OC I am perfectly happy with my MT07. I am 68 years old and also have touring bike, a cruiser, and a duel sport. The MT07 provides me with the perfect amount of power for country riding here in Kentucky. I have owned sport bikes and a Street Triple with more power then I would practically use very often. The MT07 will get me from zero to 60 fast enough and I can pass in 5th gear easily. If I need to do interstate I will ride the Street Glide. I will keep my 3k in the bank.
@@DB-sd3cw I owned a 2009 Street Triple and it was just so addictive that I wouldn't put it up until I hit triple digits. I just couldn't use all that power on a consistent level. It was just too much for what I wanted. I can get as much joy out of the MT07 as I did with the Triple without going over board. I saved 2 thousand dollars.
@@craigr306 if u get an ECU flash to fuel while off throttle, that will fix that usually, a bike cuts fueling when you're off the throttle, but an ECU flash can keep the engine fueling minimally so when u get back on the throttle, its much smoother than the abrupt fueling when getting back on the throttle with stock ECU settings
I liked when you mentioned "Raw Playfulness." I come from dirtbikes, and have always felt that streetbikes lack the mechanical feel that makes riding a motorcycle so spectacular. I recently got to spend a day on a FZ 07 and was astounded by how much they nailed it. It feels more like a supermoto than a streetbike, which I love.
I've ridden and raced sport bikes for the past decade, also rode a few touring bikes - wanted something after a while that gave me the 'best' of both worlds. I rode a '20 MT-07 and a '21 MT-09, both for about two years, love both but for my needs, and I love the aesthetics of the Mt-07, so that's what remains in my stable. Paired with a Brogue headlight kit, Akra Ti exhaust and a few other goodies, this bike is just a blast to look at, ride around town and still has power for the freeway without issue. Ride safe, all.
OC: Rode older FZ, enjoyed every moment. Got the new SP and I walk into the garage all the time just to spend time with it. I love looking at it as much as I love riding it. Obviously, I already made my choice. SP all day, err'day and twice on Sunday.
I have driven both bikes and bought the MT07. The playfulness is amazing. I have ordered exhaust system and going to order full crash cage and round bar. If I had to upgrade just because of the power I would buy the MT09 SP.
I haven’t had any of the mt range but I’ve had both versions of the xsr, 700 & the 900, the xsr700 was my favourite, the power is about right for uk roads, it’s more fun & playful, you can throw it around a lot more and personally gave me more confidence, wheelies are great fun on the 700 in second and a big clutch up in 3rd where as the 900 is quite violent in second but great in 3rd but then your on the back wheel doing 90, the more low down torque on the 700 is more fun, the 700 though is let down by it’s braking power and suspension when you start really gelling with the bike, you soon find it’s limits which could be much improved with better components, the reason I changed is because I felt I outgrew the power and felt like I needed something more, never had a tripple and loved the sound, amazing engine but just not for me, my partner has a street tripple and I can say I’m definitely a twin guy, I now have a Ducati monster evo 1100 100bhp and nearly the same in torque and weighs about the same as an xsr700, but I am a sucker for these supermotos, just wish they would make a 270degree twin one or even an sp version and slightly more power on the xsr/mt07 🤙🏻
I’ve ridden both, yeah the MT09 is a quicker bike and has better handling but the 07 is more fun to ride. Power and handling isn’t everything. With an exhaust the 07 has the better sound and rumble under acceleration. If I wanted something with power and handling I’d just keep riding my tracked R6. So I’d choose the 07 (with a full Akra) any day. I’ve never had more fun on a bike than when I rode a mt07 (on the street)
Question bro . I’m 6’4 230. Is the Mt-07 enough bike for me for a first bike or should I get the mt-09 because of my size? I’m not looking to be going 100+ unless I’m on a track . Just looking to have fun more than the power and handling , but i also don’t want it to be underpowered for my size
@@sk8orhate55I'm 5'10 and feel almost too tall for the mt07 🤣 but some people taller and bigger manage it. Personally sounds like a bigger bike would fit better for you but probably best to test ride and find out for yourself imo
I have owned over 30 bikes and have significant miles on many others. I bought a new 2022 MT09 and I put several thousand miles on it to date. The MT09 is simply just about a perfect mix of qualities for my style of riding. Powerful everywhere, decent handling, good riding position, electronic gadgets for everything and has a great aftermarket parts following all over the world. Add a few little items and you’ll be ready for any riding situations. This is a jewel of a bike and been around long enough Yamaha has ironed out the warts. I start my two wheels adventures in 1956 and I think the MT09 is my favorite bike in well over 60 years of riding. I will happy to finish my journey of life on bikes with the MT09!
I personaly went from a 2016 MT-07 to an older 2019 MT-09 SP, and I absolutely love it. Its a completely different bike but still feels like home, loved the 07 and its playfulness but the 09 ticks all my boxes and feels more solid.
This is the video that made me buy my mt09 base as my first like last year. And i couldnt be happier. What sold me over the 07 i was originally gonna get was it being taller and all of the safety features. I felt like it was the safer bike even though it had more power. I just rode around in the rain mode and i had 0 issues keeping it under control
I took driving lessons om the 2016 MT-07 about 25 hours of driving over 6 months. It's a super fun bike. After getting my license i bought the 2018 MT-09 and that has been a blast riding this past year!!!
Cool test, but personally I think you should compare mt07 vs mt09. Not with Mt09SP. Or it should be Mt07SP. I know there is only Mt07 but the lot of extra stuff on MT09SP is higher category bike.
Rode cruisers in the past. Bought a 2021 MT03 in the spring and it was a great bike. Spent all summer trying to get an MT07 and finally got one in September at a dealership across the state. Love my 2022 MT07, best bike I've ever owned. Still not sure if I will eventually get an MT09 or not. If I do it will be an SP.
stick with the 07!! Mt 09 to much for the roads I think. I bought a fj09 and I sold it in less then a year too much power for the roads just wants you go get tickets. So im keeping my fz07. I always thought I needed more power but the fz07 is good enough. Also you can use regular gas.
SOLD! Lucked out and found one in the SE area. Thanks Chase for the multitude of reviews that you've done not to mention these great comparison videos. I comfortably pulled the trigger on the MT09 SP as my first bike sight unseen.
As someone looking for a first bike, I have to ask how has it been? A friend of mine suggested the 07 and my reply was that I honestly think the upgrades on the 09SP make it a better choice, even considering the 09s over 100HP.
Hey Chase! I just got my first bike - MT07 this summer, still learning (I haven't got to ride it that much). Now it is winter over here in Norway, I have passed all the mandatory exercises, only ''exam'' left , then I'll get my license. Until then I have to ride with my friends as a trainee witch is a hustle, because time is usually an issue! The power of the MT-07 shocked me! Coming from nothing and feeling the power of the CP2 engine when throttling up to around 60mph at high RPM's and upshifting.... and it still pulls just as much?!.. Is a feeling that can only be special for a new rider I guess! It was mindblowing, awesome and abit scary at the same time! I felt like I was gonna get blown off the bike lol. I wanna test as many bikes in days to come, and yet I don't really want to do that just to enjoy this beast of a motorcycle. The MT07 has plenty of power for me (at this time). I don't feel like I need more torque. The SP MT09 will probably be a replacement for my bike in some years, but I'm not sure if I need it TBH. I'm 35 btw. Sorry for my bad English! Been a fan since 2012'ish!
@@madspriess-srensen2056 har kört mt 07 o kan säga att det är en bra hoj. Speciellt för nybörjare. Tänker uppgradera till mt 09 eller 10 i framtiden :)

All SimpliSafe customers, you are welcome =)
I went from a mt-07 to a mt-10. I've ridden a few mt-09s and they're fun but they don't compare to the mt-10. They're all wheelie machines and probably the most fun bikes I've ever ridden.
I have currently got a 2022 MT07 and the bike I got rid of to get it was a 2021 MT09 (non-SP). I prefer the size and "flickyness" of the 07 platform and the sound of the CP2 engine just suits me better. I'm also the sort of rider that likes to slam open the throttle and really rev out my bike and in Australia with our heavy handed speeding laws/focus the MT09 would just get me in way too much trouble on a regular basis. I don't really need the peak handling ability and the power of the 09 since I don't track it and I don't ride like crazy on the road. The only thing I would love is the cruise that the MT09SP has.
OC. I went from a 2016 FZ-07 to a 2021 MT-09 this year and it was one of the best decisions I've ever made. I loved the FZ, but the MT-09 takes the best parts of that riding experience and adds a shit ton of controllable power that takes it to that next level. I would strongly recommend the MT-07 to any inexperienced rider or someone that is going to be commuting on a bike, because its a ton of fun, easy to ride, and gets good gas mileage. But if you know what you are doing on the back of a bike and don't mind the more limited range, the MT-09 is a smile machine!
@@Daniel-dj7fh well I have experience driving a manual car and cycling downtown between traffic so it was night and day . Just have to respect the bike. It does have a lot of torque but do everything cautiously. I learned on a tuned r6 (2h in a parking lot) and that was more intimidating because of more power but also it forced me to lean forward. As long as you dont yank the throttle, you will be fine.
I am picking up my brand new mt09 tomorrow, I can’t wait! Haven’t had a bike in 4 years and that was an old bandit 600 so it should be a nice upgrade 😅
MT09 is a fantastic platform to start with. I bought a used 2018 MT09, and spent 2k to make it perfect for me. I’m in for 9k total, still less than the SP but I don’t have any of the special electronics either. Maybe it’s worth the extra money over the regular MT09, maybe it’s not, I’ll never know but The regular MT09 is a great bike 🔥🐲
Think your videos are superb, I've ridden several bikes recently, KTM 890r, Street Triple RS & just last week the CB1000R. The MT09sp is by far one of the bikes I've ridden... So much so, that my deposit is in, and I'll be collecting mine in March 👍
OC. I’d take the 09 all day. I want to have the stability of a bigger bike and still play when I want to. Coming from riding mostly on 650 class bikes, I’d want that upgrade in power.
I'm 52 years old 5'5" 155 lbs currently ride an 03 HD Lowrider and a 2014 HD Street glide and plan on adding a 2021 or 2022 MT07. the price is right and I believe that it will keep me in check better than an 09. I toss around the street glide on cone courses and left some board material on the tail of the dragon.
I wont call mt07 to mt09 is an upgrade I owned 5 mt09 then mt10..to me mt09 is better suit my need. Now i want to try mt07 since many riders said it is much more fun than the other 2
Just bought a mt 07 2022 and put a full exhaust akrapovic carbon on it. I love my bike , the sound is really good and it super fun to ride in town. I am 6 feet 220 lbs the wind dont bother me a bit. My bike before was more of a racer and i didnt ride that much. Now with the mt 7 i take it for grocery, to go work, to the gym, just all the time it super fun to ride and with the price of fuel right now i prefer to have a smaller engine. Brand new my mt 07 in canada was 10 000$ , mt 09 SP is 15 000$ . And i prefer the look of the mt 07 , the all black is super good looking
OC MT09 SP all day every day for me. That bike is amazing and who wouldn't want all that fancy tech? I would definitely save up the extra cash to buy the MT09 SP. MT07 is great for new riders but if you want that little extra then SP all the way.
😊 Great comparison video man. One of the things which appeals to me of the MT07 is that raw playfulness. I have a 350 pretty heavily modified supermoto, and then rented the MT07 for a weekend trip and it was reasonably similar, but with a fair bit more power, I actually loved it a lot. But have never bought one because it doesn't seem like that big of a difference than the Supermoto to actually go and buy ... But I am still very tempted
OC You are the reason I went to go get a R3 but they did not have one so I got the MT03 and love it, I am a beginner rider and in three months I have put 9800 miles on it and I am considering was considering the MT09 until I seen the MT10 Sp.. Please tell Yamaha to send you one to ride! I love your videos man and tell bo I am 5'8 so I feel his pain lol
OC: My initial choice was the MT 09. I have ridden the MT 07 and boy I was impressed with it I didn't expect to like it that much. Coming from a Suzuki dr650se that I have been riding since 2012. I really like the riding position of both bikes because it is upright. I am also thinking about getting the Yamaha Ténéré 700. It has the same motor as the MT 07. The ideal thing would be having all 3 😆. But after watching all your videos I believe the MT 09 is the best choice for me. I will be riding in the tri state area (New York, Connecticut and New Jersey) ,going to Philadelphia from time to time. And commuting in Manhattan on a regular basis for work. Will you do a review of the Ténéré 700 too? Thank you for your insights. I really like the videos. You're doing a phenomenal job keep it up.
I’d definitely would say the MT07 would be perfect for a commuting bike in Manhattan! I got a fz10 and T7 I think the size of the T7 will certainly will not be ideal for commuting in high traffic area like tri state! The nimbleness of the 07 be perfect! Now if you can get all 3 that be epic! I’ll just need a 07 myself to have the trio lol But I can tell you I love the CP3 motor my T7 has I got plenty of power and it gets twice much fuel mileage as my FZ10!! 30 mpg highway for 10 and 60 mpg for the T7 surely the MT07 should be similar! Can’t go wrong with any of the MT line!
@@TrigunV4S Congratulations on your trio that's epic! I test rod the MT 10 I like it though I think it is a bit too big for me 😅 and also I like simplicity. Man you have the T7 this is amazing! Till this day I never had an opportunity to see the T7 in person. Only in pictures and videos. Hopefully this day will come soon.😆 I'm biased I know I like it already. I really enjoyed riding the MT's. The MT 07 exceeded my expectations and this was surprising to me. Thank you for sharing your thoughts TrigunFZ10.
i owned cbr1000rr and z900 and currently using mt07...even though mt07 power is nowhere near my past bike but i enjoy riding it more because of how safe i feel when i open the throttle...maybe because im getting older🤣
I am 57 years old by the time I find an SP model I will have allshiemer and not know that I wanted one to begin with I dont have to wait till I am 145 years old I hope
I’ve owned both mt09 2020 and now I own a 2021 mt07 and I prefer the mt07. The mt09 is more jerky when driving slow and strange enough I’m having more fun on the mt07🤔 But I can recommend the trident 660 it is pure fun in the twisties😃 just sold it and got a good deal on a mt07
OC As a very short rider freshly out of MSF, I would have to pick the MT07 because of the height and weight. 28" inseam and 5'1" tall. So I'm limited on what I can handle until I build the confidence with the heavier bikes. Oddly enough, my first bike was a new to me 80's model Yamaha Virago 550. That was 30 years ago. Now I'm riding an Icebear 125cc (Honda Grom clone). Will soon have the MT07
I learned on the MT07, fast enough to have loads of fun and very forgiving. I chose the Gen3 MT09 SP as my first bike... its in a totally different league in every single area and makes the MT07 feel like a toy by comparison. These two bikes aren't really comparable. The difference is massive and far greater than all the figures might suggest, it takes my breath away every time I ride it. Zero regrets... the MT09 SP is fantastic and punches far above its price tag.
I had 09 then sold it for 07, always missed that excitement from the 09. Went back to the 09 and never looked back. 07 is a fun bike but 09 is just a lot more exciting in my opinion.
OC: Hands down I'm choosing the MT09 SP. Riding a 2021 MT07 is great. Been riding for over 11 years and have always been on a sportbike. But since getting the MT07 my back has loved it as I commute everyday. Still the MT07 is truly meant to be a upgrade bike for my gf, when she is ready to upgrade from her MT03. That way she has a MT07 that'll have all the upgrades she wants the day it becomes hers. That day I'm definitely getting the MT09 SP. And yes Beau keep working hard on the editing. You do awesome work Beau.
Currently own a 2015 fz07 and have rode a few fz09 2016 and but I did get to try out a 2020 model up and down my street as I was trying to correct steering after friends bike got knocked over But of them I like the raw nature of the fz07 so far it's really a bike people sleep on it's cheap to own and tons of fun for all styles of riding Been looking heavily at the 2022 Yamaha xsr900 as it gets the same tech package and the cruise control on the base model
A couple months ago I mentioned I bought my first bike this year, being a Benelli 135, and wanted to buy an MT07 next. Some guy wrote a long comment about how I couldn't handle it. So I've got one on hold for Spring 2022 lol
@@carlosjavierrodriguezherre8513 thanks bro! I'm 5'5 and 125lb so I'm kinda limited lol but I've done well on my buddies MT03. And I've got a couple buddies who are interested in buying it. But insurance is only $70 a year in Indiana so I may just bundle both bikes lol.
Oc I'm going to take the slightly different angle and go xsr 900. Same great electronics and motor, but to me, a cooler looking bike. Just a 1300 MI tour on a rented 2017 xsr 900, and it was wonderful. Could have been so much better with cruise control.
@@Daniel-dj7fh the new 22 does. Cruise, I'm, bigger motor. Just rented a 2017 last month. It was awesome. Did 1250 miles in 5 days. Would have been so much nicer with cruise.
I’m currently the owner of a 2020 sportster 883, and a 2018 MT07. After having the MT07 for just 4 months I just ordered the 2022 MT09 (standard). Like chase mentions in the video Just the pure Raw mentality of the MT07 makes it truly a gem of the middle weight naked scene. With that said as far as my personal preferences and desires I just had to get the MT09. Starting with the 2021 model I really haven’t heard a single bad thing about the bike and I’m looking forward to getting my 22 in January.
@@kevincrockett5155 yes I have seen it, I absolutely fell in love with the previous generation as well. I really like the look of the xsr900 and everything it’s for, but as far as my riding style and positioning the MT09 is just one step ahead in my opinion. With that said I have yet to throw a leg over an xsr900 and would absolutely love to have at one.
OC for me, the harder decision is r7 vs mt09. I already have an upright bike and like the sporty position for aggressive riding, but missing out on the torque and power. It’s going to be hard for me to decide.
@@pauly1k Thats understandable. Honestly I'd just spend $1,000 more and get a zx6r. The r7 imo is just overprived. We have had a couple at the dealer I work at and most of us agree its way overpriced for the performance you get.
@@markwalker6692 yeah you’re right. I had a gsxr750 and 2 litre bikes. Personally not a fan of in-line 4s. One of my favorite bikes I’ve owned was the Daytona. I loved the way it handled. I don’t care too much about top end power, but the torque, sound, and lightweight-ness attracts me to the R7. I really like the mt07 also but the suspension isn’t great for the curves.
As the owner of both a 2016 MT07 and having had a MT09SP for a few months, the SP all day. What I would like to know is whether Chase would take the MT09SP ticket or the MT10 ticket?
@@lopezdad30 Yeah, the MT10 is the faster bike👍🏻 However, 0-60mph the MT09 is ever so slightly quicker. With the new MT09, there is not such a wide gap between the two in the handling.
I'm sure the mt09sp will get a lot of mt07s on the used market. So if this is just your weekend warrior there's a strong case in saving close to 5 grand. Dealers charge sticker for these bikes. And then charge you 700-800 for prepping plus taxes. I guess this perspective applies to upgrading too.
Really appreciate Bo? (How do you spell that) input especially him making a visual comparison possible but after all that I would go with the MT 07 and I would never sell it off, why? Basically, am too old for the MT 09's power, torque and electronics, I just need something I can master and depend on but heck wishes ain't turning into horses any time soon. Great video by the way.
I will let you know soon, currently on a '16 FZ-09, wife has a '20 MT-07, and i now have a '22 MT-09SP on order, should be here in a few weeks, and i have a long first trip planned for it.
OC Almost seems a little unfair to rate the MT07 against the MT09 SP. But, all of your MT07 rides have gone a long way toward helping me decide. Especially since we ride the exact same roads.
Recently did a fairly long test drive of the MT-07 and 09. I found the 07 a tiresome bike, after driving the 09 which was a lot better to drive and much more has the feel that I always liked from Yamaha. I drive bikes for more than fifty years and 47 of those on only Yamaha from which 32 only on thousands. Last year I wanted a new bike and got the Triumph Trident 660 because there was nothing that appealed to me from Yamaha. But the 2022 MT-09 is really good except for the front side, but that light cluster can be binned. Still want to test the MT-10 to see what the differences are, but this 09 really got to me. So I have to sell one or two or three of my other bikes, already sold one FZR Exup 1000 from 1994 a couple more to go.
OC. If this video came out earlier, would have definitely gotten the MT-09 SP. Just got my 2021 MT-07 3 months ago. Would probably keep my bike for a few more years considering I paid a premium for it in my country. 19k USD for an MT-07 while MT-09 SP would have costed 25k USD
@chaseontwowheels Where is the video on the CB650R? I ride an MT07, but want a motorcycle that feels more like an actual motorcycle instead of a fun toy. But I live in a super windy area and I feel like the extra weight of the CB650R could help the bike feel a bit more planted. The MT09 is a good contender, but it is not much heavier than the MT07, so I feel like I would still not find it much more stable on windy days. None of the big youtubers make videos on the CB650R, I feel like that is unfair, that bike is super underrated, it looks amazing, the inline four sounds amazing and I hear it is butter smooth.
Been following chase for 4 years and he's the best in the business. Love the reviews and the childish reactions to these piss missiles. Love every bit of it. Except that I'm about to go broke buying all these bikes he convinces me are worth the bankruptcy
Same here from my MT03. Only my choices are MT09 or SV650. At the end I may end up with MT09 cause I think its more of a "forever" bike that will always put a smile on my face. Not looking to upgrade for a LONG time after this so I figure go with the MT09.
an opinion of someone who 's been riding the base MT09 for 6 months now - I feel like I need to downgrade. I live in Europe, and have nice twisties but they're full of cars most of the time and when just moving around in city traffic, the bike has too much power and I almost always feel like the bike is bored. When I want to keep the speeds within legal limits, which I do, I really have to check myself with the throttle and it's just not that much fun. btw, before the MT09 I owned Tracer 7 and never felt the same way about it....
i bought my '19 MT07 brand new when it came out and after 3 years, 2 holidays and 20.000km i still love the torque and playfullnes. But, I've come to the conclusion that I somewhat lack a little bit of power and speed. And after seeing the unveiling of the new '22 MT10SP, I think I'd rather save up a few more bucks and get that one instead of the '22 MT09SP. Which one of those two would you prefer? and why?
Heck yes.. if you are in the market and or just want to feel a bike that has all the modern features and still affordable.. definitely go for it. You won't be disappointed. Also, a lot of after market parts are coming out.. you have 3 or 4 exhaust system to choose from. De Pretto Moto, Evo Tech, TST, and even the Chinesium products are out.. if you want to go budget. IMO as a current 2021 MT-09 owner.. cheers!
The new speed triple is in a totally different league. It makes 60 more horsepower… I own a 21 MT09, and have ridden the new speed triple. I’d love to have a speed triple, but the 29 mpg, and double the price make it impractical for me. It’s a rocket ship though!
Going to look at a 2020 09 this upcoming week, don't feel the SP is necessary between the little extra displacement, color scheme I don't care for, new display and headlight. All negatives for me. Had a '21 mt-07 last year but sold it in about 3 months (1500 miles bought with 0) because one, it gets boring pretty fast tbh and the headlight just is not it, especially on the 09 it looks heavily out of place and compared to the old 09 headlight reduces night time visibility, at least on the MT-07 that's what I noticed with the cyclops light.
OC: I'm picking the MT07, my reason for this is, I already have an MT10 and I'm thinking that the MT07 will be a great bike for my 30 mile commute to work. Chase, is that a good reason to get MT07 🤔
I think you meant mt09 sp 2021, you said 2022 but that's different colors. Waited for over a year and my preorder 2021 never showed so I'm jealous u got one. I may get an mt07 until the 09s show up here I just dont dig the 22 colors
Personally not a fan of too loud exhausts, you don't hear the characteristical sound differences between the different engines then. An 09 straight piped would sound as bad as the 07 or 10 imo
@@Daniel-dj7fh A complete straight pipe system with no muffler would be terrible. But you can really hear the character of the exhaust note with a nice throaty aftermarket system.

usually, a bike cuts fueling when you're off the throttle, but an ECU flash can keep the engine fueling minimally so when u get back on the throttle, its much smoother than the abrupt fueling when getting back on the throttle with stock ECU settings
You could also probably just tune it to get more power.
Is the weight difference noticeable?
@@waddoo1234 it is but in a good way, id say it doesn't feel like a small bike anymore

@@cwaz2353 its great. I definitely do not regret it at all. Ive been daily driving it to work to save on gas too
I took driving lessons om the 2016 MT-07 about 25 hours of driving over 6 months. It's a super fun bike. After getting my license i bought the 2018 MT-09 and that has been a blast riding this past year!!!
Which do you prefer
I picked up the same bike just today as my first im so excited to try it out
Lige fået mit kort også. Endte med en SP 09 efter at have prøvet dem begge 2 - det er 2 fantastisk maskiner.

I went from a mt-07 to a mt-10. I've ridden a few mt-09s and they're fun but they don't compare to the mt-10. They're all wheelie machines and probably the most fun bikes I've ever ridden.
Same, the 10 feels more planted and the power on the open road is insane. I prefer the sound of the 10 also. As you say they’re all great though.
OC: MT-09 SP over the 07 for sure but MT-10 SP over all for that CP4 sound.
@No_Name everyone has different tastes lol otherwise we would all ride the same bikes and drive the same cars 😆
Listening to why you should definitely upgrade from the MT07 to 09 while on my 2002 Yamaha DT175 😭
Got an mt07 right now and if I ever wanted to upgrade ill definitely get an mt09. Not any time soon tho ( im new).
@@modehfy1352 Same boat here
Same, although now looking at the Mt-10sp after riding the MT09 for 4 years
@@modehfy1352 How are your feelings towards the 07, many people say it's good for beginners but I personally highly disagree.
The only woth part of the SP is the suspension set up, not the electronics.... I have a CBR 1100 and i dont need any electronics.
Mt-07 if I commute to work. Just fun going speed limit or in traffic.
-09 SP if you want tickets while doing dank wheelies.
Think your videos are superb, I've ridden several bikes recently, KTM 890r, Street Triple RS & just last week the CB1000R. The MT09sp is by far one of the bikes I've ridden... So much so, that my deposit is in, and I'll be collecting mine in March 👍
Jarrod, so price not being a factor, you would take the 2022 MT09SP over the 2022 Street Triple RS?
OC: Beau slowly drifting away from cruisers into ADV, I think he needs to ride Jake's MT-07 to see if he still would prefer the MT-09 SP
I wont call mt07 to mt09 is an upgrade
I owned 5 mt09 then mt10..to me mt09 is better suit my need.
Now i want to try mt07 since many riders said it is much more fun than the other 2
I've also heard this thst the mt07 is way more fun /enjoyable than the mt09
Dude I still have my 2016 FZ09 and I love it till this day!
Triples are great due to the crank configuration. Smooth power
I have the mt07. I think I am going to keep it for a long time to commute.
Might grab the R9 when it comes out. And you know it will.
I bought an MT07 about a month ago. It's been an awsome bike, and my collection continues to grow!
Can you say what you paid for it after dealer markup?
OC, I would pick the MT 07, for a screw around hoonigan bike, its all about the smiles
I’ve now owned both (currently MT-09). If I wanted less hooligan, I’d run the 07.
But I want to pop a wheelie at 65-70 so… 🤷🏻♂️
OC You are the reason I went to go get a R3 but they did not have one so I got the MT03 and love it, I am a beginner rider and in three months I have put 9800 miles on it and I am considering was considering the MT09 until I seen the MT10 Sp..
I’ll just need a 07 myself to have the trio lol
But I can tell you I love the CP3 motor my T7 has I got plenty of power and it gets twice much fuel mileage as my FZ10!!
The new generation for 2022 mt09 is insane and better

I was going to get the MT09SP buuut they said the R9 is coming out 22. Yeah, I love fairings...SOLD!
Wow... It is less than half of that for a new one here.
OC I haven’t ridden either but they are on the very short list for my next bike next year
OC: I don't think I'd need the 09, rather have the 07 and get a suspensionupgrade. Or the R7, but I don't have the moneysss :((((((
You mean overstated; this engine can not be overstated, surely
Thinking about upgrading from my 390Duke. Considering MT07/09, SV650, or 890 Duke for long term. Probably not gonna go any higher or more expensive.
Same here from my MT03. Only my choices are MT09 or SV650. At the end I may end up with MT09 cause I think its more of a "forever" bike that will always put a smile on my face. Not looking to upgrade for a LONG time after this so I figure go with the MT09.
For me, either MT-07 or a 1000cc sports bike. I own a MT-07 and s1000rr and prefer the MT-07 if I go city riding.
I keep trying to tell this to people!
I raced against an mt10 on my z900 recently. I must admit, the sound coming out of it was pretty awesome...
Yea but the z900 also sounds baller
@@Daniel-dj7fh with a full exhaust the kawi sounds amazing
@@Ali-mf7cg I'm gonna be honest, the thing sounds amazing stock. The Intake sounds holly damn
OC: im in the MT07 crowd due to living in a major city with lots of traffic and very impolite other drivers around me...
OC: Just banging out the MT09 SP videos. I love it. Are you getting rid of the MT10 with a solid salute? @Chaseontwowheels
an opinion of someone who 's been riding the base MT09 for 6 months now - I feel like I need to downgrade.
MT-07, if I want something fast and composed I'll get a full sport bike, or something more suited for commuting.
i bought my '19 MT07 brand new when it came out and after 3 years, 2 holidays and 20.000km i still love the torque and playfullnes. But, I've come to the conclusion that I somewhat lack a little bit of power and speed. And after seeing the unveiling of the new '22 MT10SP, I think I'd rather save up a few more bucks and get that one instead of the '22 MT09SP. Which one of those two would you prefer? and why?
Hell yea!! MT10 all day
Good boy. The MT 10 sp is a fucking monster dude. You will enjoy it.
Heck yes.. if you are in the market and or just want to feel a bike that has all the modern features and still affordable.. definitely go for it. You won't be disappointed. Also, a lot of after market parts are coming out.. you have 3 or 4 exhaust system to choose from. De Pretto Moto, Evo Tech, TST, and even the Chinesium products are out.. if you want to go budget. IMO as a current 2021 MT-09 owner.. cheers!
OC: I have a ‘20 MT-07 and when it’s time to upgrade, I’ll probably either get an XSR 900 or a Speed Triple. Tough choice though lol
The new speed triple is in a totally different league. It makes 60 more horsepower… I own a 21 MT09, and have ridden the new speed triple. I’d love to have a speed triple, but the 29 mpg, and double the price make it impractical for me. It’s a rocket ship though!
Yea like the other guy said, the xsr900 and speedtriple are two complete different league of bikes.
A 2020 07, that's a pretty new bike you got there.
OC: Im keeping My 21 MT07 id like to put a stage 1 on it. Plus Iv just now got it set up for me.
OC: I'm picking the MT07, my reason for this is, I already have an MT10 and I'm thinking that the MT07 will be a great bike for my 30 mile commute to work. Chase, is that a good reason to get MT07 🤔
I will just get the 09, almost the same weight with way more torque
I bet your mt10 is a better commuter, it's got more headroom and doesn't need to work as hard as your 07 to hold the speeds.
OC: I’m thinking 09SP because I’m cross shopping with the Monster 900 and the price and tech seem similar.
But is the reliability also similar 🤔🤔
eu tbm concordo ,. é uma das melhores motos ja feitas pela yamaha ,.. a mt 09 ,..e a 07 tbm é boa ,.. mas a 09 é uma obra de arte moderna ,...!!!!
The diff between price is crazy. here in australia ur payin 16,500 for the 22mt09
Bo the freakin' Ace!!!!!! Shout out to Bo!
Nice review, but as experienced rider shame you wear ruroc as poor kit, get some proper kit and be safe
It’s such a shame they don’t do a MT07SP
Right?! That would be the dream.
Pick up my 2022 09 tommorow!!! Base model tho, no sp😞
Still waiting for the R9 !!!
Prefer no rider aids, throttle, looks and much lower cost of the MT07.
24MT09SP is $20k OTD, for that price I'm grabbing a Ducati.
I think you meant mt09 sp 2021, you said 2022 but that's different colors. Waited for over a year and my preorder 2021 never showed so I'm jealous u got one. I may get an mt07 until the 09s show up here I just dont dig the 22 colors
One motorcycle? MT-07 all day! You can't forget the aggressive exhaust note of a straight piped CP2!
Please somebody get this guy some Xtra-Medium shirts
