I can't believe there are two Xenosaga announcements in 2024. I also can't believe there's a 400+ page artbook coming out in like a week. I wasn't even exaggerating last news video - this really is the biggest year for the series even without a game release.

Correction at 14:20 : Monolith Soft is owned entirely by Nintendo. In 2007 Namco sold 80% of Monolith's stock to Nintendo, but Nintendo eventually acquired the remaining 16% they had by 2011, meaning Monolith Soft has been fully first-party since then. The 4% that's not owned by Nintendo is stock that's personally split between Tetsuya Takahashi, Hirohide Sugiura, and Yasuyuki Honne as the company co-founders.
The reason france gets this much xeno stuff is because france gets a lot of weeb stuff in general. France is the second consumer of manga in the world just behind japan, and thus we get a lot of exclusive stuff to promote anime/manga/games because japanese companies know that we are a big market.
Plus ig whenever they want to organise stuff for europe in general, they do it in France because they know we'll be open to it and other europeans can just come here, although this is mostly speculation on my part.

The hilarious thing about the concert in France is that Xenosaga 1 never got an official french localization.
There is a mod for a fan translation but that’s it.

One thing I will say about the Monolithsoft weapon artists not getting credit, there is also the possibility that whoever wrote that comment, did not want to have their name printed. Just saying not everyone is comfortable with their name published. But of course it could just be monolith policy as well.
Konami also has that policy with card art

Even if the official reasoning is that it was just a reference, I'm pretty sure Takahashi has gone on record saying that Xenogears and Xenosaga are different universes or whatever when the opening of Xenosaga is a direct telling of something that happened in one of the Perfect Works parts. It's just easier to write things off that way when the three current chunks of Xeno-series are split between three different companies.

I mean, it's pretty much always what it's going to be. Like Kos-Mos already is in, by Xenoblade 2 after all. Developed by Shion and all. But it ultimately meant nothing in the game then, and it's obviously not going to mean anything now. It was nothing but a reference at the end of the day.
Even if it was more than just a reference, it still happens before the events of 3. Making the whole light falling down onto the planet at the end credits not be Kos-Mos at all. And just throws all the theories of them being connected right out the window.
@@byronlyons3548Do you think the Land of Challenge is canon as well, then? KOS-MOS and T-elos in Xenoblade 2 are just references and fanservice, same as Shulk, Fiora, and Elma. Not at all canonical.
France is the biggest consumer of anime and manga outside of Japan so it makes sense to have a lot of Xeno stuff there.
Imagine if the last page of the artbook is a Xenoblade version of Kos-Mos floating to merged worlds.

As a French Xeno fan, I'm very happy with the amount of things we got, though I didn't know that Takahashi went to France to promote Xeno things before.
Another thing (xenosaga 3 spoilers) :
Imagine my surprise when the city of Rennes-le-Château was in the game and how important it was (it was funny hearing the pronunciation in japanese).
I'll need to go there at some point lol
Hopefully one day we get official localizations for both Xenosaga 1 & 3 if they’re gonna praise our country this much.

Also, If you haven't heard Godsibb, hear It, it's probably one of if not the best Boss theme in game history, an absolute masterpiece.
Sadly that Xenosaga 3. I wish there were some from 2 and 3 here but as he mentioned…probably not able to obtain due to cost.
Now if we could get a remaster of Xenosaga at some point that would be nice. You already did it with Baten Kaitos Bandai please do it with Xenosaga as well. Oh and let CyberConnect2 remake the original 4 .hack games like they've been saying they want to for the past half decade now. These two are some of the last few PS2 series from my childhood that need remastering/remaking.
Anyway I'm happy these piano arrangements for episode 1 are happening. Honestly I think this is the only soundtrack that that would work with since the other two were more out there and less classical sounding by comparison.

Xenoblade x lore can only be explained by being canon (telethia, bionis and mechonis status). Probably both xenosaga and xenoblade x are in some way canon

as someone who hasnt played saga yet, really hoping it gets a full ground up remake instead of just a remaster/port like chrono cross or baten kaitos since those seemed kind of underwhelming tbh

The Xenosaga piano collection reached the max kickstarter goal yesterday and I am so damn happy. This probably means we are getting some sort of Xenosaga rerelease given that Chrono Cross also got a remaster after its piano collection success from Wayô Records. It’s really gonna have to happen at this point! Are we free from suffering? Will feeling pain make me complete?

The art book is getting me more excited by the day.
I really do hope the secondary artbook helps delve into the game's development and patching up parts of 3's narrative that need help. 2 had a pretty unqiue development cycle so im curious if 3 struggled with similar issues or not.

XENOSAGA AGENDA LFG
Everytime someone mentions Xenosaga's music I think "what music?". The games have, sadly, a ton (and I mean it) of cutscenes (which is the biggest part of those games) with no music, and the "dungeon" tracks are ok, I think. Xenosaga Episode II "Opening Theme" is absolutely beautiful, though.
As for the games: I really, really hope that, if they intend to bring Xenosaga back from the dead, they do it with either a remake or a reimagining. Those games would not work as remasters. I love Xenoblade with a passion, but I couldn't finish any of the Xenosaga games (although I've played them all and have watched the cutscenes on YT). They target a very different audience.
