I got the 2024 mt09sp a month ago and I absolutely love it and I would highly recommend it if you're looking to purchase one. All the little upgrades they did to the 24 model just make it that much more perfect plus I think it looks a lot better than the 23
@hollydillion1315 yeah 2nd gear is nerfed pretty bad, so I shift up into 3rd quick. But yeah an ecu flash fixes that issue and I do plan on doing that as well as getting an exhaust for it. I'm still up in the air as to what exhaust to get
@@jackofalltrades1582got a 21 SP with a Mivv X-M5 exhaust and Vcyclenut tune and it definitely fixes 2nd gear. Will spin the tire off the rip in lower tcs modes if you hit it hard in 2nd!
I own a 23SP, I have ridden a friend's 24 base model, for me, a guy who sold my Aprilia RSVR because it hurt my wrists and back, the 23 is noticeably more comfortable.
Sliders, tank grips, rear stand pegs, and a puig touring windscreen are what's on mine. The windscreen was an immediate purchase. Shift's the wind buffering from chest to helmet and makes it tuckable.
I have a 23 non sp version and it's a perfect daily commuter. If you're thinking of a naked don't look anywhere else but these. Quick shifter is butter wheelies easy carves it up amazing and it's goldwing level comfortable
Welp you talked me into it, just signed papers today on a 2023 MT09 SP. Couldn't find one around me so i am getting it shipped from like 500 miles away. I can't wait!
Only thing I wish you could have done was get it tuned. I've owned my MT09 SP from new since 21 and a ECU flash really unlocks these machines. Best bike I've owned/ridden to date!
I was going to wait for the 2024 MT09SP until you enthusiastic so much about the 2023 so much! The 2023 were just on runout here in Australia, so I bought at 17000 on road, which is 4000 less than the new model. First ride yesterday and I loved it! And given I was just riding a KTM 1290 Superduke 2014, I was still impressed with the MT09 torque on offer in my favourite twisties! Thanks for the recommendation and keep filming Yammie Noob, keep filming Yammie Noob, keep filming Yammie Noob!
Iv had a similar experience, put 28,000ks on a 2015 SD 1290R now have a gen3 mt09sp, SC project full system, DNA filter, tune by Matraville Sydney dyno. Plenty of torque itll do 4th gear wheelies with a fan of the clutch just like the SD. Hard to believe it only has 120hp l guess the chassis/ lite front end helps. What's not to like.. quickshifter, cruise control, comfortable, reliable and goes like a cat shot in the arse!
Finally went and saw one last week since the SP, have been lacking here in Jacksonville, and loved it. Hoping in the next few months once I recover from surgery I will be able to finally get it. Thank you for all you content in advice!
I've had a 22 Mt09 for about a year and a half, and I absolutely love it. I wasn't a fan of the looks at first, but after some bar ends, a tail tidy, a small CNC windscreen, and a puig nose spoiler, I think it looks really good. I've also thrown some carbon parts on there, as well as an Sc project exhaust and 2wheel Dyno works tune. This bike is an absolute blast. It's at the perfect sweet spot for street power. As all riders do, I want more bikes, but I don't think I could ever get rid of the mt09
@@darylnoble5711 it's a small spoiler that goes under the headlight. It provides some downforce at high speeds, but I honestly just got it because it makes the front end look better imo
I would highly recommend the 24’ MT-09sp. I bought mine 2 months ago & love it. Throw the bread box boat anchor exhaust in the trash. If you are a power freak flash the ecu, but the throttle is good on it stock.
My favorite Yamaha with the triple is the xsr900. While I can’t deny the MT09 is good, I prefer everything about the xsr900. Such a good engine though no matter the platform.
Back in 2019 I did one of those Yamaha free demo test ride where they had various bikes including the Tekken but, I wanted to ride the XSR900 that had the '79 Daytona 400 paint scheme. I didn't even realize until then that it was a 3 banger but, was super impressed with the flat torque curve it had. I think I still prefer the look of the XSR.
My god I can’t wait to hear what you say about the Street Triple RS now that you’ve had seat time with this. Can’t wait until the end of the year! I’m between those tow bikes coming from an XSR700.
First bike was the MT03. Bought brand new since I had no experience working on them. Found out really quick motorcycles are fairly simple to work on and got the MT07 used with 2600 miles on it a few weeks ago
It's just an opinion of one person. Everyone is different with different ideas of which motorcycle suits their needs or wants. The motorcycle that puts a smile on their face every time they ride it, is the bike for them.
Man there’s an uncharacteristically large amount of content being pulled out of this one bike. Hope this is part of taking some time off to be with the new baby. Congratulations!
I have the same model MY23 etc It’s just a great bike, goes through bugger all fuel at 4.5l/100km, smooth power, faster than everything on the road, looks good to bikers and non bikers I came from a 1st gen I put 80,000km on. So was an easy choice for me upgrading and after a year and 15,000km I do not regret it. And in comparison to the MY24, yeah I’d rather that, but for an extra $5000 aud I couldn’t justify getting gps (I have a phone), keyless start and extra customisable ride modes I think for the $16,000 these are going for they’re a bargain Or you can do what I did and buy one with a few hundred kms and a few thousand in accessories from somebody who made a poor purchase and needs the money for $14,000 😉
Last giveaway bike was the best bike ever. This bike is the best giveaway ever in the next bike will probably be you know you guessed it the best giveaway bike ever😂😂😂🎉

Unfortunately here in Brazil we have a MT-09 from first generation still. We only have it in the standard model as well. Yamaha here in Brazil just does not care about its client.
