Thanks for posting these videos, after 6 months of my toilet tilting from a bolt coming loose and someone installing multiple pieces of osb for a subfloor from a previous fix I bit the bullet and tore into mine knowing I'd have to cut the toilet flange with a cutting disk because I had replaced a 25 yr old toilet 2 years ago and installed one of those stainless flange adapters to hold the toilet down, your videos gave me the courage and knowledge to tear out the subfloor, cut the flange, replace flooring, install a pvc flange that fit inside the old iron pipe and reinstall the toilet. No issues now. But this experience still doesn't want me to change my electrician career to be a plumber anytime soon haha. Keep the videos coming and thanks again!
Hi steve I have and old pipe that is 3 1/2 inches I.D. and 4 1/4 O.D. what kind of flange shoul I use. If you can give some insigh ? I would gladly appreciate it .thank you very much in advanced.
Hello Steven Just watching your video from here in Great Britain over here we don't use rags to block up pipe from getting debris down pipe we use expanding rubber stoppers different sizes according to pipe size suggestion when soldering why not use flame retardants matting between pipe and wall love video,s make good watching keep up good work
That was literally a total masterpiece. Not many would have been able to secure that flange in those conditions, without really fixing anything around.
nice job steve...had an issue at work just like this..we changed wax 2 times and it still leaked to apartment below...hairline crack in the main stack...we called in the pro for that he had to replace a 5 foot section..fun times
I have to tell you that I have washed hundreds of these videos and I'm a 57 year old never mess with plumbing before but my ex broke in and tried to fix the toilet and just bring it to where I had sewer flies so bad it let me know I had to do something so I even bought a new toilet replaced it but I couldn't have done it without your video this one specifically so thank you also I like it when your phone keeps ringing and you say it's just too bad I thought I was the only one LOL
That is a cool tub downstairs. That place probably has some cool features but it needs work. I was hoping you would do the lead and oakum treatment here.
I would consider this a good repair but I do not understand why you did not clean the area with a vacuum or similar before proceeding to put the PVC down? Just thoughts, no demeanor. I guess it is also amazing how some people take care of things an live.
Chris Pauly $87.00 per hour. But with that nightmare, an additional $300.00 to replace all his cloths, and a one gallon jug of hand sanitizer and six tetanus shots. That place was no Trump Taj Mahal.😜
Why would you not clean the area before putting in the new flange? 8 minutes in and youre fitting a new flange with all that debris? Why????? Clean up and test fit FFS!
I have put six of those down. They work great but, most of the time the sub floor is rotten unless it is on cement. I wish I could make money on this. Only enough to survive. Renovations suck.
I don't think I will call you to fix things in my house, your performance is not up to far. You put back the toilet w/o thoroughly clean the area and you didn't spend a little time to even the surface what a lousy job you just perform. From 1 to 10 rating!!!!! you are beyond "0" way down there to infinity. I'm sorry 4 u
Even inside of a shit hole.. Damm break out the shop VAC.. .. unfortunately we plumbers must clean up the mess before installing anything.. ,, definitely a rental typical situation here.. but leaving your mark and being a professional is a good idea for myself I believe.. clearly the area is a mess and the floor is a disaster.. but I myself would have parked a Cadillac upon it, regardless,, rental properties with cheap ass slumlords are always non desired jobs but still welcome by myself.. what a train wreck place, but just do it, cannot pick and choose jobs.. thanks again for your work and message.. Appreciate what you are having to do, but wouldn’t it make sense to shop vac that whole area before doing this?

$87.00 per hour.
But with that nightmare, an additional $300.00 to replace all his cloths, and a one gallon jug of hand sanitizer and six tetanus shots. That place was no Trump Taj Mahal.😜

He'll wash and wear that shirt again. Seeing how filthy that bathroom is, if you live like that then standards are pretty low.
Jeez, I feel like I can smell this place..woof..
Like Dudley Moore in the movie Arthur says, "a little paint, a little wall paper, you'd have a real shit hole". Nice job on that repair though.
My complements on a job well done!
How do people live like that? pine sol is cheap
I have put six of those down. They work great but, most of the time the sub floor is rotten unless it is on cement. I wish I could make money on this. Only enough to survive. Renovations suck.
