I have tried some stamps, and not only would the machine do all the ziggity zags but would cut a bunch of little tiny holes ... thank you now I know what to do! Great tutorial!
I have a Cricut but still thought about getting a die cut machine because I hate using scissors. After watching this video, I will never buy one. I am going to stamp out all my stamps and scan them so they are ready to use. Thanks so much!
I actually just tried this last night for the first time. Worked really good. But I didn't realize that I could use a image that didn't have all the lines touching. Thanks for sharing this.
The black splotches are the bleed which keeps you from getting a white offset around the image. You can turn this off before you print if you don't want it there.
So if you now have it in design space you can use it from there and not have to go through scanning it again and using the eraser all around again? Sorry new to Cricut and learning new things
Bonnie F I haven’t used that machine. My friend had one and said the replacement blades were hard to get and expensive so she wasn’t thrilled with it. I’m not sure though if it would work better for this.
doesn't it have the capability to recognize the edges and cut after scanning? Do you have to do all that work to get it to cut or can it be done another way? Like the Brother Scan N Cut?
Andrea Steiner unfortunately it doesn’t work like the scan and cut. So when you are working with an image that isn’t already an svg or from Cricut, there is more work involved.
I’ve been searching everywhere ! And I still haven’t seen anyone mention the idea .... what about DRAW/WRITE+ cut - to draw and cut out your stamps for you to color ?!!?!
I would have just copied that image and drawn around it with a pen thereby closing all the lines so you could use the magic eraser tool. I think that would have been quicker.
I’d like to find out how to draw my image, of a stamp , so I can draw it on watercolor paper then colour in. As this paper is too thick to go through printer. I’m so new to all of this
I am having trouble trying to upload a planner stamp..I keep getting the background..when I get ready to print...it is too large...how do I edit the background just to get the single image?
Hmm, well I am just guessing since I haven’t seen the image but if you select the image is it showing a bunch of white space around it? What I would do is bring in a square shape and make the square just fit over the image of the planner. Then select the square and the planner stamp and hit slice. Then delete everything except for the planner stamp. That will eliminate any white background you may have so you can print it larger. Let me know if that works or not.
what I think is happening is that I am scanning the stamp to my desktop...the scanner white background is on my image..so when I upload it to design space and clean up around it..the image is coming in too large for the print area .. because of the white background...since this is a print and cut..there is nothing for me to slice once I upload it to my mat...what am I doing wrong?
I did it.. this worked...thanks ...I can only enlarge it to 5" ..there seems to be something around it which prohibits the image itself from being enlarged..any suggestions

I just purchased a Cricut and found this video to be very helpful. Thank you so much!
You are so welcome!

After you have erased an outline around the image, you can use the wand selector to delete the larger blank areas because you have isolated them.
I have just used the wand selector and i wish i had known about this sooner🙂
Awesome tutorial! Thank you for taking the time and show us how to do this :) Happy Holidays to you and your family :)

Nicely done! Tfs!
Great tutorial, thanks. You mentioned a follow-up video where you use these cut images in a project. Could you please direct me to this.
So Fun! What kind of ink does your printer use? I don't think I could use mine with Copics -- mine is an inkjet printer.

Great video with great info. Thank you.
TERRIFIC tutorial! Thanks for sharing with this new subscriber. ~BLESSINGS~
I so have to try this Thanks for the info
When you scan the image in outline form where does it save to? I’m trying to get my stamped image to print in white.
I think you should have mentioned the bleed setting during the print step.
It’s kinda time consuming to clear out the edges. Do you think a brother scan and cut machine would work faster and better?
Bonnie F I haven’t used that machine. My friend had one and said the replacement blades were hard to get and expensive so she wasn’t thrilled with it. I’m not sure though if it would work better for this.
Do u have to convert image tomSVG file

What is that black border on the base paper for? Is it necessary for cricut?
yes it lets the machine know where to cut exactly
can you export the cut image for other graphic programs
I’ve been searching everywhere ! And I still haven’t seen anyone mention the idea .... what about DRAW/WRITE+ cut - to draw and cut out your stamps for you to color ?!!?!
Hi I want to do this too. Did you find out how?

Terri L definitely worth trying! Thanks.

Julia Shemmeld buy a Brother scan and cut
I use Michaels 65lb white recollections paper. It goes through my printer whereas other papers are too thick. So you could try that.

No image was stamped :-(
You were able to put the images back after the first print ?
Khadijah Morrow I’m sorry I don’t understand the question.
