place for your car to explode. Hope you were at least near one of the few towns out there big enough to have an actual repair station.
Just got home, took off my shoes to relax, and saw that there was a new episode of Welcome To The Basement. I am indeed THRILLED. Hope you folks have a fun and spooky Halloween.
In my mind Night of the Creeps is part of a trilogy with Cronenberg's Shivers and Slither. It's also one of my favorite movies, just so fun, and it thrills me. ;)
I love this movie! It's like every horror cliche rolled into one gloriously campy package with a few legitimately creepy moments, AKA a great Halloween movie.
Are there any movies that you really liked the first time you watched them, and upon rewatch realized were bad? Equilibrium was that for me. The first time I watched it, I thought it was awesome. When I watched it again years later, I was actually full on laughing about how bad it was.
Man I miss Halloween as a kid. I remember one yr it was on a Saturday and it ended perfectly with SNICK on first then Monstervision marathon on TNT. I think I downed over half my candy haul that night with my cousin -.- lol
Seen it! Have you guys seen the movie Dutch (1991)? It's an underrated Thanksgiving dramedy with a whole lot of sass and a whole lot of heart. Ed O'Neill was perfectly cast as the working-class take-no-guff boyfriend.
For the next Halloween episodes I would recommend The Initiation. It's a surprisingly decent slasher film with creative cinematography and some hilarious extras!
Allan Kayser Bubba from 'Mama's Family', David "Dr." Paymer from like a million things, and of course Jason "Rusty" Lively from 'National Lampoon's European Vacation'!
Seen it? Empire of the Ants, starring Joan Collins and Robert Pine (Chris Pine’s Father). So ridiculously silly that it is a must watch/mention! Just in time for Halloween 🎃🎃.
As someone who was actually in Kappa Delta sorority, it keeps catching me off guard when they say it. I had to look it up just to confirm that it was actually Kappa Delta Epsilon, which also really exists.
It's a Fred Dekker movie. Its not going to be worse. He is as good as Joe Dante in movie making and so Gremlins quality. Night of the creeps is one of my childhood favorites.
I saw this movie for the first time a few years ago on like Netflix or Prime or something. I thought it was okay for what it was. Also, it's Troma, not trauma. I made the same mistake for a decade or two, lol.
I have NO recollection of asking about the Tom Cruise Mummy film, but I'll take Matt's word for it. Also, I'm wondering what Lorenzo thought of those eye brows?
That Dick Miller scene actually does bother me. It's a fine and acceptable movie bit, you pull out the gun and say "I've got your paperwork right here." That's all fine, but how do you get away with that scene when you're holding up an *armory*? You're trying to take a weapon, from place chock full of weapons, by force. Any competent desk clerk, especially in a movie, should be able to come back with the weapon they want and immediately discharge it.
I went on a Shandango today with The Current War. Seen it? I liked the cinematography and set design, my aunt thought it was the best movie ever made (she loves Benedict Cumberbatch).
Have you seen Ghost dog, Way of the samurai? Its a film that is near and dear to my heart, scored by RZA from The wutang clan and directed by Jim Jarmusch. Easily one of my top 10 favorite films.
I thought it was pretty dumb. Do you actually like it , or ironically? I DID like that it showed how the code of the samurai was really just bullshit to control the samurai and keep the daimyos in power.
@@adgato75 It was a definetly flawed system in feudal japan, but I absolutely love the film for its simplicity. The mob is dying out, and as a result of their doings, their prime hitman who is deadly and untracable is now picking them off

@@flahoo2807 Well , I dislike Jarmusch in general , personally. I dunno , the film just seemed really corny in parts. I think it was on purpose , but it just didn't gel with me.
@@adgato75 Well that is understandable. Jarmusch does have some strange tropes in his films, but to me they are refreshing. Not to further this argument, but what in particular was corny to you? I havent heard any other takes on Ghost dog, and id love to know what scene you though was corny.
I once visited Hyles Anderson christian college and there was graffiti on the men's room stall. Someone had written "Jesus is Lord!" and there were several other comments arguing if the bathroom wall was an appropriate place for Jesus' name to be written.

You must watch the movie The Fanatic with John Travolta in the lead and directed by Limp Bizkit frontman Fred Durst. All people must watch The Fanatic! Watch The Fanatic! Do it!
I haven't seen either of the DotDs in a long while. That being said, I vaguely remember the remake being better simply by dint of having a bigger budget. Acting was better in the original though, imo.
Has anyone pointed out yet the Brandon Tenold's channel released a video about this same movie on the same day as this channel? Is it just a coincidence?
"zombie cat can be snuggly too, just in a gross way"
- Matt Sloan 2019
One look at Craig and you know there's a man who's had an intimate relationship with spirit gum.
Matt wearing the beard, wig, and glasses looks like Alan Moore
YES
With only the wig, he looks like Jane Timm Baxter.
Zylork0122
R.I.P Jane Timm Baxter
He looks like a drug addicted Santa
That’s what I thought he was dressed as at first. Reminds me of Sal from Comic Pop’s Alan Moore get up, lol
“The man has one continuous eyebrow!”
‘AND WHAT’S WRONG WITH THAT?!?’
-You couldn’t have seen that coming, and it was g-danged HILARIOUS!
The very next person to call me is getting a "Thrill me !" haha
Dang Craig, you are so right! Emphatically hanging up the phone used to be so satisfying. Especially on a pay phone because those were indestructible.

At 4:05 I was so hoping someone would chime in with, "Put your ass on my pillllllooooooow," lol.
one year later and this episode is still just as thrilling
In my mind Night of the Creeps is part of a trilogy with Cronenberg's Shivers and Slither. It's also one of my favorite movies, just so fun, and it thrills me. ;)
Gotta respect Dick Miller - the patron saint of "hey, I know that face" character actors
8:26 "Carry the tangent" Hahaha.
"Abba da babba" is my favorite line from the movie
Also no "Mama's Family" joke for Brad-ster? That was Allan Kayser who played Bubba Higgins on "Mama's Family"
I was thinking the same thing when I saw him!
A whole night of creeps?? You KNOW there’s gonna be some.....creepin ‘n’ peepin!!
Mission accomplished guys. You have fully encompassed the funniest bad movie of my teenage years. Bless you!
Blurp! Your it! God I miss playing tag as a kid...
I love this movie! It's like every horror cliche rolled into one gloriously campy package with a few legitimately creepy moments, AKA a great Halloween movie.
guys keep doing the basement.. i love your show!
That rob zombie album in the background 🤣
I loved the Gate as a kid and I still love it as an adult
Are there any movies that you really liked the first time you watched them, and upon rewatch realized were bad?
Equilibrium was that for me. The first time I watched it, I thought it was awesome. When I watched it again years later, I was actually full on laughing about how bad it was.
Loved the gate as a kid
I love that Rob Zombie album! I also love the story about how Tommy Lee came to play on the track Meet the Creeper
You glossed over Tom Atkins being in this? How can you do that? It's Tom Freaking Atkins. man :D
Who?
Awesome! I am so happy you all chose this film. It is a fun one for the season. Happy Halloween! 😊🎃
Top notch riffing, guys!
Nice little detail for the Luten bus to be a black cat 8:30
I'm thrilled you guys did this one. It's pretty okay!
I got all excited because I thought Matt wasn't wearing a shirt
Matt not wear a shirt? OhhhhHhHhHhH!
Fun fact, Tom Atkins who appears as Detective Cameron in Night of the Creeps also appeared in the Ninth Configuration sans moustache.
That fact is indeed fun.
Ted?
Magna Ryuu Whoops, should have put Tom, edited it now. Thanks.
This is actually the theatrical version.
Bubba was from Raytown and where ever the creeps landed 😂
Yes! Someone else who knew that was Allan Kayser as Brad
Night of the Creeps, but you dont invite Aaron along? False advertising.
Too obvious.

The Lighthouse. Seen it?
Woah, I just watched Brandons review of this film. Strange both of your channels picked the same movie and released your vids on the same day.
WTTB and Brandon Tenold releasing reviews for the same movie within 2 hours of each other: Now that's a double feature.

Olivia Hussey! She's great in Turkey Shoot aka Blood Camp Thatcher... Also with Steve Railsback
Wow! @13:57 Suzanne Snyder who played high school girl Deb in 'Weird Science' just a year before this certainly matured quickly.
Have you fellows seen Ordinary People? I highly recommend it; I've watched it at least 5 times by now. I know Craig likes his Judd Hirsch!

When you were going to make a comparison of this movie, I was surprised you said Gremlins rather than Slither.
I'd like to propose a vote:
Dick Miller for the basement hall of fame. May I get a second?
I second that.
What a great movie, and Dick Miller to boot!
During the screening, Matt went from God in The Apple to Meatloaf in Bloodrayne. A good choice.
I saw this movie for the first time a few years ago on like Netflix or Prime or something. I thought it was okay for what it was.
Also, it's Troma, not trauma. I made the same mistake for a decade or two, lol.
Without the eyebrows, he's Edgar Wright. With them, he's Joe Dante.
Oh another Halloween WTTB episode. Okay, guys. Thrill me.
STRYPER RULES!
Craig might want to visit a counselor to talk through whatever trauma he suffered at the hands of frat boys. ;-)
The one I watched had a different ending. As the teen couple kiss, the dog shows up and the girl gets down to pet it and it "blehs" her.
"He's fully thrilled, fully"
I have NO recollection of asking about the Tom Cruise Mummy film, but I'll take Matt's word for it.
Also, I'm wondering what Lorenzo thought of those eye brows?
Seen it? The movie where Tom Cruise *didn't* play the hero but the villain and did it so good! Collateral?
7:47, he didn’t put his arms up, that means he GETS BANNISHED TO THE BLACK HOOOOOOOOOOOOOLLLLEEEEEE
Stryker rules! Notice the kid is wearing a yellow with black plaid shirt....hmm striper I remember always wore yellow and black!

That's Dr Chalice from Halloween iii Season of the Witch

Is Craig supposed to be the drunk teetotaler form Super Sonic Man?
Cabin in the Woods! (Written by Joss Whedon if you’re skeptical)
Yes, and directed by Drew Goddard. Learn nothing else about before you see it.
Is that supposed to make me more or less skeptical?
I know what Matt's costume is. Do you?
Taste it.
book of faces, a movie for horror
I came here just to tell you that you misspelled "Basement."
Ha ha. Fixed.
Let's remake this with Clancy Brown
16:17 dealing with mammaries?
Now you guys need to watch Society
Oh yes! Hardly anyone dares review it!
Dick Miller!
This is Stranger Things season 1-3 but also 4, watch out
Ya thrilled me, in a way Stranger Things was just *kind of* a setup to a zombie horror movie
