Hi Cal , well done for going 2 Meter , and 70cms , i wish it was used more often here in the South West . I spend a lot of time talking to myself on these bands .

I few the same apprehension about sacrificing a long piece of coax. Lol.

Less haste Callum, don't rush or as you know you might have to do it all again.

I have just got one of these antennas looking to get a triplexer now. Going to mount it just above my beam as hear this antenna is slightly direction though by not much apparently but is due to the 6m radial. Nice vid as always Callum, I am just waiting for the garden to dry up before or attempt getting it up in the air. All the best mate, 73 de M7LTG.

I use a silicone lubricant as it doesn't seem to rot self amalgamation tape. Have the same antenna and aluminum base with the connections on is always a problem with corrosion and things break there a lot.

I’m actually thinking about getting one of those lighting towers for my house… It would double as a generator if we lose power and a telescopic tower for my vert that means I don’t have to upset the XYL by drilling the house and attaching another pole! 😝

Great video as usual. New to ham - KC1QOS - I have a question about lightning grounding. I don’t see a ground plate in the junction box or did I miss it? Is it needed to protect the equipment in the shack?

To moch loss along side coaxial cable. Why you don't use whole cable? Center band in 50mhz? Tnx

    6/10 for the self-amalgamating! Ha!

Greasing the radials threads only allow you to get them off later. Where do you get your self amalgamating tape?

Not one of your best 'scripted' performances..quite a few school boy errors, but you got there in the end. Think you need a smaller pair of grips and use them the right way round 😉

a few days ago i watched a video from Callum where he says he's always using vaseline instead of self amalgamating tape....???? What about it Callum ?
