About Me: Sarra Cannon writes contemporary and paranormal fiction with both teen and college-aged characters. Her novels often stem from her own experiences growing up in the small town of Hawkinsville, Georgia, where she learned that being popular always comes at a price and relationships are rarely as simple as they seem.
Sarra started indie publishing in 2010 and has sold over three-quarters of a million copies of her books.
She is a devoted (obsessed) fan of Hello Kitty and has an extensive collection that decorates her desk as she writes. She currently lives in Dallas, Texas with her amazingly supportive husband, her adorable red-headed son, and her beautiful little girl.

Pls don’t take that one persons trash talk to heart!!! As the balance sits, you outweigh one slow book release with your positive contributions, immensely!! It’s just a book. You are a mother, wife, business person and a woman (and probably more things). Perspective is wonderful, I wish more keyboard warriors would get some. Rose ❤❤❤❤

I cannot imagine my life going so well and so easy that the thing I’m going to get so worked up about and shout about in the internet EVERwHERE is that an author didn’t publish a book on the schedule they suggested or I expected. C’mon!

Honestly, I'm going through your older videos (and enjoying the heck out of them!) and this might be weird to say, but I find the 'delays' on DOVS *inspiring*.
You've run into so many obstacles with this book but you keep pushing through and that, honest to goodness, is so freaking motivating to me. I'm buying a copy of that book when it comes out and it's going to live front and center on my writing desk as a reminder that I'm not the only person who has hard days, but that doesn't mean I'm not still going to DO IT. I just have to keep at it!
So thank you so, SO much for sharing your journey, and I'm so sorry someone went off like that. Your positive energy and perseverance are such an inspiration, and I'm so glad I found your channel ❤️

I'm still learning how to deal with criticism but one tip that has helped me is: whatever that hateful person said to you is only a reflection of them. It has nothing to do with you. Any sane person would understand that you are a human being and not a machine. You are doing your best and changing people's lives! Thank you so much for the great information, always.

Sarra you have nothing to prove. You are awesome. Life happens. You have a LOT on your plate. Any of your true fans understand that and will stick by you. No one is perfect. You are you. You are great. DD says it perfectly. You are not disappointing the people who truly care. We love you. I love you. From all the years I have been following you, I truly feel close to you and feel like I could be a pseudo-mom to you. I just want to put my arms around you and give you a really comforting mom-hug. And let you cry on my shoulder for as long as you want and then help you figure all this out. You will figure it out. You are strong and fantastic and can do anything you set your mind to.

I did the 6 months 4 life in 2021, it really worked for me. I just snapped and i saw things differently. As opposed to be like "my goal is to achieve this weight/measurements"i changed to "my goal is to learn everything i can about gym equipment and weight lifting", "My goal is to see if Im able to attend the gym often, how many times can i go each week?" then part of it was reading david goggins book, and then i saw myself looking forward to leaving my comfort zone, and each challenge seemed exciting. Growth only happens outside of your comfort zone guys! And its an exercise the more u do the easier it gets and the more u wanna do it.

@sarracannon remember this, you are “accountable” only to yourself, and George and the kids. You made a vow with George and you gave birth to two beautiful children. To “us” out here in CyberLand? You most certainly do
NOT “owe” us anything. You’re an artist, create art in your time and we will love you for it.
To the haters/trolls, etc, they aren’t on the same vibration/frequency as you. Wish them well in your heart and let it roll off your back.
The good/aligned is the wheat, the bad/unaligned is the chaff. Make the bread you make with the wheat, the chaff will never work anyway.
      Sending you Love and Light.

I always saw preorders as a way to ensure I'd get a copy of the book when it was released, while also supporting the author as they completed it. If someone is upset about not receiving their copy at a precise time, they might want to reconsider preordering from any author. I've had preorders delayed by up to a year from major publishing companies even. I'm not angry at the authors for the delay-things happen. I want to read the best possible version of their book, and by preordering, I feel like I'm also helping cheer them along the way for how ever long it takes.

I am not sure I can say anything that hasn't already been said- there are so many supportive comments on here! Don't let anyone undermine all that you have given to the world. Also, I completely understand your reluctance to find a doctor. I genuinely believe that positive lifestyle changes to diet and exercise are the most important steps in improving our health and beginning the path to healing health issues. The advancements in medical technologies and pharmaceuticals have created a bad habit of some medical professionals and everyday people to forget the simplest ways to help ourselves. I truly hope you find a doctor who is on the same page as you for your own health. Love the crystals! You are an inspiration.

Oh Sarra, I cried to see you cry! I'm so sorry to hear this unpleasant person upset you. I can relate so much to the constant feeling of needing to prove yourself, the constantly pushing yourself to do more, be more because underneath a little voice keeps saying 'not enough' (in my case anyway). It's a challenge and you're amazing - not only for all you have accomplished but all that you share along the way,. Sending so much love and gratitude for all your inspirational content.

And businesses we will love writing and we would all love for our books to be written and published within two months, but if you rush the process and you take the joy out of it then the reader’s not going to love the end product. Don’t let them get to you. I’m sure your book is going to be great and definitely worth the wait.

Hearing about your struggles with TDVS throughout this last year, kept me going doing the necessary revisions for my first ever book. I was so close to giving up, but you pushed through it after such a long career and so did I, just starting out.

You're an artist not a robot! All the life that you pour into your writing makes your art even better. If it takes longer, it takes longer. The person posting mean things about you obviously did that to draw attention to themselves. If you're actually done with someone or something you don't bother them!
I find your honesty very inspirational and gives me hope that I will one day achieve my goals too. ❤🤗

I love you and everything that you do! You put SO MUCH good out into the world, in so many different ways, and you have brought so much joy and positivity and healing into my life! I am here for you and am not going anywhere. It also wasn't until you mentioned in one of your videos that you'd had a pre-order you had to cancel that I stopped beating myself up about my own cancelled preorder. (And letting go of that negativity probably also had something to do with me eventually finishing the book, though I haven't published it yet - I no longer feel like I have to throw books out into the world as soon as possible, like I'm trying to stave off hungry wolves, lol.) One of my worst fears as an author is letting people down and disappointing them, whether it's by not making the books they want, or not getting them done fast enough, or just making something they hate, and those are hard to face when they happen (and they've all happened, to some degree or another, at this point - ugh). When somebody pokes at our worst fears, especially ones that tie into our identity, it can be so devastating. But even if there's some truth to those fears, it's never the whole truth. You're an author, but you're also so much more than that. (That person is so small, they just can't see it.) And no matter what readers might think, they don't need you to be a book factory - they need you to be you, even if that takes time, and even if it means wearing more than one hat. /soapbox

I would as many others would rather wait for your best work and you put all your love and creativity into something beautiful and your proud of is what I want to read and so many authors and creatives go through. It make so SOOO RELATABLE to sooo MANY people! and thats why your have a following, thats why your true "fans" are here and support will never leave. You have not let anyone down. Your real, your honest and watching someone take their health and family seriously is inspiring. You'd have haters saying " all she does is write and spends no time with family" if you did the opposite. Your always going to have those people who think they are entitled to your work... NO ! IT'S A FREAK PRIVILEGE to read an authors work. SARRA you are an amazing person and business owner and inspire so many people and we love and follow you because of how transparent your are. Watching that part of the coffee chat broke my heart as you are such a light to so many people. I know its easier said then done.... but please remember you have so many true lovers of your work and drive as a creative and a few nay-sayers is NOT WHO YOU ARE and DOES NOT reflect your work ethic! 💜🖤💜🖤💜

I honestly don't understand how or why some people can be so mean with their comments. Please know that no one's perfect and even if they were we don't learn from perfection. We learn and grow from adversity. It's inspiring watching you navigate obstacles that we all face in life. You have to live a life that you can enjoy, and readers complaining about not having a book on time seem to not care about your mental health, which is disturbing to me as a psychologist. I'd always want the people I love and support to take the time they need for their health, wellbeing, and family. That's the fuel that keeps you going and without that your well would run dry. You have far more people rooting for you than those that are complaining. Keep being ambitious and shooting for the stars! You're inspiring the rest of us on this journey!! 🙌🤩⭐

I hate so much that people made you feel bad. You almost crying made me cry. 😂 Don’t let them get to you and never feel like you need to be pressured to say something is on its way because you need to prove yourself. Everyone has and goes through different seasons of life. If they watch your channels they’d know it wasn’t from a lack of trying, working, or effort on your part. Good things come to those who wait and perfection can’t be rushed neither can creativity. I get a lot of it is pressure on yourself and why it feels worse when parts of criticism are true but there is a difference between something being factual and truthful.

I just finished a dissertation - 322 page autoethnographic case study - most of which was written in the last 3-4 months (I started with coursework 10 years ago, and gathered my data in 2020). It took me 10 years to finish. I felt constant pressure because I was struggling to meet the expectations that I thought other people had of me but eventually, I realized they were really my unattainable expectations. I intend to take your HB90 course - I've been trying to get this writing project done (and graduate - which I did in May!) so I can start planning some of my other writing projects. I have found your videos inspirational and helpful. I know you didn't ask for advice but as someone who struggled through a very long process of overcoming burnout and seeing through this big writing project - I had to learn to be more kind to myself. Be kind to yourself - you will find your balance and it will be the right thing for you. The book that needs to be written, will be written when the time is right. I'm excited about your step into Ream Stories. It's an application that I am considering for myself even though I don't have a following yet.

My heart hurt for you. You are amazing in all you do. I am so sorry that person thought their judge-y opinion was so important that they multi posted to deliberately hurt you. Shame on them--that is on them not you.. That was mean spirited and their intention was to hurt probably triggered by their own personal problem/angst. Why do people have to be so mean to other humans? An existential question that has been around since the beginning of time. There have always been those type of people and unfortunately will always be out there. But the people who love you 💗💗and inspired by you far outnumber those mean spirited people. Yes they have a right to their opinion, and so do I. Sending you healing energy and virtual hugs. Thank you for being so honest and authentic. None of us can be the perfection we would like to be, for both ourselves and for others. No one.
All we can do is do the best we can daily in the most healthy way we can manage.
I'm actually GRATEFUL that you're not making the goals you want to make despite being as amazingly productive as you are. That YOU are not able, reminds me that NO ONE can do it always. It reminds me that what is more important is that we give ourselves and each other while gracefully pushing forward as best as we can.
Books are entertainment. They matter to each of us, but no lives are lost because we don't meet a deadline. Let's remember this perspective please.
And while you, and each of us, struggle to do everything always perfectly, "the haters" are also on a journey to learn to accept that others are not perfect. That is THEIR journey, and yes, it hurts to hear them lash out against you, but that's not your journey. Yours is to give yourself grace as you do the best you can do without ever giving up.
Let's all be kind to each other. You are amazing in so many ways, Sarra. Thank you for being you INCLUDING not being able to meet the goals you wish you could all the time.

Thank you so much. And yes it's so true. Books are so valuable but it's not life and death.

You already know this, but all of (the many of) us that admire you as a creative and “friend” will not be swayed by someone who lashes out when they are disappointed. The immature person will never be remotely as successful as an author and teacher and good mom as you are. They aren’t even a good reader, because a good reader becomes empathetic by consuming stories. You demand too much of yourself and measure your value sometimes by what you do-by what you are accomplishing. A lesson from your mother. You are a bright light in the world. Now, publish that damn book, which is probably the best one you’ve ever written.

Grateful for you and your courses!! I've been following you for awhile and regarding TDOVS you have said repeatedly to everyone that you were unsure of a date so I'm not sure why this person would be upset. Sorry you had to experience that ❤

Quick question (that may have been answered already): for those of us who bought your books back in the fall and decided to wait for DOVS will we still get our order once it’s published. So excited for it 🎉 No anger here, you have a beautiful soul and are very admirable. You have to give yourself credit though you’re not only a writer but also: a mom, a wife, a friend, a mentor, a business woman, a self-publisher, a helper…I can go on and on, you are wonderful - you have a busy life so people got to get over themselves. How many of your “critics” 😉 can say they have accomplished the same. Love you girl. You do you and f$&k the rest.

You're only 1 person, you can only do so much in the amount of time in a given day. These people if they were in your situation would come across the same problems. They are just haters.

It is okay for books to have a delay. Look at how long it has taken for George R.R. Martin to finally announce that "Winds of Winter" is close to ready. I know he's gotten way more flak and negative comments with it taking over 10 years.
I love your positive comments and encouragements. I love those.

There's no balance. That's the lie. Pick a project, finish it. Then pick another project, finish it. You can't be everything all at once. That's been the lie of multitasking. Focus. Choose. Finish. There's plenty of time for things. There's never enough time for everything at once.

When you.reach the point of wanting to find a doctor I strongly recommend looking at a functional medicine practitioner or naturopath. They tend to be much more up on the latest research and much less gaslight-y in terms of taking your symptoms seriously. (I also have PCOS but am about a decade older than you.)

As an enneagram 1, I felt this so much. It is so hard when you want to be the absolute best you can be so that you can show up perfectly for those you care for.
Add that to being disabled or chronically ill and the grief of it can be overwhelming.
Your life is YOURS! No one else’s. You do not owe your life or health to us. 🖤🖤
    All my love. 🩵
