If Z did go in reverse order I'll be funny if he purposely stopped before doing Moebius A because reaching A means reaching an END and as we know he is allergic to that by principle of existing
My funny headcanon is just that no one that had a name that started with the letter A wanted to become Moebius. The whole naming system is funny af. "Sorry Noah, N is already taken. Better luck next time."
Haha. I wish. IMO it's likely that the devs didn't want to confuse the hell out of people even further by having a Mobius A so they left A for Alpha and "A" of course.
I just wish Nopon could've been Moebius so we could have Moebius B just the 2 Bana from XC1 and XC2 stacked on top of each other in an ill-fitting suit
I think considering A's full quote "It has the nuance of 'the one at the beginning'. In this world, only I and Alpha can claim that honor.", I think this almost necessitates that a Moebius A doesn't actually exist. It almost sounds as if A is describing something of a fundamental law of Aionios in this quote, which makes it all the more curious why there would be a list of all the moebius including a moebius A. u̶n̶l̶e̶s̶s̶ ̶m̶o̶e̶b̶i̶u̶s̶ ̶Ñ̶ ̶i̶s̶ ̶r̶e̶a̶l̶ ̶a̶n̶d̶ ̶t̶h̶e̶y̶'̶r̶e̶ ̶j̶u̶s̶t̶ ̶t̶h̶e̶ ̶s̶p̶i̶r̶i̶t̶ ̶o̶f̶ ̶m̶a̶l̶o̶s̶ ̶i̶n̶ ̶N̶'̶s̶ ̶s̶w̶o̶r̶d̶ ̶t̶a̶k̶i̶n̶g̶ ̶t̶h̶e̶ ̶S̶p̶a̶n̶i̶s̶h̶ ̶f̶r̶o̶m̶ ̶h̶i̶s̶ ̶n̶a̶m̶e̶ ̶a̶n̶d̶ ̶t̶h̶e̶m̶e̶
Z being afraid of Alpha so much that he refuses to have an A in his organization is raw. Seeing as Z is already the embodiment of fear I think I’ve found my head anon
I agree that's the reason, but it's not raw, cooked, or undercooked, it's mechanical. Z is a virus in Origin and the Consuls are said to be his avatars, implying the single-letter names are related to its functioning. A lot of graphical programs have a text lookup table; this was the entry point for Moebius to corrupt its execution.
@@SherkelI mean, not really. Moebius is not actually limited to the single letter consuls. Every enemy in the the origin area is a moebius construct and you would expect them to be ascented characters, special character and numbers if that is how that works, but they have proper full names. Including unique monsters that literally have proper naming. It genuinely feels more like the single letter naming is a gimmick Z came up with for consistency. He and his avatars(X, Y) were created as single letters and the purpose of the consuls is to be a part of him, so they should follow that naming scheme.
@@lpfan4491 Someone else who cares about this part of the story, finally! If Z had that kind of control over it, though, I think he would have made 500 Consul As out of spite. Instead, there isn't a single one, and he makes sure to keep every letter from B to W filled like his life depends on it. Consuls are more important than the other Moebius enemies because they directly correspond to his ~96% of control over Origin (25/26). You don't get the Chain Attack music back (which corresponds to the party's share of Origin power) until near the end of the battle, after destroying hundreds of avatars he created as shields. We also don't know if punctuation exists in Aionios (it's no use in a war) and it's definitely never shown. I could picture Melia+Nia+Shulk saying "alright, this should be fine for storing everyone's names". All in all, I'm led to conclude the single letters relate to Origin's programming in some way, especially given the existence of text lookup tables and drive letters.
I still think A being the theoretical missing A makes the most sense. They tell Matthew directly A just means beginning, and I took that to be their place in Origin’s programming. I could picture Irma asking about the naming thing, asking about A, being told, “A is occupied” and just assuming that meant a Moebius had the title. If we get deeper into the weeds, Z is also both mechanical in nature and he represents an inherent degree of creative sterility. None of the Consuls have names that go any deeper than the first letter of their original names and characters like Dirk flat out lost their battlefield titles to switch to the generic Consul titles when they became Moebius. So even if a human mind could have just chosen to name another character Moebius A anyway, Z might not be capable of doing so. The process could go something like this: Z naming the Moebius- I operate best with simple programming language. All my Moebius will be named from A to Z. *Z wants to create a Moebius A, but title A is already in use by the Ontos core in the system. Encounters something akin to a, "Word cannot give a document the same name as an open document" error and eventually just moves on.* Later, Irma- I see Moebius C, S, and J are all currently unfilled. What about A? X, Y, Z, or one of the non-original Moebius just repeating what they were told- A is occupied. Irma- Got it. *Labels A as a Moebius.* And for meta, because the meta value is always worth evaluating in Xenoblade these days, we, as the player, and handed the same mistaken preconceived notion as Irma was.
I very much like this explanation... Wait... Can Irma be defeated before Shania becomes a Mobius? I feel like you can free Colony Mu before the end of Chapter 5. In which case, she probably does know about C(rys) and J(oran) but not S yet, right?
@@AerynBella It is also possible that Irma's death just canonically takes place after. Sidequests in 3 are kinda all over the place interms of continuity, I can specifically remember a sidequest that can only be unlocked after the castles are freed referencing the Moebius as still being in control of castle orders. Nevermind that sidequests never expire, so several similar contradictions come up if you do certain earlier sidequests lategame.
as a math teacher, I really liked the part where he said math is canon to xenoblade. now I got a real good way to convince the other teachers to play it too 😂
A list of 26 does very much support that the Lost Numbers have probably managed to take out at least one Moebius. Irma is slain during Fiona's Hero Quest, which can take place before Chapter 6, i.e. before the death of Shania. That means she was never around for Shania being Consul S, so whoever is Consul S on that list must have died during Irma's time as a Moebius. There's of course the chance that S was slain by the Liberators before they teamed up with Z, or by the City Founders after the event of FR, but I somewhat doubt that she'd keep a record of someone who died so long ago, or that she was even around back then.
And on that note, if we continue forward with the notion that there might not be a Consul A, Irma's list might very well just contain both Crys and Joran as well as either the Consul C or the Consul J before them.
If anything, we know the City has takes out several Moebius during their existence. Matthew is noted to have felled at least a few Moebius before the events of FR, the Ouroboros Candidates have also killed a few unnamed Moebius, and the City in general is fairly aware of how strong Moebius is.
Personal theory: I don't think Z would want any reminder of his greatest enemy, nor an "opposite" to himself as Z to exist inside Moebius. Since even the thought about what the polar opposite of Z and his rule might be is a threat to Z's silver tongue. Cause we already see what happens when there is doubt in Moebius, aka Noah and Mio reincarnating through N & M's regret.
I always figured the listing of a Consul A was more a sign of respect towards A than anything else. A is someone who split off from Z's god (and shares their status as, in some way, being Ontos, the basis of Origin that gave birth to Aionios and Moebius) and overcame that god who sought only to save those who existed outside of the eternal flow, thereby preserving the endless now, and replacing Alpha as the core of Origin and avatar of Aionios. A effectively became Z's new god, and is presumably still alive within Origin by the start of the game, simply existing in stasis as they continuously uphold the world's existence as Aionios' avatar. It'd also make Z not technically lying about A existing, because A does exist, it's just that they're upholding the existence of the world itself in the most direct way of all Moebius. I can very easily see Z counting A as an honorary member of Moebius, given the context. Z may not have been there for the events themselves, but the main game's backstory for N shows he can still watch the world's events through the Ampitheatre, so he very well could've observed the whole thing. And if not, N could've just told him what happened during and after Alpha's final moments. And yeah "A" may not stand for anything like Alvis or Alpha would, but I think he wouldn't be unwilling to make an exception for the one who liberated him, upheld the endless now, and is adjacent to the one he considered a god. Plus "The first letter of A is A" is a technically correct sentence, so I don't think there'd be like. A rule against people with one letter names joining Moebius. That'd just be kinda silly.
Imagine if Mio was just called M from the start and that was an actual rule. "Oh yeah, about our agreement...it turns out adding M is illegal, so you signed off on being mobius for nothing. As compensation, we'll give you a month every year as vacation time."
I like this theory a lot too. And I don't think Shu says it's a list of Mobius, but rather a list of Consuls. Z could regard A as a Consul for the world of Aionios (as opposed to a Consul of a colony), as A holds Aionios together as an avatar and spirit of the world. If anyone is bold enough to ask Z why there is no Consul A, he can logically state the position is occupied. And, I don't even think it's a stretch that Z and N might lie and say Consul A or Mobius A exists to uphold our world and the Endless Now. That might ruffle the feathers of A, Rex, and Shulk (so to speak), but they would have the ultimate hope and faith that Alvis and A's vision will come true and that Mobius will be defeated so that Origin can carry out its intended design.
I like to think Z planned to have the crew be named after the alfabet, but he never found anyone that started with A that would want to become Moebius.
Its very possible that when Shulk, Rex and A took on Alpha's roles as the spirit of Origin, they continued to seal Z. Hence why it doesn’t seem like he has ever left
Personally, I think Moebius A is supposed to be Ontos. All names attributed to the Ontos core's incarnations begin with the letter A, and the core was used as the crux of Origin, the genesis of Moebius itself. That would be a good reason why Z never filled the position even after Alpha became his enemy, as the position would still be symbolic of the power that created Z and Moebius to begin with.
And since the Ontos core powering Origin is what allowed for the creation and continued existence of Aionios through Mobius' will, the idea of "Mobius A" in this instance can refer to A, Alpha, Alvis, and Aionios all simultaneously.
the are things that go unanswered and unused from all Xenoblade game. 1. The Fog King 2. Vandham (XC2) final lesson to Rex. 3. Who is Moebius A 4 What or who was the light falling to the new earth.
So.. first time commenting here. I've watched every other Luxin video because of my Xeno obsession. And not gonna lie, you caught me off guard when you said "Consul Ñ" xD Spanish is my mother tongue, so I didn't expect that :)
Despite everything, I still personally think A is Moebius A in a metaphorical sense. I think the big thing is that Alpha, more than anything, actually acts more like an Ouroboros than a Moebius, working to destroy Aionios (along with all past life, of course) rather than linger in the endless now. That would essentially make A the Moebius half of Ontos, in the same way N is the Moebius half to Noah's Ouroboros, which plays into Future Redeemed's thesis of balancing the past and future. I think it's more of a meta thing, with the base game having every letter Moebius present but one, and then having a character in the DLC coincidentally named after that one letter who also happens to be a Moebius counterpart to an Ouroboros character. Obviously, A wasn't sneaking around behind Matthew's back to manage a colony or anything (there's a theory for ya), but it makes sense to me if it's a meta narrative choice
Im typing this before watching the video but I remember before the first trailers for future redeemed dropped i thought "moebius a is aionios itself" as a joke at first but dwelling on it kinda made it make sense (and i still to an extent hold that belief after playing thru it) so i am interested to see what you have to say EDIT: literally said "no way" out loud later in the video (i didnt know about the shu dialogue before and after hearing what you have to say i now see the error of my ways) BUT saying moebius A is Aionios itself is pretty cool sounding yknow
21:43 when you mentioned negative energy for some possible Moebius A in the future, the word animosity instantly came into my head since you mentioned ethnic/cultural differences in most Xeno games.
I figured the last mobeus IS Alpha/A and is the key to rebooting the worlds (A/Alpha/Monado all representing beginnings). Zed names the mobeus starting from the end of the alphabet because he's actively trying to keep the reboot from occurring.
The idea that they might be saving Moebius A for a future title is interesting, and not entirely out of the range of possibility. Takahashi has expressed that he always likes to leave some stuff open for each game so that he can follow up on it later. Xenoblade 1 teased "worlds and new life far beyond their known realm" and it was confirmed it was a pocket dimension later. Xenoblade 2 follows up on that and then throws in the possibility of actual gods existing, as well as name dropping Saviorites/Salvators in what seems to be a civil war over the Conduit. Xenoblade 3 takes the previous thing and adds more to it, continues teasing the existence of gods/a higher authority and possibly predestined divine fate, and also leaves questions like "what is that blue star heading towards Earth" and "who is Consul A."
my favorite funny theory is that after the events of future redeemed, between alpha throwing them out of origin and A killing two Moebius and destroying their flame clocks, they were like "aight names cursed"
I think it was the world itself (A)ionios. It makes sense as Moebius and their robo queens constantly said ouroboros despise and are enemies of this world. It would make sense for a world created by Moebius to be seen as a kind of Moebius itself.
A absolutely was Moebius A, she's the part of Alvis that is still connected to the OLD world and invested in PRESERVING it, and given that Z was modelled after Ontos' core, this makes them theoretically identical, so yes, she's the A to Z, the Moebius who acts as the antithesis to Z.
One thing to note is that Irma's list might be pretty old. By the time Shania becomes a console Irma is dead and yet her form still lists a Moebius S, so an old Moebius S probably existed at some point and died. But either way we'll probably just see Moebius A show ups in X2 randomly with no explanation.
My headcanon of the situation was that A is considered by Z to be his kin because they are currently (alongside Shulk and Rex) making sure the Aionios doesn't *collapse into itself*, a very important job when it comes to mantaining Aionios's continued existence. Their final motives are different (stopping it from destroying itself in order to mantain it for eternity vs doing it so that it can be extinguished properly when the time comes), but A's existence mantaining Origin is ultimately essential for Z's Eternal Now
In my opinion, Moebius A is Aionios itself, the part of the collective unconsious that rejects the future and creates the monsters around the planet, fusing and destroying parts of Alrest and the Bionis/Mechonis. When Z is destroyed, so is every single Moebius left, so the land of Xenoblade 3 stops being Aionios, and resumes being the fusion between the two worlds which Origin will salvage.
My head canon is that Alpha is mobeus A because Z could be considered both a separate being of the same entity (I.E. Z is some portion of the ontos core similar to A and Alpha being the same sort of thing). Thus making the ontos core (or God as Z put it) both the beginning and the end of Mobeus. If this is the case, I say hell yeah to more Xenosaga symbolism.
Ngl I never really thought much about who Consul A was. I was curious, but I figured he just died off-screen before the game started. Then I thought A would be a twist villain because of her name and resemblance to Alvis. Now that I watched this video, I realize that the Xeno writers hardly every do anything without purpose. There is no Consul A for a reason, and there's also a reason why the missing Consul is A and not W or something. I'm not really convinced by any of the proposed theories, but this did ignite a renewed interest in who Consul A could be. That said, I know people aren't big Moebius fans, but I genuinely loved Moebius as a villain. What they stood for, how they were created and even their designs was all so cool. My only gripe was that there wasn't much to differentiate Moebius, especially considering some of them wore the same helmets and had the same monster form. But thematically it kinda makes sense that Moebius is one collective with similar looking people.
When A explained the meaning of their name I interpreted it as an oblique confirmation of A being a nickname without telling Matthew outright that their real name is something else ("Alvis"). It's just that the one they chose does has meaning in its own right as opposed to A picking some other pseudonym like "Al", or say, "Mary Magdalene". I think the identity of Consul A is supposed to be this A after all, albeit in an honorary sense. As the primary energy source powering Origin after FR, A is technically responsible for maintaining the continued existence of Aionios and the Endless Now, if only to give Matthew and his descendants some extra time to look for a proper solution to their overall situation. Also, A's uniform does look a little bit like the Consuls' clothes, possibly reflecting that. As for the "no racism" thing in 3, oh it's still there. It's just that this time the racism revolves around artificially-created national lines and ethnocentrism between two groups of "humans" rather than past games' focus on innate biological differences.
Crackpot theory. Moebius A (if they do exist in XC4 for whatever reason), could be A HERO. While most Xeno games do end with at least 1 god dead and some radical change to the world, Moebius A being manifested as a sort of preserver would be a cool idea to work with, especially in contrast to whatever XC4 would do for it’s actual villains. It could even cause conflict if say A was a party member or general ally, but a Zanza style twist villian shows up who wants to create a perpetual existence, which Moebius would probably prefer on principle. Just ideas I thought I should put down
Literally there is no Moebius A. Thematically though Alpha fits the mold. He essentially wanted to live the The Endless Now, but with different people.
I mean Aionios itself being moebius A would make sense with aionios/Moebius A being the beginning of everything and Moebius Z being the way to end it all.
I still think A from Future Redeemed could be Mobius A for one sole reason. Mobius' goal is to preserve the world they live in, Aionios. And what was Future Redeemed about? *Stopping Alpha from destroying Aionios!* A is likely a different kind of Mobius from the others: technically a "true" Mobius, but born from Ontos instead of the collective will of humanity, with Alpha being Ontos' Ouroboros. And this likely brings up the question of "How is Alpha Ouroboros if he's the villain?" Well the answer to that is that neither Mobius nor Ouroboros are strictly good or evil. Yeah, most Ouroboros are good and most Mobius are evil, but then there's Captain Triton: a member of Mobius who allies himself with Noah and the group to fight the other Mobius. Alpha being Ouroboros doesn't automatically make him good, he simply fits the Ouroboros desire to end Aionios. But his way of ending Aionios is not to separate it back into the two original worlds like what Noah's group was trying to do, it's to literally destroy Aionios and make a new world. Likewise, A wants to protect Aionios from Alpha just like how all the other Mobius try to stop Noah's group from liberating and splitting the world apart, but in A's case, it's not because he/she wants Aionios to exist forever, it's because he/she knows that destroying Aionios and the people living on it is not the correct path to the future.
Honestly “The Last Moebius” goes so hard as a title that could be applied to a hypothetical Moebius A. If they ever do decide to do something like Moebius again, I hope that they can actually make it work as a villain concept for the general player-base because the idea is legitimately very fascinating.
If mobius' goal is to perpetuate the endless now, and A's sacrifice (along with Rex and Shulk) prevented Origin's destruction (allowing the endless now to continue), perhaps Z considers that to be worth the title of mobius, or at least to reserve the spot out of respect. Also, while I haven't played Xenosaga, if I recall correctly, a plot point is how gnosis are the result of the conscious of the deceased fearing integrating with the collective unconscious and if this process continues, risks the destruction of the universe. Similarly, mobius is formed by the fear of the consciousness of people within origin, and if it is not overcome, will lead to the annihilation events eventually destroying everything. The key to saving all is supposed to be in Lost Jerusalem, so if there is a tie in or merging with the Xenosaga story, XBC3 sets the state thematically along with earth reappearing in real space.
That's what I was thinking. Irma could have just assumed there was a consul for every letter of the alphabet and only put in notes for the ones she either met or had any significant information on.
I still fully subscribe to A being aionios, as it's just a symbolic Mobius, as aionios is what Z sees as the beginning (and the end, and the middle), however that's contrasted with ontos A because what was really the beginning was Klaus' experiment
This game is so good. I've stopped being a gamer years ago, and yet, I'm still sleeping on these games' collector's editions and revisit them regularly.
You might appreciate this comparison, but there might be a good reason for Moebius A being Aionios itself, and that is rooted in Tolkien. One can liken Z to Morgoth/Melkor, and Aionios to Arda/Middle-Earth. Melkor's ring, in the sense that Sauron had the One Ring as the anchor of his power, is Arda itself, much like Z's power, Moebius itself, is what keeps Aionios intact.
I feel like A could just be mobius A since in a way becoming an avatar of aionios is preserving the endless now regardless of the intention being to preserve it so others can come and end things for real later
It could be saved for XC4 or the Sequel like what they did with who the hell Myhtra child is.. Or it could be simply because the "A" already occupied by Shulk, Rex, and A as "Avatar" replacing Alpha place in the Origin in the Future Redeemed so Z can not assign some one with that letter.. Technically Alpha, Shulk, Rex, and those who manifested in Aionios without clock system is same type of Entity as Moebius so maybe because what they did in future redeemed, Z can not replace their control in Origin so he just add the rest of consuls covering the truth that he can not remove them from the system..
I'd like to think there is no A and the 26th was another S! Since we killed Shania so quickly, it was never a branding problem for Z! I'm just kidding, but it would be funny.
I can see them bringing back Moebius like entities into the series because Moebius were already a call back to the Testaments and Wilhelm from Xenosaga. I get the feeling if they do something with the unused black knight from X we'll see something like them appear in X2 as well when and if that game ever comes out. Though my advice would be to not do 26 of them and limit them to maybe 5 to 10 next time with other prominent villains taking the stage as well much like Xenosaga did. The Testaments from Xenosaga were way more impactful due to their being less of them. Not to mention we get to see some of them as they were before they became Testaments as well which is part of the reason why N and M were interesting characters. I'm just waiting for L from X to turn out to be Consul L in X2 at this point.
Mobius in _form_ are Testaments, but in _concept,_ they're basically Gnosis! Which isn't an argument, just to say that they're extremely in line with many long-term Xeno concepts.
@@Iinneus I don't think it was explicitly stated but it was implied that the Testaments are Gnosis just with stronger wills that allowed them to keep their minds intact. It's why they manifest Gnosis forms when you fight them. Heck when you fight the Blue Testament in Episode 1 his battle icon is a Gnosis one. I don't remember if episode 3 did that for them though. Wilhelm is also basically the same as Z even to the point that he wants to keep the world in a perpetual cycle in order to protect what's left of the world. He's afraid of letting the world move into the future because he believes there is only the universe's demise in that future. Resetting the world over and over again is the only way he sees that the world can be preserved even if people live the same lives over and over again with little to no change each cycle. It's because the party is an anomaly from previous cycles that he is defeated much like the party of XB3 is an anomaly compared to the previous ones that tried to beat Z. I also think what makes the Testament more interesting is that each one is connected to one or more of the main characters and plays off their fears and insecurities from their pasts. This is the reason why some of the Moebius like N, M, D, and J work better, but others just feel like fodder by comparison. The concept works better if there's a smaller number of them, but if there's too many of them it weakens it. I think this is why people think Moebius are kind of weak villains even though N is one of the best villains in the entire series.
@@SacrificAbominat It's funny, the Xenosaga 3 Perfect Guide specifically mentions the whole "are Testaments Gnosis?" thing (the outcome being "only if we expand the definition"; it's in the entry for Abel's Ark). But I agree, all of Moebius is spread very thin, but I like them nonetheless!
Going off the idea of Moebius A being the antagonist from xenoblade 4. I think it would be a cool idea if Moebuius A was hunting the Trinity processor cores to bring back the conduit. to try to attempt to re-create klaus experiment or perform a new experiment.
It’s been a while since I played the game but back then I thought A felt very Moebius without technically being one. A is a consciousness taken from its original “host” and retaining all memories from its past incarnations - just as the other Consuls/Moebius. So if there’s only a limited amount of Moebius operable at any given time (probably 26 - which could very well be explained by some limitations as on how Origin works) it might well be that the spot for “A” is just taken by an entity that isn’t Moebius but shares the same characteristics.
14:35 another reason why i don't think aionios is a moebius is that lucky seven indicates to noah, specifically in origin, that the entire place may be moebius, but not anywhere else Also, being optimistic i'd say the nickname A is not available so A is existing somewhere (i don't truly believe this)
another great video! I personally subscribed to the idea of Alpha being Moebius A, something like Ontos being the beginning of the fear that eventually manifests as Z, the one who enforces the will of Moebius. As well as Origin coming from Ontos, making Ontos the origin of Moebius in that sense. I also think Moebius A's place is perhaps "taken" by A, and Z doesn't necessarily decide against creating actual Moebius As out of respect, but because he *can't*. because only A and Alpha can be the beginning. Or something. The idea that Moebius A is someone Z anticipates will appear in the future because Moebius are created backwards from Z to A is a really interesting one, but I think you could also interpret it as Z still being the final manifestation of Moebius' will. Maybe Moebius B-W "existed" in the form of the wills of people in Aionios before Z first appeared, which created strong enough emotions to manifest XYZ. and that's why Moebius B-W are taken from Aionios, because the wills of normal people are what made up those stages of Moebius in the first place. I hope that made some kind of sense, your videos always make wording this stuff look so easy!
It's probably going to sound mean but really isn't supposed to be, I think it's so funny how Luxin kept a handwritten list with all Moebius names instead of writing it on his phone, kinda reminds me of my mom who is very bad at using technology (but I'm pretty sure Luxin isn't similar in this way to my mom)
Considering it's A that's the missing moebius, which may or may not be alpha for one reason or another, it reminds of a different alpha from a different series. Alphamon of the royal knights from the Digimon series. Alpahamon is considered to be the leader of the knights and yet is often missing from their number unless something ig is going down. This earned him the title of "aloof hermit" and his place among the knights is called the empty seat. Feels similar to the idea that alpha is the god of the moebius and yet is apart from them. Just a little connection this video sparked in my head
I think its just Z didnt want to be reminded of A. But I do think there originally was a consule A who was killed before future redeemed as it would be weird for Z to tell consuls there are 26 and the game to note so. Likely while A isnt a moebius, A's existence sorta does psuedo take that spot and while yes A isnt necessarily short for anything, shulk does call A "alvis". They even had Z call Alpha/ontos his god establishing a connection. There is a reason imo they named A, A and it's for good reason
I always interpreted it as Alpha *AND* Alvis being Moebius A, depending specifically on which point in time you're looking at. Not only is the entirety of Origin built from the ground up around him, but Alpha basically is just Zarathustra - Xenoblade edition in terms of purpose and motive, and probably would be responsible for the Blade side of the time loop making sense if Xenochronicles actually winds up being a thing and both Ouroboros and Shion fail simultaneously. Then, you have Alvis hosting Origin alongside Shulk and Rex for like 900 years, meaning they're facilitating the endless now through mere existence. Even if A doesn't consider themself Moebius, That doesn't mean Z doesn't.
Moebius A is just... Aionios? I feel like that's not too far fetched tbh If Mira can be sentient and alive, so can Aionios. It is even fueled by the people's feelings, just like the rest of the moebius
"There is no 'Consul Ñ'" And yet we were suspiciously close to having a 'Consul Œ.' (Look up what that letter is called. Usually it's just a ligature used when Romanizing Greek, but in English specifically, along with other Germanic languages, it was also its own full letter with its own name.) "Probably reported directly to M." This makes my playthrough of Fiona's quest at the very beginning of Chapter 6 even funnier.
@@lpfan4491 I know of Eszett, though it's also kind of a ligature between a normal s and a "long" s, which is why it's capitalization behavior has frustrated many programmers as it's treated as a letter in lower case, but decomposes to its two component S's when capitalized. I don't know if any of the other letters you have have their own names or in which languages, or if they're just identified as the base vowels with diacritics. Also while the long s has actually been used historically in English, I don't know if Eszett was, and I don't think English has ever used umlauts outside of loan words, but it has used dieresis, but that's more to distinguish letters from digraphs rather than as entirely separate letters.
@@angeldude101 I have never heard of it ever being capitalized outside of all-caps, so when I have to implement ß into something, I just have a normal one and a slightly bigger one as the fonts iirc.
1) I've thought about this for a while, and I think Monolith just knew they had a character named A planned for the dlc, and having another character named A in the main game would potentially be confusing so they did not include a Mobius A. As far as the list is concerned, I assume it was just missed because it was a very minor bit of text in a massive game, or they just knew people would expect 26 names from an organization themed on the alphabet and didn't worry about too much about it because it's fairly non-specific. The list could also be about Mobius candidates rather than actual members. There can't be more than 26 of them at a time, but they keep an eye on potential replacements. 2) I'm fairly certain Cammuravi's colony was named Alpha, but I don't remember where I heard that. I think it was either the cutscene where we see him solo the no-name Kevsi colony or his duel with Ethel where she spares him, but it may have been random dialogue.
Mobius Z represents and wants the endless now. Alpha does not want the endless now but would like a new world, this could mean he is Mobius A. Only one of them can be present/ rule at any given time making them literal opposites such as the beginning and end. One or the other.
Here’s a strange take, Consul/Moebius A is to represent August Ferdinand Möbius. I mean Z could actually have had access to this information from curiously peering into Origin’s Earth data.
On your last point, A from Future Redeem could have been Mobius A because if they became Mobius that means Mobius wins and the Endless Now exists forever. A symbolic win by leaving A open until A falls like Noah did.
The answer is simpler than you think imo Luxin. Takahashi was simplly 'foreshadowing' the integral aspect of Alpha-Alvis to be explored in DLC BY NOT giving a seat to Mobeius A and letting people ponder 'WHY A is missing' and then hopefully theorizing a possible integration of Alvis in the DLC. They merely wanted to show how central Alvis is to this reality of 'apparently' Z's making
I found a video while back, who's creator's name escaped me, but their theory was that all of the Moebius/Consul members represent Code to help run Origin. This is why they use the first letter of their name. This include Alvis/Alpha, even though who wasn't a Moebius as not only his first name start with A, but foundation of Origin started with him. This is the reason why Z had to replace his fallen Moebius as he needs someone to fill in the role to help run Origin. I try my best to find that video so you can see it what I'm trying to say.
If Z did go in reverse order I'll be funny if he purposely stopped before doing Moebius A because reaching A means reaching an END and as we know he is allergic to that by principle of existing
And alvis really doesn't like stagnation
I just assumed that since Z saw Alvis/Alpha as his god he never set anyone as A as a sign of respect. I never knew there was the “26 people” line.
My funny headcanon is just that no one that had a name that started with the letter A wanted to become Moebius. The whole naming system is funny af. "Sorry Noah, N is already taken. Better luck next time."
Z: Sorry Noah, we have an opening for Moebius M but not N. So we'll take Mio and let you go.
Noah? More like Aoah
Haha. I wish. IMO it's likely that the devs didn't want to confuse the hell out of people even further by having a Mobius A so they left A for Alpha and "A" of course.
Pfp (Profile picture) and / or Banner Sauce (Source [Artist])? 🗿
I thought the same thing lol 😆
I just wish Nopon could've been Moebius so we could have Moebius B just the 2 Bana from XC1 and XC2 stacked on top of each other in an ill-fitting suit
"We are consuls B and B!"
Shulk and Rex:"Come on, this has to be a joke."
Given we had no Bana in 3. . .that would have been perfect.
And more importantly we could've had a Nopon Moebius suit, whch is infinitely cute.
like 3 nopon in a trench coat lol
I think considering A's full quote "It has the nuance of 'the one at the beginning'. In this world, only I and Alpha can claim that honor.", I think this almost necessitates that a Moebius A doesn't actually exist. It almost sounds as if A is describing something of a fundamental law of Aionios in this quote, which makes it all the more curious why there would be a list of all the moebius including a moebius A.

As of the artbook we know there are significant plot mechanics that are deliberately not explained, so I hope Xenoblade 4 sheds more light on this.
People always ask " who is moebius A " but never ask " How is moebius A " 😢
It might be difficult if you don't even know who Moebius A is 😅.
I’ll do you one better: “Why is Moebius A?”
The process could go something like this:
Z naming the Moebius- I operate best with simple programming language. All my Moebius will be named from A to Z.
*Z wants to create a Moebius A, but title A is already in use by the Ontos core in the system. Encounters something akin to a, "Word cannot give a document the same name as an open document" error and eventually just moves on.*
Later, Irma- I see Moebius C, S, and J are all currently unfilled. What about A?
X, Y, Z, or one of the non-original Moebius just repeating what they were told- A is occupied.
Irma- Got it. *Labels A as a Moebius.*
And for meta, because the meta value is always worth evaluating in Xenoblade these days, we, as the player, and handed the same mistaken preconceived notion as Irma was.
Makes sense that there's no Consul Ñ; we already effectively have a Consul Nyaa~.

mobieus A was the friends we made along the a
Hell, Moebius itself was inside us the whole time
No
Luxin, you forgot one very important possibility.
Moebius A is the Archsage.
Colony Ç: the scariest place in Aionios (they speak french)
I like to think Z planned to have the crew be named after the alfabet, but he never found anyone that started with A that would want to become Moebius.
I like to think Z intentionally skipped A after what happened with Alvis/Alpha/A.
A cursed letter lol
13:27 the bigger thing is all the Greek myth symbolism that was localized into 2
Its very possible that when Shulk, Rex and A took on Alpha's roles as the spirit of Origin, they continued to seal Z.
1. The Fog King
2. Vandham (XC2) final lesson to Rex.
3. Who is Moebius A

So.. first time commenting here. I've watched every other Luxin video because of my Xeno obsession. And not gonna lie, you caught me off guard when you said "Consul Ñ" xD
Spanish is my mother tongue, so I didn't expect that :)
Xenoblade 4: A was secretly evil
Im typing this before watching the video but I remember before the first trailers for future redeemed dropped i thought "moebius a is aionios itself" as a joke at first but dwelling on it kinda made it make sense (and i still to an extent hold that belief after playing thru it) so i am interested to see what you have to say
EDIT: literally said "no way" out loud later in the video (i didnt know about the shu dialogue before and after hearing what you have to say i now see the error of my ways) BUT saying moebius A is Aionios itself is pretty cool sounding yknow
21:43 when you mentioned negative energy for some possible Moebius A in the future, the word animosity instantly came into my head since you mentioned ethnic/cultural differences in most Xeno games.
There was a Mobius A
Origin is just a computer.
A: being a drive location that Z can't replace as the OS is installed on drive A(A/Alpha in origin)
"so this is coloney Alpha-"
Z: "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, NO NO NO NO NO NO NO"
I figured the last mobeus IS Alpha/A and is the key to rebooting the worlds (A/Alpha/Monado all representing beginnings). Zed names the mobeus starting from the end of the alphabet because he's actively trying to keep the reboot from occurring.
Consul Ñ: Literally just N/oah with a sombrero
Dios mio
My theory is that, as one of the most common Japanese words for "you" begins with A, consul A is the player.
Works even better if you happen to have a name starting with A... which I do.
Funny thing is my name is Noah as well
A is the Moebius part of Ontos, as they fight to preserve the Endless Now, but only until humanity reach a consensus about how the future should be.
My headcanon of the situation was that A is considered by Z to be his kin because they are currently (alongside Shulk and Rex) making sure the Aionios doesn't *collapse into itself*, a very important job when it comes to mantaining Aionios's continued existence. Their final motives are different (stopping it from destroying itself in order to mantain it for eternity vs doing it so that it can be extinguished properly when the time comes), but A's existence mantaining Origin is ultimately essential for Z's Eternal Now
Oh god, it's Allen.
Clearly, Consul A is the man in Josuke's flashback in Part 8
No way!
I’m so happy you are making more Xenoblade 3 videos. It’s such an interesting game to make theories about.
Just ideas I thought I should put down
“Explicitly uses English alphabet”
RIP Consul Ð and Consul Þ 😔
Literally there is no Moebius A. Thematically though Alpha fits the mold. He essentially wanted to live the The Endless Now, but with different people.
I like the implication that we'll see Moebius A in the next Xeno game. Just for like, some random sidequest.
I mean Aionios itself being moebius A would make sense with aionios/Moebius A being the beginning of everything and Moebius Z being the way to end it all.
Lucky 7 detect the moebius energy, if Aionios is moebius A, the lucky 7 never shows signs of detect it.
I'd like to imagine that the list of consul names was just the alphabet printed on an otherwise blank sheet of paper
I feel like it is A just wasn’t met by the main party. Excellent video regardless of differing opinions
I feel like A could just be mobius A since in a way becoming an avatar of aionios is preserving the endless now regardless of the intention being to preserve it so others can come and end things for real later
Oh boy, nearly 2am for the newest Luxin video
A was at the beginning of Xenoblade/Klaus saga and Z was at the end
Moebius A will be the Player's Character in the new Xenoblade Chronicles Gacha game
Come on guys.. Moebius A are the friends we met along the way...
20:42 it also lacks any part of the trinity processor to power those feelings.
14:35 another reason why i don't think aionios is a moebius is that lucky seven indicates to noah, specifically in origin, that the entire place may be moebius, but not anywhere else
Also, being optimistic i'd say the nickname A is not available so A is existing somewhere (i don't truly believe this)
Oh boy it's midnight time for a new Luxin video
Yoooo same
Yea same
Rookie numbers. Three in the morning
another great video!
Didn't watch it yet but imo Aionios is Consol A
Probably says sonething to that effect it in the vid but eh
yea
@@mugs3608 that's exactly what I thought after the base game. I always think back to when N said "Moebius is the world itself"
As an aside I just noticed the significance of the Queens being named Melia and Nia: another pair of N and M names
TFW it's Mobius Alan.
I love Luxin video
I think its just Z didnt want to be reminded of A. But I do think there originally was a consule A who was killed before future redeemed as it would be weird for Z to tell consuls there are 26 and the game to note so. Likely while A isnt a moebius, A's existence sorta does psuedo take that spot and while yes A isnt necessarily short for anything, shulk does call A "alvis". They even had Z call Alpha/ontos his god establishing a connection. There is a reason imo they named A, A and it's for good reason
Now we wait for Luxin's next video "So who ACTUALLY was Mythra's kid anyway?".
Tbh, I never thought about a “Moebius A”. Moebius or no, A is still a cool character. She and all the cast were excellent.
Moebius A is just... Aionios?
I feel like that's not too far fetched tbh
If Mira can be sentient and alive, so can Aionios. It is even fueled by the people's feelings, just like the rest of the moebius
"There is no 'Consul Ñ'" And yet we were suspiciously close to having a 'Consul Œ.' (Look up what that letter is called. Usually it's just a ligature used when Romanizing Greek, but in English specifically, along with other Germanic languages, it was also its own full letter with its own name.)
"Probably reported directly to M." This makes my playthrough of Fiona's quest at the very beginning of Chapter 6 even funnier.
Where are Consuls Ä,Ö,Ü and ß? Smh
Mobius A... A for "AftermAth"? "mirAi" (Japanese for future)? A for "mirAcle"?
Or because I'm desperate for XCX-2, A for "Alien" or "MirA"!
Cammuravi's Colony was Delta
Que lastima que no haya möbius ñ.
😞
Mobius Z represents and wants the endless now. Alpha does not want the endless now but would like a new world, this could mean he is Mobius A.
Only one of them can be present/ rule at any given time making them literal opposites such as the beginning and end. One or the other.
I just want to say, as a Spanish speaker myself, that Ñ pronunciation was pretty good
Here’s a strange take, Consul/Moebius A is to represent August Ferdinand Möbius.
I mean Z could actually have had access to this information from curiously peering into Origin’s Earth data.
Monolith is saving Mobius A (and Mythra’s kid) as the antagonist for the inevitable Xenoblade Warriors game (and Mythra’s kid too)
Maybe consul A is all the friends we made along the way
On your last point, A from Future Redeem could have been Mobius A because if they became Mobius that means Mobius wins and the Endless Now exists forever.
I like to believe that Z is just very petty and refuses to make another A after that nonsense he had to deal with 1,000 years ago.
I really wish Consul Q had been voiced by John De Lancie. There's no way that they would or could have done it, but it would've been really funny.
Since Z was the first Moebius and went backwards from there. Maybe the reason why there's no A is because that would be the last, the end.
