@@Jeremiah_29 Of course, but you still need to prove to the man that you are worth the time and investment. Men are no longer giving women access to their financial resources without the expectation of a return.
Now, women have a coffee date to prove to a man of value that he should continue giving them any attention whatsoever.
@@samsongomah1318 What does this have to do with my question regarding attire? Why should anyone have to earn you wanting to present your best self on a date and not look like you are about to go to the grocery store? You should have such esteem that regardless of who is on the other side of the table, they don't have to earn you looking your best. You should want to look your best anyway.
And men need to be more discerning and not put the onus on a woman to prove anything. How are you supposed to be a leader and expect someone to earn you and you haven't identified if this person has the qualities you want and need? Wanting to be "earned" as a man sounds like you are looking for someone to validate you and is an internal problem.
Ok dudes, im pretty casual but you do need to dressup a bit when you go on a first date even if its a blind date.

I think it's best when you're on a first date not to divulge all of your weaknesses, which we all have. A first date is not a confessional. He doesn't need to know right away that you suffer from depression, anxiety and that you're needy. We all suffer from those conditions from time to time, but to highlight them on a first date can frighten someone off -- because you are defining yourself through those conditions. And there's a lot more to you than that. He was so kind, i.e., "Just eat as you would at home," so he was able to see the whole her. I'm sure that it helped that she was very beautiful, as well, which men always respond to. He was also very handsome, but looked like he hit the restaurant after a good jog. Gents, can we please put a minute amount of effort into the presentation? Or am I being a terrible snob here?
