The investigator literally just asked "What were you doing yesterday?" and in response he confessed to trespassing and assault completely unprompted. What a genius.
"What were you doing yesterday?" Well GOLF most importantly. And I broke through my ex gf's door, shook her, threw her on the bed, and stole her laptop as collateral. WBU?
Is it so hard to believe the dude only thought that he was going to be charged with assault and theft and that's why he talked? I understand that even if she didn't die, he'd still be looking at some pretty hefty charges such as home invasion and the like. But he probably didn't understand the gravity of the situation and thought it was merely assault and theft, nothing to hide because if the police have caught up with him, then they must know something happened with her. So he thinks he'll tell his side of the story, get charged, bailed, and can go home to bed. Obviously a good rule of thumb is to never talk to the police, but if it's clear they have some idea of what went on, then if you shut down and request a lawyer and refuse to speak to them, then they'll get shitty at you and lock you up for however many days. But if crime isn't something massive and you give them your side of the story, you'll just get processed and get to go home.
The detective literally just asked him how was his day that day and he starts describing in detail how he got into his ex-GF home and physically attacked her. Mind blowing.
This is one of those situations where the person is so mind-numbingly stupid that being mad at him doesn't even feel like a fruitful use of emotions. He's like a tornado personified, there's nothing in there to be reasoned with, he was just going to destroy whatever was in his path without a single thought, not because he was evil, not because he was trying to protect some sort of self image, but just because he existed.
I don't know if I would call this "going bad" for him. He commited a crime, the consequences are something he can't escape from. Especially if he didn't want to kill her. Might as well just take it head on.
@@Doncornuto As stated in the video. If he lawyered up immediately, didn't say anything and collected what information the police had before giving his story, he could have been charged with a lesser crime or be made not guilty if the prosecutors aimed too high. Watch 'there is something about casey' on this channel and you'll see the difference between telling the truth and presenting a string of lies.
One thing that really sets JCS apart from other police interrogation youtube channels, is I feel like they have reverence to the victim and don't overly dramatize a family's worst day of their lives. Especially appreciate not going with psychotic titles like "THE MOST SHOCKING AND GRUESOME KILLER EVER GETS INTEROGATED"
JCS knows and shows the feel of a case masterfully, walking through each intriguing moment of the case and the context of each. Much ahead imitators despite sometimes covering less 'crazier' murders that seem to be the only marketable qualities of other channels
The amount of excitement I feel FINALLY seeing the return of JCS.... Hopefully everything's figured out and you all don't wind up screwed over by UA-cam again. No content compares to these videos.
The way he just so nonchalantly admits to abusing her and invading her space is CRAZY. I wonder if in his mind what he was doing was normal, or at least not that bad.
Probably sees it as she pushed him to that point or something to that effect that in one way or another it's her fault this happened. He reminds me of Richer Breault from TCAP Riverside, check it out.
I don’t think I’ve ever watched an interrogation quite like this, this man outright confessed to everything without even knowing it. I have also never been so annoyed by someone’s use of language in an interrogation the way this man annoyed me. If I ever have to hear the word “like” used as filler again I just may explode
I think he was fully mentally prepared for a jail sentence that he could maybe knock down to a fine his parents would pay, but I don't think it even occurred to him that prison for murder was even a possibility. Hence that reaction.
His entitlement and world view is incomprehensible. First breaking into someone's home and assaulting them, thinking that it's okay. Not realizing that her injuries are life threatening. Not getting a lawyer. Refusing to understand that she has died. The way he speaks. How does someone live to their 20s, and having this little perception of reality is insane
All she did was ask him about his week and he completely confessed to the murder. She didn’t even get to step 2 of her interrogation, he’s just so oblivious to how horrid his actions are.
I think he really thought he was being questioned for an assault and not murder. The fact that he was so casual about talking about putting his hands on her is scary though!
Since he apparently didn’t actually punch her, I think he thought this was going to be a minor assault charge that his rich family would minimize into a misdemeanor
@@faraazali9589 And also as a college athlete, who probably was used to getting into all sorts of trouble and then out of it with a slap in the wrist - because they are too valued by the institution to be expelled or face any real consequences. "My drama paper is due right now". Why would someone facing criminal charges ever willingly say that while being held by the police? This guy literally thinks he's talking to a school figure (as Jim aptly points out) and he thinks he knows all the steps to the dance: deny as much as possible, downplay what you can't deny, "I'm not a bad guy". Entitled rich kid, coddled college athlete who 100% believed he would walk away from assault charges without a scratch even though he trespassed, broke down a bedroom door to gain entry, refused to leave when told to and eventually left the scene leaving a bleeding and unconscious woman on her own bed - by his own telling of the story! This guy literally thought he'd just walk away with it - because he did, every time prior to that. He thought he would get away with literally anything short of murder. Yeardley's death is as much his fault as it is everyone else's who taught him he could do no wrong throughout all of his life. I bet prison's taught him a lot.
I can only imagine this young man’s drama paper was the most insightful and elaborate piece of modern commentary ever written, and it’s a shame mankind will never see its completion.

I wonder what the guy behind the videos actually sounds like 🤔 what with this guy being a paid actor and all, he has his own UA-cam channel! (Not hating at all, just found it interesting when I found out myself) EDIT: the man behind the voice of JCS is 'Kizzume' on UA-cam! He does voice-over work as well as other 'thought piece' type videos or just discusses random topics :) (JCS and Kizzume are 2 separate entities)
And this channel isn’t drowning in the narcissism of some of the other Yt channels covering this case, where they talk about how they feel about the case and plaster their face throughout the video. Please never leave us again!
So glad you're back. That being said, I'm maybe 5 minutes into the actual interrogation and I've already had more "like"(s) than I can tolerate. I'm glad this rich boy prick was never given a talk about how and when to talk or not talk to cops.
@@Person-rv5tl It wasn't his first incident though, according to witness testimony a coach had previously heard cries for help, and opened a door on him strangling Yeardley. Why police were not called after that incident is beyond me. Perhaps they were and she declined to press charges. That info isn't covered in this video, which is the only I've seen on this case.

Sounds like he was a serial, prolific cheater. Even up to the day he killed her, he was talking to multiple women. As far as we the audience are led to believe, she broke up with him and rebounded with another guy.
Apparently, that wasn't the one and only time she cheated on him. JCS clearly stated that their relationship was on and off again and that they cheated on each other numerous times. It came down to who had enough of it first and decided to take the wrong action.
@@ArchangelExile No I get it, it was toxic on both sides. I simply hate that he felt justified to be pissed about the infidelity when he himself wasn't loyal ever.

This is why domestic violence situations are so scary. “He gets violent sometimes but he’s not a murderer…” He didn’t have to plan on murdering her for her to end up dead. And sometimes breaking up and leaving happens too late. 😢

Education doesn't equal intelligence. A person can be intelligent yet not educated. Which is why appeal to authority is known as a logical fallacy. People can have degrees and be less intelligent than those without degrees
I can also tell that he is used to getting away with things, that whiny voice and protesting how he “didn’t do anything” and how he was trying to make things right again (..oh, sure..), right after he has basically described in detail how he broke into an ex’s place and “wrestled” with her. The disconnect is real, y’all. Luckily cops aren’t as easy as teachers, friends and parents, locking him up now will likely save another girl from his “I just wanna talk”-moments.
It’s funny how kids from rich families are so nonchalant when arrested. They’re so used to not having consequences to their actions that they act as though nothing bad can ever happen to them. Thank goodness this case went differently.
In this particular case likely his truly EXTREME entitlement was what did for him. In the course of the minutes prior to realising she was dead (about her fate, even when prompted, he was entirely uncurious at all, ever!), he had already nonchalantly admitted to at least: violent break-in and entering with threats; violent physical assault; stalking; threatening and abusive behaviour; theft and blackmail.
I bet he was the kid that would bully others and then go “what? What’s the big deal? Kid deserved it for being such a wimp.” Probably never got scolded for it and never developed any amount of empathy. Their behavior is dismissed as “boys will be boys” but they grow into dangerous adults
It's not being rich, but definitely a lack of consequences that you hit the nail on the head. You can see poor criminals getting caught and saying they don't care, they know they'll be out in a week because many prosecutors won't press charges.
I'm not used to hearing somebody actually talk like a valley girl in real life, despite having spent a long portion of life in California 😅 this is wild
@@Pugetwitch My thought exactly. In fact, I mentally did a quick count as to how many years ago that song came out (some 30 years!), clearly that speech pathology has only evolved and grown since. Also, relative to his speech patterns, prior to being notified that he was a murderer, the word "like" was virtually every other word out of his mouth (I'll bet he said it no fewer than 50 times) and after he learns the truth of the situation, he doesn't use the word once. At least he gets credit for never once having said "bro", but then this was over 10 years ago and bronunciation wasn't yet endemic among college age men.

I can't believe in the whole video he didn't ask how she was. Clearly he thought she wasn't dead - but at the point the interrogator started asking if he called for rescue you'd have thought he'd have realised it was serious and at least ask "wait, is she okay?" or something.

same. i think its due to the way JCS sets up and builds up the information. i went into this knowing nothing about the case, and being hooked on finishing the video. other channels just recycle widely known trending cases, and pause for some semi-body-psychology analysis that isnt even important. way JCS pauses it makes impact. we are in the interrogation room. the lead detectives menacing looks WERE powerful. way information is delivered is everything.
Matt Orchard is on the same level IMO. And they upload much more frequently. But yes, most other similar channels lack a lot of the stuff that makes JCS so good.
"Why did you break down the door?" "I just wanted to taaawwwk." The entitlement. The total lack of awareness for the terror she must have been feeling. To act as if she was the unreasonable one. The lack of expression of any shame or regret for any of his actions. A piece of work, this guy.
Most of the responsibility should fall on his parents for not doing their job. When you choose to become a parent, you're taking responsibility for what your child does to others. Sadly, in this society, parents are let off the hook almost every time.
@@Tubeytime well his parents didn't murder her. he's a fully grown adult so yeah i don't think his parents should be the ones in jail. there are people raised by abusers, drug addicts, and literal wild animals who behave way better than him. he's a conscious human being who made choices and he should be held solely responsible. the parents are immoral for failing as parents, but they're not guilty of a crime by being shitty parents. should being a shitty parent be against the law? we'd have so many more foster kids, we already have too many to handle

The male officer: “I got your back partner, don't you worry, I watched Matlock in a bar last night. The sound wasn't on, but I caught the gist of it.".
This man's being investigated for killing his ex girlfriend, and his immediate impulse is to tell everyone she was overreacting and being unreasonable. He's describing kicking through her door, cornering her cowering against the wall in her room, and violently shaking her by the shoulders, and he genuinely believes it's her fault because she's being "weirdly defensive." I truly believe he didn't mean to kill her, but this activates my fight or flight response on a primal level. Horrifying.
Everything about him screams, "I'm an absolute moron." From his slow, slurry speech to his complete lack of awareness. I still think he knew what he was doing. It's not like he accidently killed a kitten with his big, dopey hands. He slammed her around.
I refer to these people as PhD criminals. He wasn't horribly condescending like they normally are, but it doesn't change the fact that these college educated people seem to be the easiest to make confess. I use the word make loosely though because they practically do it themselves. The interrogators barely have to do anything.
Still kind of baffles me how this content has such mainstream appeal. Not only is it something I would guess most people would consider boring, but also long-form content usually isn't digested well to my knowledge. Glad JCS exist to break these misconceptions of mine I guess.

This vids are on a different level, thats for certain
same 🤙
JCS knows and shows the feel of a case masterfully, walking through each intriguing moment of the case and the context of each. Much ahead imitators despite sometimes covering less 'crazier' murders that seem to be the only marketable qualities of other channels
I highly recommend Dave's Lemonade as well. Very respectful of victims and a true desire to understand everything that is at stake. @AFPJ
@Ketos Well said.
This guy has the emotional capabilities of a VERY stunted and VERY spoiled 13 year old boy.
I was actually surprised to remember he was roughly 22 when he did this... Even most 13 year olds could think and articulate better.

100% normalized in his world/mind
A life of privilege and no consequences
Dude like i just want to taaaalk
Probably sees it as she pushed him to that point or something to that effect that in one way or another it's her fault this happened.
He reminds me of Richer Breault from TCAP Riverside, check it out.
Classic sense of entitlement
I don’t think I’ve ever watched an interrogation quite like this, this man outright confessed to everything without even knowing it. I have also never been so annoyed by someone’s use of language in an interrogation the way this man annoyed me. If I ever have to hear the word “like” used as filler again I just may explode
I use it all the time. Like, all the time! (Jk)
omg i never knew someone could say "like" so many times

I think he was fully mentally prepared for a jail sentence that he could maybe knock down to a fine his parents would pay, but I don't think it even occurred to him that prison for murder was even a possibility. Hence that reaction.
He just wanted to TOLK to her just TOLK
This is the perfect example of "just because you went to a good school, doesn't mean you're smart".

There were parts of the video where my mouth was literally agape at how dumb he was

His entitlement and world view is incomprehensible. First breaking into someone's home and assaulting them, thinking that it's okay. Not realizing that her injuries are life threatening. Not getting a lawyer. Refusing to understand that she has died. The way he speaks. How does someone live to their 20s, and having this little perception of reality is insane
happens a lot and then such people grow up to be billionaire jerks where anything and everything is excused by money or greed.
The condition is called generational wealth.
All she did was ask him about his week and he completely confessed to the murder. She didn’t even get to step 2 of her interrogation, he’s just so oblivious to how horrid his actions are.
Im not sure he actually thought he killed her
I think he really thought he was being questioned for an assault and not murder. The fact that he was so casual about talking about putting his hands on her is scary though!
Since he apparently didn’t actually punch her, I think he thought this was going to be a minor assault charge that his rich family would minimize into a misdemeanor
Truly a silverspoon fed entitled boy. That was never given consequences consistently in his early years of life.
Twenty minutes in and he was wrapped up by a turkey.
He’s describing him abusing her and acting like her being defensive is so ridiculous, he’s so delusional

The fact he didn’t even know she was dead until the interview/interrogation is so disturbing. Left her like that, went home like nothing happened, and never thought to even bother checking up on her. Or even if he did and she didn’t respond, just went about life.
I can't believe in the whole video he didn't ask how she was. Clearly he thought she wasn't dead - but at the point the interrogator started asking if he called for rescue you'd have thought he'd have realised it was serious and at least ask "wait, is she okay?" or something.
@@hanvyj2 it makes me think that he thought she had probably called the cops herself and it was just going to be a slap on the wrist and a restraining order or something.
I know he had been drinking, but still it tells me that it wasn't the first time he'd pushed her around so his assumption was that she was just "fine" like she'd been everytime before... there's no way this was the first time he laid hands on her afterall.
Not to mention also texting other girls in the early hours of the morning while she lay dying in her room. He deserves a much more severe punishment.
@@mewster1818 this 100%, he knew he hurt her but he didnt know and didnt care how badly. it was obviously normal for him to abuse her like this. glad he didnt walk away from this, even though he shouldve had a longer sentence.

a lot of people tried to imitate these type of videos but jcs does it the best
I agree! No one comes close to me.
accept no substitutions
same. i think its due to the way JCS sets up and builds up the information. i went into this knowing nothing about the case, and being hooked on finishing the video. other channels just recycle widely known trending cases, and pause for some semi-body-psychology analysis that isnt even important. way JCS pauses it makes impact. we are in the interrogation room. the lead detectives menacing looks WERE powerful. way information is delivered is everything.
thats what im saying
Matt Orchard is on the same level IMO. And they upload much more frequently. But yes, most other similar channels lack a lot of the stuff that makes JCS so good.
In the immortal words of Mel Brooks in Dracula Dead and Loving It...
"Gentlemen, we're fortunate"
"Why?"
"He's an imbecile"
"Why did you break down the door?"
"I just wanted to taaawwwk."
The entitlement.

I would like to think that's not true, because I've never met someone like that before.
Oh shit..

He’s just a coward obviously
This video activates your fight or flight response? The worlds fucking doomed

You don't need to do any of this manually. There is free AI software that's able to detect words and spit out how many times, and it doesn't have to watch or listen to the audio for the duration, it can analyze the data and spit it out in about 5 seconds.
