- Replacing a Dometic Model 300 water valve.
This is the Dometic toilet that came in my 2017 Springdale Summerland Mini RD1750 or SM1750 camper. The water valve started to leak at the seam of the valve while we were on vacation in Michigan.
The water valve only had 1 screw in it so I only put 1 screw back in it. - Фільми й анімація
Had the same issue. Watched your video and was able to replace my water valve in 15 minutes. Great video! Thanks!
always amazed when people make (and post!) videos without a work light
There was plenty of light, the camera was not picking it up right.
We really apreciate you time, and how patient you was and showing this video, I hav the same problem with my forest river. Thanks!
Thank you and thanks for watching
Thank you for this video. Bought the 30$ valve. And got it fixed in about 30 minutes. Those screws are a pain in the butt. Thanks so much
Great job on shooting clear and concise video in a tight spot. I have this problem now ...and your description gives me the confidence to do it this weekend!
Not hard to do at all. Thanks for watching
I just had water in the same area on my 2016 travel trailer. Nice video. I'll be ordering the valve. Thanks again.
Had similar problem with our 2012 Springdale. Did some research and watched a number of videos on the repair. Your video is by far the best of them all. Simple, clear, to the point. Very well done . Good job. As a side note let me recommend that Amazon has available an upgraded, higher quality valve made by Beech Lane for $20. Highly rated.
Thanks, I try to show what you need to do the job. Thanks for the info about better one . Thanks for watching.
Thanks for the video! This is the exact same problem we have with our 2015 Georgetown Forrest River. It sounds to me like a product quality deficiency problem because ours was leaking from the seam of the valve as well during our most recent trip. Thanks again, we will be repairing ours as soon as the part arrives.
Your welcome. Its a pertty ez job to do. Thanks for watching
The video was so helpful that as a widowed grandma I was able to make the repairs all by myself!
Thanks for watching
Mine leaked from day one, Campers Inn told (me) to call Dometic. After dealing with alot of stuff on brand new camper falling apart and Campers Inn not standing behind anything and never returning my calls we lost interest in trying to use camper. Buyer beware Campers Inn doesnt stand behind anything after the sale. So glad we did not pay for an extended non existent warrantee. I may try to find the part someday thanks for the video.
That does suck that the place you bought it won't take care of you. Campers in general are not made to last if you do not take care of them. Thanks for watching
Great video. I just bought a motor home in have this exact issue. Not worried anymore! Thanks
This was Perfecto 👊🏻 if only every diy rv video was done this thoroughly
Thank you and thanks for watching
Thank you this helped me a great deal I now understand what to do have ordered the part after your instructions this will be a snap.
Thanks for the vid. I bought the upgrade valve made of different material and never have to worry about this again
Thanks for watching. Be sure to drain all the water out of the valve in the winter.
Just replaced mine in our brand new unit after the first flush. Found a leak whenever I flushed it coming from the back. The plunger ball was passing water through it when it was depressed. Easy and cheap to fix. I also added PTFE tape to the fresh water inlet connection.
That's great. Do you have a water pressure regulator? I would recommend one because you never know what type of pressures campgrounds have. Thanks for watching
Nice video. Fit my problem exactly. Thanks for sharing part number also.
Ty ty ty very thorough. Appreciate great tip on popping off clamp vs cutting hose. I found tip on other video that some clips might need slight shaving to pop valve in.
Thanks for watching
Thank you for info and special thanks for part number.👍
I envy the amount of room you have behind your Dometic.
My hose connection is half inside an interior wall, half outside.
You can pull the toilet but that is my last resort. I do not like braking the seal between the toilet and floor. Thanks for watching
@@TheGAutomotiveAndMore thanks for the help. I ended up pulling the toilet since I couldn't get to the two screws holding the valve in. No worries. Your vid worked. All's well.
Thank you very much!! I was going to buy a new toilet until I watched your video.
Thanks for watching
Thanks for the vid! I think mine is leaking occasionally from where the foot pedal contacts it due to increased pressure from time to time as the water heater cycles on and pressurizes the system a bit more while on city water. I can't exactly see where it's leaking, but I'll probably just go ahead and replace the entire valve here shortly. Definitely don't want to have any significant pools of water forming. Most I've seen so far has just been enough to clean up with a paper towel or two, but I'm fulltiming, so at this point, I get a small amount of leakage every other day or so.
Better safe than sorry. A water leak never gets better and you don't want it to start leaking when you are not there. Thanks for watching
Thank you so much! I fixed the leak in our 28 foot 2006 Kodiak exactly how you explained, although I used a few different tools. I used a 7 mm short ratchet and unscrewed the screw using a light and mirror. Being a 72 year old female with no muscles & n experience, I was able to easily take out the part with a short screw driver on the clamps and put everything back together again with no leaks! If I can do it anyone can.
Great I am glad you were able to do it. Thanks for watching. O and be sure to check out the other camper videos.
Excellent! Thank You!
Where it molded, mine split when it froze. Worked with no problem for years until it got down to single digits here in Texas. Mine has no screws, just clips in.
You're amazing thank you so much
Thanks alot for your video was very helpful 👍
Thanks for watching
Brilliant video. While there are others nearly as good and certainly informative, you showed the clip removal. Almost everyone else bypasses the non total victory portions.
Thank You!
Very helpful
Thank you
Good job ty
I took the toilet out to do mine. I noticed the new valve had added gussets to strengthen the plastic halves. Haven't had an issue since.
My new one looked the same. They might have improved the one you got. Thanks for watching
@@TheGAutomotiveAndMore Look closer, you have an extra gusset on the bottom. You have the new improved one.
@@bertkelly7650 Ok great. I did not notice that.
What kind of screwdriver did you use to remove the screw?
It was a nut driver with a 1/4 in socket on it. Thanks for watching
How to change toilet seat and top on thetford aqua magic iv hand flush - top broke off
I don't know I have a Dometic Toilet. Sorry. Thanks for watching
Hello I have the same problem where did you buy the valve thank you i have the same 300
I bought mine at the Camping World where I purchased my RV but you can get them online. Thanks for watching
How you blow the wáter out CAN you make a video please?
I will but my camper is all put away for the winter.
Can anyone tell me why won't come for my comade in my camper?
Are you releasing the tabs on the valve?
Help! I have this same toilet, but I have no water at all when I push the pedal down, could this be the problem?? Btw, very informative video. Thanks
Do you have the water hooked up and on? If so the valve could be bad. Thanks for watching
@@TheGAutomotiveAndMore Yes, everything else in the RV works but when I push the pedal down there is not even the slightest sound of water running anywhere. I just bought this rv used and didn’t know if there was some hidden valves somewhere or not, I have no manuals. Thanks for the reply.
@@TJ-qz6hr Ok so this is what I would do. First look for a valve. But I bet there is not one. Next I would cut off the water and run a sink to depressurize the lines. Now you need 2 people, disconnect the water line to the toilet valve, put it in a bucket and have the other person turn on the water and see if you have water at that water line . If so the water valve is bad.
@@TheGAutomotiveAndMore I’m on it, thanks.
@@TJ-qz6hr Let me know what you find.
I bought a motorhome 5 months ago and the seller installed this toilet just to sell and was never used. Problem is there is way too much water supply line jammed between it and the wall. So much that even with no water in the line I can't even budge the damn thing. It snapped this part all to hell. I wonder if he would have been that careless if he was keeping it? Doubtful.
He would have done it the same way. Thanks for watching
Only one comment. It is easy to remove the toilet and then do the work. Just two nuts on the toilet bolts.
Yes but then you brake the seal at the floor. It could leak. This way you don't disturbed that seal. Thanks for watching
:28 Saying you went to Michigan might make people think that going there was the problem. Not necessary to tell people where you went or the back story. Just get to the tutorial. 2:30 How can you be "like" I just thought it clipped in? You either SAID that or you THOUGHT that, but you can't be "like" that. 4:07 Don't say, "Let me" do this or "let me" do that. How are we going to stop you from doing something? 4:15 We don't need to know about the tripod. Just get on with the tutorial. After 5 minutes I couldn't watch any more. Too much fussing with the camera. How about a mirror to help you take out the screw?
Waaa, I hope somebody changed your diaper. Thanks for watching
