    Your videos helped me a ton with my Kdata powered M20b25 E30. My car was running a high idle and erratic AFR's. Turned out my PWM table for the iac was at like %70 open across the board. I tapered it down to about %30 at target temp and it runs awesome now. Thanks so much!

    I just bought a 2000 3.4L SR5 Toyota 4Runner a year ago, and I didn't yet know that I couldn't touch the ECU. Can I get one of these? I've been developing an on-board hydrogen generator system for cars and trucks since 2015 and have realized that in order to maximize mileage I really need to be able to tune the setup on my own, most especially the timing parameters. It requires more timing retard as I add more timing. I would like to be able to have a reference into the ECU that can reference a PWM signal /and or amperage reading, and based on that adjust timing table parameters. The more hydrogen gas put in to the engine the more ignition timing retard becomes useful as hydrogen gas has no need for advance, it ignites immediately. I would also like to be able to use a wideband O2 gauge reference that can, at will, be flipped off and on so that when it's on a different set of maps is used for a factory tune, and when on the ECU alters the tunes to maintain a different stoichiometric reading (say 15.5 vs 14.7, and under heavy acceleration 13.8). If I got one of your ECU's would this all be possible? I looked on the web page and didn't see anything related to the 5VZ engines. I

    I have tuned for pops and bangs on my me221 but it only works if I give it slight throttle how do I do it for when I fully let of the throttle

    Hi mate, is the m54b30 crank straight drop into an m20b25 block? i know you said to file down that area on the block in your other video, Other than that anything else to modify? using 130mm rods.

      It drops straight in aside from that modified area around the intermediate shaft bearing. I used 135mm rods so I can’t speak about 130mm rods

    im confused. This isnt how you do it though. Im more interested in what no one talks about. 14.7 stoich for gas. 9.8 or something for e85. yet My air table says where its at. where is the TABLE modifications. that what matters.

      This video demonstrates how to switch from gasoline to e85 with a preexisting gas tune. Lambda targets are similar between the two so you keep the afr target table the same.

    I'm spraying in a garage. Epoxy/reduced epoxy is All I use for a sealer. I discovered quickly that wet sanding it works best.

      The wideband and the ecu need to be grounded to the same place if you have an analog signal to the ecu

    This is actually NOT how you tune for e85 with the MS or any ECU. You should actually adjust your fuel model to represent the fuel that you’re using.

      This is a “base” to start your tune from. Switching from gasoline to e85 this will get you close enough to run the car as a base

    If my car was tune on pump 93 but i have the sensor set up already n wired to my ms3pro can i just turn this future on and pump e85 i should be good ? Or do i need to tune with e85 or will the ms3pro correct my fuel table if i decided to pump e85

      You can turn on the feature and it will work just fine with the default settings. However with ms3 you can make a gas tune and an e85 tune and blend them together based on ethanol content

    I just got one of the newly released MS3PNP for ODB2 E36s with an M52/S52. It has a 20-pin expansion wiring connector for adding I/Os and I am trying to hook up an AEM 30-0300 wideband's white and brown wires so I can get autotune function to help tune since my S52 has larger cams and injectors. I was able to change the injector size settings, and have the 2 wide band wires hooked up, I looked all over U tube and searched, but nobody has posted anything yet on I/O assignments. DIYs web site shows some wide band hook up info, but it also states to see the ECUs wiring diagram, but it is not listed. Any suggestion? TIA

    Good stuff. Are you running b35 double valve springs? Instead of doing the combustion chamber modifications, why not to use b35 head instead? Less work and b35 head has other improvements over b34 head. Keep the M30 content coming. It's almost extinct.

      Singe valve springs ( it doesn’t make power past 6k so I don’t rev it hard and haven’t had any issues with valve control ) I’m just using what I have and taking the opportunity to learn along the way.

    I have a B35, would you say that headwork is not necessary for a long term/reliable 400whp e28 application? I'm having a hard time figuring out where to start for my build, aside from having the head inspected and cleaned.

      Mine was making ~400hp for 6 years on a completely stock engine. I wouldn’t do anything to the head for that power level

    I have another question, you’re manipulating the fuel V.E table in this video.. but In order to scale for E85 fuel, shouldn’t you manipulate the **predicted air mass** (mass airflow) rather than the volumetric efficiency. Here’s why: E85 Fuel Characteristics: E85, which is a blend of 85% ethanol and 15% gasoline, requires more fuel volume than pure gasoline to achieve the same air-fuel ratio (AFR) because ethanol contains less energy per unit volume. Specifically, E85 requires a richer mixture, with a stoichiometric AFR of about 9.8:1 compared to gasoline’s 14.7:1. Predicted Air Mass (Mass Airflow): Since the engine control unit (ECU) uses the predicted air mass to calculate the amount of fuel to inject, adjusting the fuel delivery to accommodate E85 is usually done by modifying the fuel injector scaling or adjusting the fuel maps to deliver more fuel for the same amount of air. This ensures that the engine runs at the correct AFR for E85. Volumetric Efficiency: Volumetric efficiency is more related to the engine’s ability to breathe, i.e., how well it can draw air into the cylinders. It isn’t directly affected by the type of fuel being used, although changes in fuel type might slightly affect combustion characteristics and, consequently, VE in some cases. However, this is not the primary factor you adjust when switching to a different fuel type like E85. Wouldn’t you typically need to increase the fuel injector pulse width (or adjust the injector scaling in the ECU) to inject more fuel to compensate for the lower energy content of E85? In summary, to scale for E85, shouldn’t you primarily focus on manipulating the fuel injection parameters (related to the predicted air mass) rather than the volumetric efficiency?       The VE table in MS directly controls the amount of fuel / injector pulse width. If you want more fuel you add more value in the VE table. The flex fuel system does the same thing with a multiplier to the VE table if you setup flex fuel. In this case if you are going from a gasoline tune to ethanol you need roughly %30 more fuel to match ethanols air fuel ratio to make the engine run properly. If you have megasquirt on your vehicle you can test this really easily by draining the tank and filling it with e85 and following this video

    I finally got all the parts (I think) for my E28 M20 turbo build. Can I get away without the stock MAF (I have a MAP sensor) for microsquirt? Please provide more tours of your wiring and engine bay, this is the only quality content on this subject on youtube. Also, you made a mold of the carbon fiber engine bay bumper trim cover, would you consider selling some? Appreciate all the content!

      Thanks for watching! Yes you can use almost any map sensor with the microsquirt and no need to use the stock MAF at all. I have considered making more carbon fiber parts but probably won’t be until next year if I do due to time constraints.
