I picked up my 24 MT09 SP at the beginning of the month and I swear I've never ridden a motorcycle so much, I've been riding for almost 20 years and it's the best bike I've ever owned.
Ive purchased the MT09 SP 2024 and it will be delivered in couple of months i guess....and i dont know WHY and HOW....but this Video is an absolute MASTERPIECE! idk why it has just a small amount of likes/view ratio but its AMAZING! thanks for the entertainment! go on like that! greetings from Berlin
I purchased a leftover ‘23 MT-09 SP back in September. I had the choice between it and a regular ‘24 MT-09. I chose the older SP because well, it’s an SP! Lol! I haven’t regretted it since. These are incredible machines!
Just the cruise control is a game changer!! Seating is different than the gen 3, but better! The 2 piece seat is also way nicer!! Tighter turning radius is a plus!! Great bike..

I have had FZR400RR - R6 - Track R6 - Z1000 2004 and atm 2019 Mt09 and i love this machine. Its not for everyone but to me its comfortable , agile , fast , smooth and i use it for commute to work daily. Love its a pretty small bike as well filtering through traffic. Mapped the thing and it went mental ! Its also so fast off the line very interested in the 24 model now !
I think it is the best looking MT09 yet. The lines from the 'head' flow right into the tank and even the seat. I actually like the exhaust on these bikes. Nice and clean, tucked away, futuristic, and no heat at all for you or 2up passenger. Gives the bike an visually balanced look also. It just needs to be blacked out which I did on my MT07.
I started on sport bikes (GSX-R600/1000) back in 2006. Went through DRZ400, StreetTriple 765, and then’23 MT09SP. I thought MT09SP was going to be great because I was focused on reliability but it was so boring to ride. I don’t like riding position because it almost feels like a cruiser. Stopped riding when I owned the MT09 because I lost thrill. Test drove Tuono V4 and bought it. Now I’m in love w riding again. Sometimes you have to go with your heart
I was out on my '24 MT-09 the other day and I was absolutely ripping for a while, having a freaking blast passing people and goin' fast and all that. Then suddenly I felt compelled to look down at the dash and I noticed I was in rain mode. It's a ripper even in rain mode. I put it into sport and the fun increased tenfold. Nuts I tell you. Nuts. Get one.
I love that Chase always has the hardest montage music/beats. As a Florida boy I love the trap/Atlanta flavor makes all the bikes twice as epic. This also goes for when he uses some nice lo fi for less aggressive bikes. It’s the little things lol
Just totaled mine. Put 4000 miles on it in 3 months. Put an M4 exhaust, filter, and flash from 2WDW on it. Unbelievable bike and will be getting another. Best all around bike
Picked up a 24 MT09SP a month ago to replace my 22MT09SP. It’s incredible how much it’s improved! The only aspect where the older has an edge was comfort and just slightly.
I just bought my 2024 MT09 in Cyan and absolutely love it. I also have a MT07 and I’m debating if I should keep it or not. Funny thing is that I never thought I’d consider selling my 07 because it’s also so much fun but it’s going to be hard for me to ride it as much now. I considered the striple 765 as well but for me the MT09 fit me better. I’m 5’7” and the MT09 was more comfortable. The 765 was a bit too aggressive for me at my age. I just think bang for the buck it’s really hard to beat the MT09.
Im buying the new MT-09 as soon as the winter is over in Northeast. But for me, the Yamaha blue is the way. I do like the other color option too but im sick of blacked out look cuz all my Harleys were all blacked out so I need something different but once I saw the Yamaha blue version I was in love and it's the only color I want.
OC: I've owned a MT09 SP and having experienced the upgraded suspension on the SP model I think it be hard to go back to the base model. I do love the MT line-up as I've rode all but the MT10. Honestly though it's a Pass for me just because I ordered the new R9.
talking about the 1st gen MT 09 giving me the real tremble after riding it around town, those bike will wheelie when ever they want even on the 3rd to 4th gear, damn that bike is so terrifying. I was think the throttle on the 1st gen MT09 is like on off switch rather than bike throttle but still a fun bike to ride.
@@ChrisSauer-oe5ve gen 2 is more tame on power delivery yet still had great aggressive feel to it and really fun to ride but since gen 3 i've never been able to ride one cause its not imported directly to my country
This and the Striple 765 were on top of my list. I ultimately went for the 765 RS got a stupid good deal on it here in Cali paid less than 10k (before TTR) for a brand new one. The only thing I’d say I wish I had on my Striple is the cruise control but with the RS you can add it on as an aftermarket accessory.
After decades of motorcycles of every shape and size I’ve recently gone with an XSR900 in Legend Blue. It’s blown me away that bike and motor. They really pull and everything they say about this CP3 is true. It’s a ‘peach’. I prefer the retro looks of my bike that’s all, I am 55 so it speaks to me more.
@@ZSharkPH I like it, it’s a roomy riding position (for me 5’11”). The bike is really light and very agile, but not nervous, at all. Tracks like it’s on rails. I’ve had heavier and much more powerful bikes but the XSR feels a lot more lively and playful, if that makes sense.
Would it really cost that much extra money to give the exhaust in a nice steel finish? It always looks like something they found at a junkyard. Especially since the rest of the bike looks so good.
I really love the MT09 eversince it came out.. torque monster.. easy handling (only the throttle needs some times to get used to) 3 cylinders doesnt hurt the gass so bad than it does with 4 cylinders.. and its still plenty fast..
hello ,. I also have this new one 09 4th gen. , finally, after 4 months of waiting, and I agree with everything,.. this 09 even in street mode it will impress,.. and quite a lot,.. in sport it is much more reactive,.. and changes the character,.. If a person switches modes, and then forgets that they are in sport, it can be dangerous,.. in 1st and 2nd gears,..I drive in street mode and I think it's very good, it drives well and even drinks less, ..but this 09 is not just brutality, far from it,.. the bike is very safe, light, agile, luxury cycling,..good electronics, which we don't even half use,.. anyway,.. it's a good and exciting naked, without a doubt!
OC: Got a chance to demo the '24 SP model at a Yamaha Demo Day this year. It was my favorite bike of the three that I rode. Side note, please get a dealer plate for these first rides. Riding dirty could lead to complications, especially after the recent police warning.
On the 40-80 pull, 2nd gear should be great for it if it wasn’t for the stock ECU being so tame. I have a 2023 XSR900 and it had the same issue pre flash. 2nd gear below like 5000 rpm feels terrible. It pulls harder in 3rd at a lower rpm lol it makes no sense. I imagine it’s for regulations but it’s infinitely better after a remap
2021 owner here and I checked out the 2024 model. I could spot and feel where changes were made and am well aware of what was changed in the electronics package. It is not a night and day difference. It is polishing up what was already perfected. Also when it comes to the exhaust. The reason I’d say give it a chance isn’t because it leaves clean lines at the rear. It’s because when it breaks in it gets pretty rowdy. You may pick up a couple decibels with an aftermarket baffled. It’s not going to be noticeably louder and you’ll struggle to find one that sounds better. Yamaha did a great job tuning the sound you hear from the rider position. It does take a while to break in though. Like 5k+ miles with a good bit of ringing its neck. But eventually you’ll be checking your mirrors for something coming, because you won’t expect those sounds to be your bike.
Such a nice looking bike! I'd love to upgrade to this (or even an r9) from my Mt03, but I'm a 40-year-old dude with 2 boys who just got my 1st bike this summer. I have no business being on one of these. With the MT07 getting a beautiful refresh, and it being the original bike that sparked my interest in naked bikes, I'm probably going to try and get one of those as soon as they're available. I can't wait to see the review on that one!
The MT-07 will get up to 100km:hr roughly the same time (circa 4 seconds) as the 09. IMHO the 07 is the sweet spot for riding in built up areas. My bonafides is 10,000km on a 2023 MT-07 and 3,000km on my new MT-09.
@KonaCommuterMotorcycles nice. I ride mainly around my small city or commute to work down back roads. I'm mostly very happy with the Mt03, but I'm nervous to try the big highway(3 lanes wide, lots of traffic 110-145kph is normal) and passing on the back roads feels much too slow and sometimes dangerous. Like I'm running out of power before I get around the other vehicle. I'm thinking the mt07 will be my comfy spot for bike size. Not a crazy top speed machine, but more than enough to have fun and enough torque to get through any traffic city or highway.
@@JoeButler02 I did 10,000km on the R15, it could do 100km:hr on the highway but I was pushing my luck with zero overtaking ability. I did take it up to 130km:hr but that was full tuck and it took ages. I then bought a MT03 riding it for 10,000km. I did ride it on the highway. Our top speed is 110km:hr and the MT03 managed that and had overtaking power at that speed. Top I took the 03 to was 156km:hr but that took a lot of effort. I don't think I'd like to ride it where people were doing the speeds you are talking about The MT07 was much better for highway. But I don't know if I'd be happy with averaging 150km:hr for any length of time. I only did 6,000km on the 07 because I test rode the new 2024 mt09 and wow, shut up and take my money. I'm an older dude as well (50+) started riding during co=vid I'm pleased my riding journey was 155cc to 300cc to 700cc to 900cc. If I made the mistakes I made on the R15 on the MT09 I'd be a dead man. So in short, my suggestion is to look at the MT07 for your next step.
@KonaCommuterMotorcycles ya the 07 will be what I'm looking at next. I've had the 03 to 172kph full tuck no wind. So sketchy. Those speeds on the highway are what people do regularly. In my car I cruise at 130kph and get passed alot. The posted limit is 100, truck traffic is limited to 105. I can, and do pass on the backroads where most people are doing 100, but it just doesn't feel very confidence inspiring. The acceleration starting from 100ish is lack lustre
Joe you could not be further from the truth. 42 here. I was thinking the same. Bought a 300 cc bike. 6 months later 24 mt-09 and THAT is where i should have started. As long as you are mature enough she es super tame if you want her to be. Put her in rain mode and get comfortable. I was in sport same mode same day. Never had a scare. Its all about throttle control. Go for it man. You only have one life to live and you will have a huge smile on your face every time you open her up. I promise 🙏🏻. Ride safe!
Can someone explain the love of torque that everyone has?? I have a 24' street triple RS, which is more HP heavy, and I absolutely love it.... so smooth at every speed. Maybe because I never stay under 40mph??😅
Went down an alley that became a city canal and didn’t know just very unlucky but very lucky to be walking around next day kinda bad place bad time scenario but I’ll be posting on my instagram same name as my UA-cam!
I've had the 2024 MT09 for a couple months now and I've NEVER noticed you can see through the body from one side to the other as shown at 6:35 - Weird that its just a void...
It was common on bikes during the 80’s and 90’s, it’s really nothing to be concerned about. If you don’t need to put something there don’t. Add lightness.
@Chaseontwowheels , would you take the new MT09 sp over your 2019 MT10? I also have a 2019 MT10 but watching videos about the new MT09 has got me thinkin… 🤔
Great bike just the wind at higher speeds is a lot. Rather be on a cruiser or traditional sports bike. When you are upright like that and going 70+ mph u feel like you’re falling off. Good video
Hey guys, I have a question to any of the taller riders out there. I am about 6 foot 6 to 6 foot 5. If there is anybody out there around my height, I am looking to get this bike slowly falling in love. I wanted to know how the long-term riding is in terms of comfort with the posturing. And how yall fit on the bike. If there's anybody in the comments that could help me out, I would appreciate it.
All reviews of this bike agree on how good it is. I can't disagree but I can tell you the saddle/seat edges pressure against my sciatica nerve. It is very uncomfortable. This calls for a better seat/saddle option.
Un expected wheelie out of a corner on the street ? No thanks. UA-camrs have successfully informed me ... This ain't for me. Unexpected power seems fun, but had there been a little road gravel or sand or potholes he might have landed on his shoulder. Too light and springy ( also worked with a guy who jacked himself on a fz09 , clearly still that way)
who like riding behind trucks? well considering the draft effect you get n a car turns to wicked buffeting on a bike, and the fact you can't see anything past them and have no escape routes... Nobody likes riding behind a truck!
Making a big bike like that look small makes for a big guy so clearly we need to talk about that specifically namely great bikes to ride if your needing something material and are expecting to put miles on that. This is a great start here is the word but for you I would be looking at a Honda Goldwing or the new BMW 1300 you cruisermansgarage for the best wingnut content I know off awesome riders 2nd only to Harley as far as connecting up with the like minded huge fan of this content here stay safe😊😊

Ride safe!
Chase, can you do the gsxr-600? thanks man love the content!
Sure thing!
Can you turn traction control and rear abs off on the MT09 base? Or do you need the sp to do that?
Yamaha Europe has factory accessory windscreen, handguards, etc, etc. Not sure why the US doesn't get them, but source like RWN will ship.
22:50 it was a mistake? Or do you find remember which side is left or right just wonder…
Can someone explain the love of torque that everyone has?? I have a 24' street triple RS, which is more HP heavy, and I absolutely love it.... so smooth at every speed. Maybe because I never stay under 40mph??😅
Can you wear prescription glasses in your ruroc helmet? I just bought the ruby carbon 4.0
I havent ride a motorcycle since 2007, I'm wanting to get a bike. Now, between this one and the CFmoto 800NK, which one you recomend?
Love my 2024 MT09 ! Already wrecked it going 80mph with only 600 miles 😅 but I will be rebuilding it !
What happened?
Went down an alley that became a city canal and didn’t know just very unlucky but very lucky to be walking around next day kinda bad place bad time scenario but I’ll be posting on my instagram same name as my UA-cam!
I've had the 2024 MT09 for a couple months now and I've NEVER noticed you can see through the body from one side to the other as shown at 6:35 - Weird that its just a void...
It was common on bikes during the 80’s and 90’s, it’s really nothing to be concerned about. If you don’t need to put something there don’t. Add lightness.
How does MT compare to the xsr900 in your opinion? Know you have ridden both
I just wanna say yamaha doesn't just make pianos but they also make guitars and speakers and other instruments.
This is my next bike. I’ve said it 🔥
Someone pls tell me if the clutch still rattles in neutral, like on the 2014 and 2015s?
So hard to choose between this or a street triple as my next bike coming from an XSR700.
both beautiful machines, especially the street triple rs.
Yamaha dealership network
@@riverd8205 Yeah I love the yellow one so much.
@Chaseontwowheels , would you take the new MT09 sp over your 2019 MT10? I also have a 2019 MT10 but watching videos about the new MT09 has got me thinkin… 🤔
16:40 If Puig would hurry up & make wind screens for the 24’ 🤦♂️
Great bike just the wind at higher speeds is a lot. Rather be on a cruiser or traditional sports bike. When you are upright like that and going 70+ mph u feel like you’re falling off. Good video
Add a wind screen, problem solved.
I went and rode one on release day. It killed me to leave it there
Yamaha MT09 2024 for the win!
All reviews of this bike agree on how good it is. I can't disagree but I can tell you the saddle/seat edges pressure against my sciatica nerve. It is very uncomfortable. This calls for a better seat/saddle option.
The bike is pretty and I eeally hope that they give you s loaner.
Mt09 good bike as a second bike coming from a duke 390 ?
Yes 👍
15:59 Your 40 to 80 on all stock is good, but a flash on this bike is wicked fast!!
It’s so detuned it’s not funny.
I got the mt10, not that i dont like the mt09, but it is so smalllll!!!! When you are a long person 1.86 cm (6.10) it looks like i am a giant on it.
Had a deposit on a SP until the R9 was announced
Hey Chase, what gloves are you wearing in this one?
Nevermind, it took me .07 seconds to just google it. Looks like these may be discontinued :(
Nice 👍
The hole in the engine section DOES matter! It looks odd and I notice it every time.
What gloves are those?
Are we gonna discuss the griddy at the beginning of the video? No? Ok
5:24 review begins
OC: Z900
Quality.
You probably sold me on the MT09 for my first bike 😭
Holy crap is that gap behind the engine huge.
I don’t know if this is possible or morally correct
I’m in love with my MT10
Wind screens on nakeds look silly :(
Wanted to see a ride not an ad damn
Do video on Kawasaki z h2 2024
Un expected wheelie out of a corner on the street ? No thanks. UA-camrs have successfully informed me ... This ain't for me. Unexpected power seems fun, but had there been a little road gravel or sand or potholes he might have landed on his shoulder. Too light and springy ( also worked with a guy who jacked himself on a fz09 , clearly still that way)
You can turn wheelie mode to a stronger setting.
A fun and aggressive naked position huh 7:05 ? Lol
who like riding behind trucks? well considering the draft effect you get n a car turns to wicked buffeting on a bike, and the fact you can't see anything past them and have no escape routes... Nobody likes riding behind a truck!
I would say KTM 990 duke is in competition with mt09
765 RS?
If only the sp has the electronic ohlins.
Manual is much better!
❤🎉
Ride a Indian ftr !
Jesus 80 in 1st?
Anyone over 40 doesn't care about quick shifters or cruise control... anyone under 40 should be on an R1.
My dad is 56, been riding for over 20 years and very much prefers quickshifters and cruise control. Not needed but preferred.
@worst-hd-player so he's lazy and unskilled?
That hole/passthrough in the middle of the motor is such an eyesore 🤔
Little late for that review.
A windscreen to make it look like an old man bike...
❤😊
W
Making a big bike like that look small makes for a big guy so clearly we need to talk about that specifically namely great bikes to ride if your needing something material and are expecting to put miles on that. This is a great start here is the word but for you I would be looking at a Honda Goldwing or the new BMW 1300 you cruisermansgarage for the best wingnut content I know off awesome riders 2nd only to Harley as far as connecting up with the like minded huge fan of this content here stay safe😊😊
First comment!!!
😳
How’d you do it!?
😂😂😂
