I love your kitchen. So beautiful, light, and airy. I love to see you interact with Haku, he reminds me so much of the cat I had growing up. He was Maine Coon and was the same coloring just without the white. He always would bat at people with his "powder-puff" paws, never used his nails. I could carry him around like a baby, and he was happy just as long as he was getting attention.

Jun you and Rachel always make me so happy with your content and your videos always put a smile on my face (and let’s not forget about the cats, peachy is my favourite but I’m not sure if that’s how you spell her name, sorry). After a while I’m guessing messages like this get a bit frustrating because you’ve had such a big impact on so many people we all want to show you our appreciation😂. Hope you have a good day.

Your new kitchen is HUGE! After seeing you in your other, much smaller kitchens, I wasn’t expecting it to be so big! Needless to say, it looks beautiful and I can’t wait to see what more you have planned for it. Congratulations on the new home-I’m so happy for you both! (and the cats too of course 🐈 )
Also, just to add-I was in just as much awe looking at that knife collection as I was the kitchen. Your magnetic knife holder is perfect for showing them off!

I love how whenever there's a cut in the video you notice a cat suddenly appear on a shelf or disappear 😅
It was so cute when Haku helped at 5:24😻 And congratulations on your beautiful and appropriately sized kitchen.
Perhaps I'm being overly cautious, but that bit does make me nervous about whether a cat could reach down like that and knock a knife loose somehow. It does look amazing though.
@@Faranya I think the magnets he used were very strong though, it would probably take more than a cat swiping at the knives for it to fall
@@Faranya this is Jun’s cats we r talking abt tho. I’m already so impressed how they manage to keep the glasswares(?) on the shelf without them getting knocked off.
Jun has the most well behaved cats. Or they r doing something right at teaching the kitties!
Haku really deserves the credit for this project; Jun was the assistant.
@@Faranya you can tell he closed the gap between the shelf and wall after he hung the knives up, so no wandering paws can easily touch the knives below

Love watching your vids! A small tip, if you drill into something on your counter, I would be sure to put an extra thing of wood in between the two! I’ve known people to drill into something and accidentally go too far and damage the surface they’re using. Putting an extra layer of wood is just extra protection for those beautiful countertops!!
Totally agree. One small mistake and the new kitchen counter has a gouge in it! Fortunately that didn’t happen, but it’s not worth taking the risk.
absolutely! I almost had heart failure when I realised he was drilling on top of the beautiful counter top. When he mentioned sanding I said out loud- please go outside for that.
With the new high ceiling, Jun now looks like an average sized person in his kitchen hahaha

@@JunYoshizuki I know it's a year late, but I did not see if you checked the polarity of each magnet before placing. If they are aligned, (positive or negative all forward) it can help make the field stronger.
The new kitchen looks really good. I feel like some decoration and stuff would make it look better but that can wait.

It's so heartwarming to finally see you guys in your own dream house that was custom made just for you. From apartments that the only outside you have is a balcony and now you have a garden where you have more space to do your DIY stuff, it makes me so happy to see! Thank you for sharing this with us
It is so wonderful that you two are back again! Jun, your kitchen looks amazing and I can't wait to see it in use. (No doubt you are eager as well) I think your knife board is really creative. I would never have thought about putting the magnets behind the board and them still being able to hold the knives. functional and aesthetically pleasing. Excellent job! This was really cool! How do you keep the kitties from batting at the knife block though? Or do they not care about knives? My cats will bat at anything, so I have to be careful to tuck all dangerous things away inside drawers

I would like to purchase iron shelf flames which you use. Where did you get them? ( I live in Japan and have seven cats😺)
If you find any problems in the future in holding up the knives, switch to neodymium magnets. They are strong as heck and you won't need as many. Also it would be better for the cats, there's a space where they can paw at the knives. God forbid they knock one off when another kitty is under the knife rack. So the neodymium magnets would be safer for the cats.
My question is: Can you stick a GoPro onto that fan for some overhead shots of the stove?
As for the magnetic knife block, neodymium magnets might be stronger if ever you want to replace them. Might be safer during earthquakes too.

It's so good to see you with your dream kitchen, Jun! As another tall person, I completely relate to hitting foreheads on fans. Mine is right at forehead level (which, I admit I've taken advantage of when I was sick but having to cook, as a stabilizer lol)

I think my favorite things are the small fluffy things that keep moving around, what great decorations for a kitchen! I hadn’t even thought of adding adorable loafs as kitchen decor!

Jun, I admire your work ethic and talent and ingenuity, and I love the way you treat your cats. I'm mostly just an American couch potato myself, but you have inspired and motivated me (on multiple occasions) to get off my ass and do something constructive, and for that I wish to thank you. It seems to me that all of your creations are made with love and care; for that reason alone, Rachel should never be stingy with her 10-out-of-10 ratings (but don't get me wrong...she is also great).

I have no cats and I do not know their behaviour, but I am a little worried they might accidentally bump or jump into the edges of the knives.

hi, I'm worried the knives might fall on the cats if they lick some leftover food on the knives or plays with the knives and it comes off the magnet and falls on them. maybe putting the magnet knife holder lower will be safer?
