Today I am decorating some bisque-fired ceramics I made last year. You can find bisque-fired pieces at a ceramics shop or craft store. You can also find unglazed terra cotta pits inexpensively at any home improvement store. Plaster or resist ornaments and figurines as well as wood and paper mache pieces are perfect for these markers, and you can even use these markers for rock painting! Let's create this fun for the whole family craft!

Oh the donut plate is awesome... reminds me of the simpsons... love it.
Oooh I knew it reminded me of something! "Donuts....."
Doh! (NUTS) 😆 🤣 😂
I love the poppy cup
Thanks 😊
Hi, Lindsay. Thank you for your video. Best wishes to you and Happy the week. ❤
Thank you! You too!
Thank you for this demo vid. I'm signed up for a pottery painting class and this is fueling my excitement. BTW, I love that you have paint on your hands, that is totally me with acrylics in any format.
Have fun!
I think they all turned out adorable. My favorite is the donut plate.
Thanks!
@@thefrugalcrafter My fave is the smiley face 🙂
This makes me want to get some air dry clay and paint the creations with my paint markers I have. So many fun creative things you can make and decorate 😊
Go for it!
They all turned out awesome! But my favorite is the poppy one. 😃
Thank you! 😊
I like the donut plate! So cute!
Thanks
this looks amazing, i definitely want to pick these up ☺☺
Thanks 😊
Thank you for showing me what my Acrylic markers can do.
You are so welcome!
Morning Lindsay 🌞I really like acrylic markers, (no waste, no brushes to clean.) I bought an Artist Loft set of 18 last year and they're fine, but I've been wanting to get some more and this set for $29 is a great deal! Thanks!
Thanks for sharing!!
Isn't there a painting style called Naive? That's what we'll call this pot! I love all the projects and poppies are akways a favorite! ❤
There is but this is more cartoony I think.
OOh, I am excited about this. I have two sets of acrylic markers and have not done much with them yet. I love the poppies.
Wonderful!
How funny! Your least favorite design was my MOST favorite --- the poppies! Great job and very clever, Lindsay! Love 'em. :) 🤩🙃
Thanks 😊
These look fun! Cute pots!
Glad you like them!
I have found a hack with paint pens what you do is pump them three times put the cap back on give them a really good shake and then they are either they are ready to go or they only need a couple more pumps and you’re done
Good to know!
My fave is the smiley face 🙂
Thanks 😊
Very nice doughnut plate 😊 😉
Thank you 😋
Hullo Lindsay, I maybe jumping in to quickly as it is still so early in the video. I seem to remember my Mom painting her biskware (greenware) and then putting a clear gloss glaze over it all so it could be safely washed. Do you think she used a ceramic glaze for her “paints”? I am trying, but I simply don’t remember! I have a thought in my head that it was an acrylic paint with clear glaze over top. Do you remember the Tri-Chem paints? They had a nib that controlled the paint flow from the tube and it was very popular in painting calendars and wall hangings I do remember when she used those on her ceramics! I wish I knew that they worked! It is funny how our memories work, I see her painting the cups but I am not sure what she used? Paints from a tube, but they also sold glazes from a tube back then too! Arrrugh! Well I believe that you created so many lovely items and I believe anyone that uses these items will find joy in them!
Thank you for sharing this experiment with us all!
Greenware has not been fired at all. Bisque has been fired once and then you put the underglaze and clear glaze for the 2nd firing that makes the glass in the glazes melt. There is an underglaze you can put on greenware, it's really a colored slip, but you would still need a 2nd fire if you want it to be glossy. If the items your mom painted were decorative (not for food) it was probably acrylics on bisque and then varnished. If it was food ware it was glazes that had to be fired again.
Cool session Lindsay! How do they compare to Poscas?? Thanks for posting!🎉✨💜🥰
The plastic fine nibs are very similar to the extra fine Poscas (I've only used the ex fine poscas) the the bullet is a chunky Boi 😆
How interesting, never would have thought of decorating pottery with paint pens. I know you were using the pens for this video, and I know zilch about spray inks. But I've heard you mention them, and it made me wonder if spraying a "watercolor" background on the soaked bisque might be pretty!
That's a great idea! I'd still wet the pot and blot it and use acrylic spray Ink or it will transfer if it gets wet.
@@thefrugalcrafter Yeah! The bisque fired stuff is kind of like watercolor paper in a way. Soaking it worked great!
Thanks for the review! Can you refill them? Just pull out the tip and pour paint in the tip? If so, do you use regular acrylic paint or would you need to thin it out? If so, what with?
Sorry for the late reply, I checked and the pens don't come apart sadly.
Those paint pens look awesome. After activating does it have a shelf life? Or will it last awhile..
They will last a while but they last the longest if you use them frequently. If the nibs get dry paint in them you might need to replace the nib so the paint will flow. Hopefully you would use the ink by then. I've had the brand previously and they are working a year later but I'd aim to use them up in a year.
@@thefrugalcrafter Thanks! Good to know. :)
