dudes that is John Paul Jones. you hear......................he is the greatest musician of ALL time....he plays the bass....organs........pianos.............and mandalin guitar,......funky bass too
That is the bass my friends. Definitely the most under appreciated instrument in a band. Understandable since most of the time it takes a back seat to the others and can just kind of blend in to the background. But that doesn’t mean it’s any less awesome, hope you do more bass heavy songs in the future (The Lemon Song is a really good one). And John Paul Jones is one of the best to ever do it.
I love you guys so much I am a huge zep fan. Started listening to them when I was 10. You both are a breath of fresh air and are shining light and to see you truly love an experience Led Zeppelin brings me so much joy so much. Zep rules.
I wish also! Also btw if you haven't watched or read The Lord of the Rings, the reference to Mordor is from it. LZ loved the books and used a lot of LOTR references😊
Memories of my youth. What great music we had in those heady days. Thanks for your reactions. You guys are layed back and fun. How awesome your generation gets passed the torch and can actually appreciate greatness from another generation and time.
It's hard to believe that there versatility was so vast! They had so many different sounds and songs, they always kept my interest in every album I listen to. They played so many instruments! Please look them up, it WILL blow your mind. For me, this is why so many of us that are older really think Led Zeppelin and a few other bands from that time ARE ROCK GODS OF THERE TIME! THEY DIDN'T HAVE ALL THE TECHNOLOGY OF TODAY, WHICH MAKES IT MORE AMAZING OF HOW THEY MADE ALL THE MUSIC THEY DID!! I am so glad all of you younger kids are listening to all of this for the first time with real appreciation! THIS IS HOW THE MUSIC LIVES ON! ENJOY!
Good haircut Zay. This song had a bit of inspiration from Lord of the Rings when Robert mentions Mordor, and Gollum. I love the acoustic guitar throughout. Instead of drums in the beginning, Bonzo is pattering away on something else to give that light tapping sound. There are several theories as to what the item was; some say a garbage can, or a guitar case, a chair seat, his knees, etc., but the explanation I've heard most often is a guitar case. Those bass punches are killer! This song is beautifully crafted and I would say a majority of their songs are exactly that - they're crafted with a lot of thought put into each one to get the right sound, the overdubs, everything. Jimmy Page produced all their albums and he put everything he had into all aspects of the group. Here's a video I found on how to do audio. I only watched a couple of minutes so don't know if it will work for you guys, but check it out and if it doesn't work, clearly there are tutorials on how to do it if you search. ua-cam.com/video/VjBk1ZqbamY/v-deo.html
This one came out when radio stations requested 3 minute songs so that they could fit more songs and more commercials within on hour of airtime. Songs of successful bands got longer in the early 70's and stations played them anyway.
Have fun. I’m 37 and started listening to Led Zeppelin when I was 15. I still have my mind blown daily by them. Ramble on is a “single” radio friendly song. Personally I like the deep cut stuff like “How Many More Times”. Since you guys are starting Pink Floyd, I recommend live at Pompeii.
This is one of my favorite road trip songs. I still spend a lot of time in the car with music. You do what's gonna work for you. Just follow directions and .... Ramble on like the man said.
Great music never gets old. This came out when I was 15 and everyone in my (strangely) diverse neighborhood for those times...jammed to this shit! Some years later this was my exit theme song on my way out of a doomed relationship, lol
We love seeing a new generation appreciate the music that made us happy too. Music with real meat from real fingers on wood, strings, ect, and no auto tune and drum machines. Nice to know younger people still have the ability to recognize talent from the past. Thank you.
Hey I'm like an old guy and I am so happy you young guys and girls are putting this stuff out please don't let this music be forgotten and you guys are carrying it on who would have thought outstanding performance love you guys let's spread it to the younger generation rock and roll will never die and Boston's first album is the greatest album in the world I'll get back
You Guys are the Bomb...love your reactions, your so excited and surperized when you experience each Zep song. I love that you have such a great experience ahead of you. I'm really happy for you for opening your minds up to experience different genes ...Keep Going...
If you guys ever want to learn more about this song, there's a music industry guy named Rick Beato who does a series of UA-cam videos called "what makes this song great." He did Ramble On and Whole Lotta Love by LZ. Isolates and breaks down each instrument and how the songs are put together. Really awesome.
One of the many great things about Rick is that you could be a novice musician, or just a listener, and you will still understand what he is talking about.
I’m 55 years old and grew up with this music. I love the fact that you bro’s are in the car!!! If you’re going to open Pandora’s box of classic rock you best be buckling up. I’ll throw a few recommendations your way. Love the reactions keep up the hard work
Lookin Good! 🤪 one can not put into words what, and how good L.Z. Is! You guys will love Pink Floyd! Envy you guys hearing L.Z. For the first time! 😎👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
It's All good sweethearts... I kind of like the simplicity of your listening experience.. I believe both of you get the gist of our led Zeppelin and now yours..
Listening to all this great music in your car is the best way! You might even try driving the highway while listening, just keep your foot light on the gas pedal! 😁
Hey man, I'm 62 and I am listening to you guys. I have to tell you that you guys are Cool Cats. Hope you are really rocking to music. All this music originated from the brothers playing blues back in the day. You are right about the headphone thing. Headphones were for after partying. You know when you got back home late at night. Slap that me ee vinyl on. Rock on fellows and play some J Geils from their live full house album. And more Humble pie mainly Steve Marriott. " Rocking the Fillmore"
I actually love that you do the videos in the car. I want you to make a ton of money and get good tech, though, but just because I want you to be able to hear the music in high quality!
Headphones are perfect for some songs, like Autobahn, and Baba O'Reilly, and Pink Floyd. But cars and cheap speakers and 8-tracks were our theme-park, so don't sweat it, bros.
the sound system in your car is 50 years better than what most of us heard this music on. Other than an am car radio, I heard it all on portable stereo record player speakers...sometimes with the speakers detached from the body and placed on the floor so I could lay down with my head between them.
Love the reactions still! What is and what should never be, Black dog, and Moby Dick (AMAZING DRUMS in this one) should be some next Zep songs to listen too. YESSSS Pink Floyd will only change your life more! Highly recommend if you do any songs from Dark Side of the Moon album to try and listen to them all at once from start of the album to the end at least once. That is how the album is meant to be heard but understand you may not want to react to it that way. At some point you have to hear it that way though after your reactions to the songs off that album and you’ll have a better understanding of the concept for it.
If you have a halfway decent sound system set up in your car with rear and side speakers and amplifier it should be alright. Problem is the sound isn't transferring out here to well. A good car sound system is every bit as good as headphones.
One of my favorite Zep songs. Some of the lyrics are taken from "The Hobbit". Jimmy Page was a session guitarist for many years before the Yardbirds and Zeppelin. He played on a bunch of popular songs from the early to mid 60s. Check him out on some Yardbirds songs.
This is the iconic beautiful bass song. Zep people always talk about the virtuosos or leaders, Page Plant Bonham. But John Paul Jones is always there doing this beautiful stuff, beautiful arrangements. He's grossly underrated. He wrote the riff to Black Dog. Listen Heartbreaker for the nastiest sleaziest bass ever.
Headphones are great but a good open sound car system is great as well.. As long as you don't listen to it on a bad sound like a tiny speaker phone ,you are fine ...CD sound is the best convenient sound I think and this older music needs the best sound system to get the most from it ..
4 black brothers with a white drummer created this ICONIC Masterpiece from the 60’s Psychedelic Era Trust me…. You do not want your life to end without hearing this song. “TIME HAS COME TODAY“- The Chambers Brothers - Album Long version, then Live. PLEASE and Thank You. After you will be thanking me. Ritchie Blackmore was one of the greatest guitar players of all time. But, if you choose to do their Smoke on the Water, *please* research it on songfacts first. Song has an amazing and tragic backstory. And so many reactors look like idiots, trying to guess the songs meaning.
Another Zeppelin banger! This one peppered with references to Lord of the Rings. I think maybe checking something with your audio as Robert’s voice is not as muted as he sounded here. Lovin’ your reactions guys!! Peace
I (Zay) used to play the drums! Haven’t touched it in a while and i will get back to it haha but it’s one of my passions and I love it so much! It makes me appreciate all instruments with love!
Cool! drummers can spot other drummers.❤Well I say I am but after 5years I'm just now getting through easy songs.I really have to give it my all I'm not a natural and I started learning later in life. I'm all in I'll never stop drumming.
An Important Thing To Know About Pink Floyd:: They Have The Unique Ability To Take Your Mind Off On A Journey Through The Universe..No Place Is Off Limits..Don't Be Surprised If You Feel Feelings You Didn't Even Know You Had..Which Is Exactly What Makes Them Absolutely Legendary Music Icons.
Cool reaction to a magical song, and i don't say that only because of Robert's evocative lyrics about Middle Earth and suchlike. The bass IS sooo sweet. If you want to hear a DIRTY bass, like NASTY, and groovy-sexy, and all that jazz (jazzy too, I guess!) check out The Lemon Song, man! EVERYTHING in that song is rocking and awesome, but John Paul Jones and his bass may be the standout in that tune, which begins with a damn GONG and a crawling, menacing guitar riff, then speeds up like it was zapped by Texas lightning then slows down like Mississippi Mud, and then does it all over again...I also shouted out The Lemon Song a few minutes ago in my comments for your Whole Lotta Love reaction, so I got it on my mind and in my ear. You guys need to, too, lol! We keep appreciatin' y'all's appreciation! For the record (so to speak), I dont begrudge you guys not having headphones for these. You say your car has kick-ass audio, so that works well then. And You're right, a lot of us DID sit in parked cars for long spells cranking up (I almost said "lighting up...") amd jamming out to all kinds of great tunes back in the day. We had face-to-face-to-facebook....
Watching these 2 best friends jamming out to classic Zeppelin is priceless :

He sure is!
The best band is the best to ever do it lol.
"What Is And What Should Never Be" also has an awesome bass part by John Paul Jones.
John Paul was one of the best
JPJ all day long! He and Bonham created the Rhythm Section of the Gods!

"Light" and "Shade" - Zep's signature style.....heavy + light.
My favorite LZ song of all time! Bass Line is killer!
What is that? That’s the #goats of rock and roll doing GOAT things. Love watching y’all’s journey.
WHOLE LOTTA LOVE LED ZEPPELIN

After that, do the 2Cellos version.
It is *hysterical* to watch!😜
Ramble on one of my favorites and my son’s! Glad I raised my children on Zeppelun! The best!!! Try listening to Yes, they are awesome too’!!!
73 Oldsmobile Cutlass with Jensen Coaxial speakers in the back deck being pushed by a Pioneer cassette deck was how I listened to this.
My favorite band! Rock on!!!
Still a popular radio song today after 53 years! That’s like 2 1/2 of y’all’s lifetimes!
My favorite all time Zep song!! Glad you heard it!
Love seeing young folks enjoying the great music I've enjoyed for decades 👍
Come back Zay and Zel. Come back and show us what songs you've listened to over the last two years. COME BACK!
I wish also! Also btw if you haven't watched or read The Lord of the Rings, the reference to Mordor is from it. LZ loved the books and used a lot of LOTR references😊
It's great to see young people enjoy oldies but greaties!
I turned 72 today. I spent hours watching you guys do the same thing I did 56 years ago. I said" Who the duck are these guys"?
This was always a nostalgic song for me... Going off to school or leaving home... Great vibes and song about the seasons of life

Led Zeppelin is one of the Best bands ever put out there. Every song Kicks butt. !!
When Giants Walked the Earth. One of the books about them.
Led Zeppelin, NO Quarter live at MSG. A must listen. With headphones.

John Paul Jones kills it on Bass. And some of the lyrics are references from JRR Tolkien Lord of the Rings.
You guys really need do to No Quarter by them
Just listen to those instruments 🫠
Keep ramblin!
🎸
Thanks for more Led Zeppelin 😊
Big up the love for JPJ!
One of my favorite Led Zeppelin songs.
Pink Floyd-David Gilmour-Comfortably Numb-Pulse tour 1994 - Greatest solo of all time
This one has Lord Of The Rings references! JPJ on the bass...stunning! Yep that pausing...the bass!
The triplets on the bass drum accented by the bass guitar MAKES this tune!!!
yeah that’s that delay they’re talking about, the triplet hesi before the bass kicks in. For sure a great detail. Jpj owns this tune.
Love you guys! You do a great job. I'm a 60-year-old man. You cats are bringing back memories.
Appreciate you man!!! 🎸❤️
Just about impossible to go wrong with Led Zeppelin. Looking forward to more reactions. They have a lot of amazing content left
This tune takes me back to the Autumn of my junior year in high school (In the car!). Enjoy the tunes fellas. God bless!
