Question bro. I have a ms2 pnp. Do i still need to wire up the launch control channel to my clutch panel wire?. I did do this however it works and sometimes doesn't.. if you can help me out it would be greatly appreciate it bro. Thank you
Greetings and awesome video! I've been fiddling around with launch control for awhile, but can't seem to get what I'm trying to achieve. A lot of people I know and have seen can shot flames or if anything shoot out the faintest flame on recordings. Been told different rpms and different negative timing play a part in that. Running on an MS2 so no fuel adder %, but have tried 3k, 4k, and even 6k rpm at 10, 0, -5, -10, and -20, degrees timing. All on separate days after a 20 min drive to make sure everything is warmed up. Some insight on what I'm doing wrong would be much appreciated! Also catless with a straight through exhaust design.
Make sure to set launch method to spark only (for most aggressive) or spark and fuel (mild). Change the soft limit zone around from 200-600 in steps of 100 and see what happens
@@TurbineResearch Ah thank you so much for the reply! It really means a lot! Also I forgot to mention I am already running spark only and have the steps set to 100 right now, 500 and 250 didn't produce anything either. 6000rpm limit at -20 degrees and 100rpm steps sounds very close to wanting to make a flame, but not a single one comes out and no sure if I should push the timing down any lower. Have a friend with a similar setup same exhaust and engine car etc, but his ecu has a 15% fuel adder on launch but even with this his ve fuel cel at launch is 80 while mine is 90. I am quite stumped.
Technically it depends on other parameters you setup but it's less hard on the engine when you give it more time to slow down (more rpm I'm the soft zone)
On the side of my Ms2PnP it says "to enable LAUNCH, ground pin 40" ... which is connected to FLEX. I then went into TS and changed the settings to match (enable Launch via FLEX). How or where does my clutch switch signal go? I misplaced the installation instructions that came with my Ms2PnP. Any help would be appreciated! Was / is a plug & play ECU for E30/34 BMW's
@@TurbineResearch thanks! Thats really cool, but i guess you lose the Feature of starting only with Clutch pressed If you dont wire another cable to the Clutch, so you get a "If Clutch+Button" loop
Look for a normally open or normally closed momentary switch to attach to the clutch pedal ( depending on how you mount it) the switch just lets the ecu know the clutch pedal is pressed to trigger the launch control. You can also add a switch to the circuit to manually trigger it from a steering wheel or shifter. Thanks for watching!
Zest Boys it’s just one of the wires coming out of the megasquirt. The launch control is a wire hooked to a button or switch on the clutch that grounds a 5v signal from to the megasquirt. The megasquirt has a “pinout” of all the inputs and outputs. The launch control is just one of those pins.
I'm a Bracket racer push button line lock on back, delay box active, throttle on floor, 4000rpm studder timing 32. Question, what goes in timing retard if you want no retard? flat shift have glide shift point 7000 rpm, no retard same number there? Last question does it make a difference if analog in 3 is 5volt or 12 volt or does it need to be a ground? I subscribed to you channel but you have no way to contact you for help or to employ you which you do some time. Let me know.
This made tuning 100% so much easier.
Great thanks!! Can you do one on traction control, specifically perfect run
Have any videos on wiring a switch to do rolling antilag launches?
I can make a video about that soon
@@TurbineResearch Youre a legend, very very much appreciated! I’ll keep an eye out!

@@treerexaudi are you using individual coils or a distributor?
@@TurbineResearch Individual coils
What about wanting to run flex fuel? How do you go about tuning that so you can run e85 or 91?
Great videos by the way
I have some videos on flex fuel setup if you’re interested
Hi. On soft limit zone, is 400 more "safe" than 100? Or does that even matter? Thanks
Technically it depends on other parameters you setup but it's less hard on the engine when you give it more time to slow down (more rpm I'm the soft zone)
What's the purpose of the imput pin? What connection should it be?
Never mind ;)
The input pin is just the wire from the ECU that is used to trigger the control

Are you able to put the clutch Switch on a separate button and activate your launch control that way?
Yes anywhere you like

How to I set up the clutch switches to activate this?

@@TurbineResearch so would i have to ground the wire thru the switch or ad voltage?
is this applicable in megaquirt 2?
Yes
Could you help me out, what is the Input pin? i’m still confused on what you meant by that? Do i need more external hardware?

Great video! help me so much! Thanks.
I'm glad I could help ! Good luck on your projects
Awesome!
The launch control worked when my laptop was connected but when I took it off it stopped working. I burned it and saved it too.
thanks, great video.
Thank you 😊
Is it work for stock ecu?
Would this work on an automatic ?
Manny Quezada yes. You just need a button to activate the launch control. Probably below the stall rate on the torque converter
