This video was so informational. Please make more of these comparison videos with an emphasis on quality. That's really the differentiating factor. So many channels make comparison videos with no mention of how the product holds up over time after washing and wearing. This is exactly what I need!!! Would love to see one for denim, leather boots or loafers, slip-on sneakers, and merino wool.
Thank you! This is wonderful to hear. Please subscribe and stay tuned for more!
Just a heads up, Editorialist completely stole this idea from a British influencer Lizzy Hadfield's 'Testing Basics' youtube series (without any credit)
Unfortunately, since most channels have to have a constant stream of reviews/new products the durability of a garment is rarely mentioned.
Which is sad since durability is the Achilles Heel of cashmere.
Okay right off the bat you mentioned cashmere fiber comes from goats that live in harsh climates like China, Mongolia and Iran AND ALSO KASHMIR. The word cashmere comes from "Kashmiri" goat. Kashmiri means from the region of Kashmir. You neglected to mention where it even originated.
Would love to see a comparison video for silk skirts featuring Lilysilk and other brands!
I just want to clarify washing process of Loro Piana sweater (I own multiple of them). 1) Use LP shampoo. 2) Put the sweater into the protection bag (I use for many years Wolford laundry bags & can recommend them). 3) Always use the “Wool/Handwash” program. I don’t understand how she didn’t notice that she has one…. 4) After washing always reshape the sweater & lay flat for drying.
Maybe next time you will include Gabriela Hearst knitwear (especially her cashmere/silk light sweaters) - they are amazing too!
Great video! Greetings from Germany!
I have learned so much about cashmere this videos will help me with my next cashmere. Can’t wait to see more videos like this.
Thank you so much Rayana! Please subscribe to our channel to stay tuned for more
My favorite is one that is good to the animals. They are priority over anything for me. Glad that one was the best pick overall. Can't wait to get one. I hope they do recycled cashmere in the future or have a bigger market of preloved sweaters. I use my cashmere everyday in winter. Piling is the problem. I find it needs to be washed less often which is nice. Another point for sustainability. It doesn't trap any smells especially if you wear layers. Thanks for the helpful video :)
That is wonderful so hear! Thank you so much!
This was recommended to me in my feed and I’m so glad. Great review! I have two of the Nadaam sweaters and really love them but my cashmere experience is definitely limited. I find they pill easily in the armpit area (i’m bigger so a lot more friction there) but have so far held up well. Definitely going to eye Everlane and Naked for the future
Hi Samantha! This is wonderful. Nadaam, Everlane and Naked are definitely amazing and easy to style. We can't wait to see you wear your new cashmere sweaters. Make sure to tag us on Instagram @editorialistmagazine to see your look!
Would be nice to revisit these in a year and see how each of them are holding up. A lot of the cheap/mid-level cashmere does not hold up very well with regular wear.
My understanding is that the most durable cashmere tends to be (relatively) uncomfortable out of the box and breaks in.
Loved this - so informative! Where is the long cardigan in the video from?
I looooooooove cashmere, but since I moved from the UK to SE Asia, there haven’t been many opportunities to wear them, maybe once or twice a year in the region where I live, as I doesn’t usually get colder than 9-10 degrees. So, now I have other home items in cashmere, like cushion covers, pillowcases etc. I also have soft toys custom knitted in pure cashmere, just to satisfy my inner craving for cashmere hahaha.
Excellent. Very informative. Made me a subscriber.
This is amazing to hear! Thank you Kathryn.
If you ever do a part 2 video, consider the cashmere sweaters at Garin Cashmere, they are incredibly, buttery soft, beautifully designed, and can also be gently machine washed!
Fun to see such an in depth test. So thumbs up. Just a FYI, you're supposed to remove the metal brand tag. It just for when in stores :) The same goes for many luxury items like jackets, shirts etc, remove the tag when you've decided to keep it and is not intended to stay on.
Great review
Thank you for testing it! I just got the Joslyn by Naked Cashmere. I've been dreaming of a soft and slightly oversized cashmere sweater for many years! I got $65 off today too! What size was yours? I got a small and I'm a size 6 because it looks so oversized.
Love this video! Thank you 🙏🏿 link for the piling tool?
Thank you! This is the fabric shaver Danielle used bit.ly/3rkZ8bY
Love those cognac Oxfords too. Could you let us know where it's from? Thanks!
Love all the details you gave on this video so helpful!
Hi! Thank you. That is wonderful to hear! The shoes are from Clergerie Paris. If you are interested, you can head over to our Instagram @editorialistmagazine and DM our stylists to find the perfect size for you!
Wow, great video. I am glad I found this UA-cam video and channel. With all of the recycle material, no one is talking about how recycle material could introduce allergen/chemical into the process that may contribute to allergies.
This is amazing! Thank you for sharing
How many plys in the yarn factors in the strength as well.
Your washer definitely has a hand wash/wool setting as well as a delicate setting
A fiber that grows on goats is an interesting way to put it
Loro Piana is just beyond.
Interestesting and informative :-) Wish you would have compared the Everlane Cashmere Crew vs the chunkier knit.
Same! Been debating buying it but the reviews on their website put me off from buying.
@@jj9501 I love my Everlan cashmere crews - very soft, low pill and great quality for price :-) I have 4 now.
@@chrissengemmill6024 thank you! Do you also think the quality has gone down with the newer collection? I have a really soft scarf from everlane that I really love 😀
@@jj9501 I haven't noticed a difference. Everlane really is a go to for staples for me, even from New Zealand. I use the pieces to work in with my "NZ brand" items.
I have the exact everlane sweater shown and have had it for a couple years. It’s nice quality and holding up well but a couple things… it isn’t too soft but very warm. So I find myself wearing only on very cold days where I’d have a base layer on. I wash it on delicate in a lingerie bag with the laundress cashmere shampoo and air dry laying flat. I find that it has gotten softer from this method. I also have a cashmere sweater from free people 3 years ago and it’s awesome and only $100-$150 but I’ve heard they aren’t as good anymore and are very thin. Bummer! I’m looking try nadaam cause why not! I’ve also heard N Peal is nice.
What about Quince and falconeri brand? Thoughts?
Do any of them tell you the fibre diameter size? Any under 15 microns?
For true cashmere sweater de-pilling, you should use a soft brush instead of a cutting tool. I think it is common knowledge...
Also, for high quality cashmere, it is better use a washer whose container set vertical rather than near horizontal angle.
what brand of jean is she wearing ?
I really love those oxford shoes- where can I find them?
Hi! The shoes are from Clergerie Paris. If you are interested, you can head over to our Instagram @editorialistmagazine and DM our stylists to find the perfect size for you!
Also a tip for taking care of ur cashmere sweaters is either washing by hand or by machine dry cleaning is really damaging to the fibers of sweaters overtime cause of the harsh chemicals they use to clean it with :)
Thank you for the lovely tip!
Thank you for your tip.
Gobi makes quality cashmere too
I received a gift, a club monaco cashmere sweater $C298 made in China. It's super soft.
What sweater shaver did you use in this? Would you recommend it?
Hi Hailey! This is the fabric shaver Danielle used bit.ly/3rkZ8bY. We highly recommend this shaver because it reduces pilling in a fraction of the time. We hope this helps!
@@editorialist shoot that link just takes me to the Bloomingdale’s site. I’ve been looking for a shaver like this. Can you repost the correct link or tell me the name of the shaver? Thanks!
Hi Christine, the product is currently sold out on Bloomingdale's site. The Fabric Shaver is from Steamery Pilo. We hope this helps! Please feel free to reach out with any other questions.
please link the tool she is using do de-pill the sweaters
Hi! This is the fabric shaver Danielle used bit.ly/3rkZ8bY. We hope this helps!
Please correction the 3rd country is Afghanistan not Iran. Afghanistan 🇦🇫 provides one of most & top quality of leather, & cashmere of lamb 🐑 goat 🐐 cow 🐄. Thank you
Fiber that grows on goats. Lol.
what's the black turtle neck sweater you are wearing in the beginning? it is actually not easy to get a black turtle neck sweater, with fitting cut, in cotton/laine/cashemere
Hi! The black turtle neck is from L'agence. Here is the link to the sweater bit.ly/3nAkcKn. We hope this is helpful!
I never knew you could wash LP sweaters... guess i should have looked at my tag on my sweaters but i swear they said dry clean or something lol
Music is too loud. Love the sweaters!
the first and third sweaters look the most expensive. the 1k one looks ill fitting. great vid tho
Where are her shoes from?
Hi! The shoes are from Clergerie Paris and Chanel. If you are interested, you can head over to our Instagram bit.ly/2ZYaskh and DM our stylists to find the perfect size for you!
@@editorialist Thanks.
the laundress is not the best option, u need a delicate wash formulated for wool and silk (protein fibers) that dont use enzymes bc those weaken the fibers
Please will you help me for finding international buyers I have 8 computer knitting machine
Loro Piana might be the RR of cashmere but Brunello Cuccinelli is the Bugatti👀
So the “winner” got a 0/10 for size range and somehow rated 10/10 for BOTH softness and scratchiness. M’kay.
My cashmere all become food for the moths😅, I used to buy them in every colour, now I’m thinking would alpaca be a worthy replacement?
have you heard of mothballs? They're very affordable, and they help keep the moths away. ❤
Eye- ran
Will ❤ you help me for finding international buyers I have 10 Chinese computer knitting machine please
You choose the wrong products for comparison. Better to choose basic pull from different brands, and you will know what quality means. BTW, the Loro Piana is worsted.
lower and less background music pleassseee
Why the cracking voice? Seems to be a hype
A 1000,-- bucks for a sweater, are you insane?
Bueno, el que quiera azul celeste...que le cueste.
Ya sabemos que hay niveles...a soñar.
Real cashmere sweater would make you feel extremely warm in winter within 2 minutes. if you don’t get that experience than probably it’s not 100% cashhmere
Her advice was cringe. I work in cashmere and the amount of misinformation in care 😱
800 euro is minimum for a good cashmere sweater
The low end companies have become very good at hiding their lack of quality. So much so, it's hard to tell the difference between a $100 and a $1000 sweater side by side.
With more expensive cashmere, you're paying a lot for the durability of the knit. Ironically enough, due to the cost you're less likely to wear the expensive knit compared to the cheap one.
