I’m back again at 74 I can remember a Mr Sydney James who moved to Guernsey in 1948 and was responsible for bringing over many top groups of the day including the Beetles. Well my cousin Brenda who lived about half a mile away from us came to ask my mum and dad if she could take me to see them perform at candy gardens auditorium I was thirteen and she was about 16/17 her friend couldn’t go so I was asked. What a plonker I said no thanks and always regretted it and still do. I think I said my favourite group was the hollies and would have gone if they were on, again what a plonker. I went to see many other groups he brought over.and am quite sure his Daughter did the same bringing over groups in the 1980/90s.including the hollies which I saw. A comment from Dads army comes to mind when I missed that night. Stupid boy Pike ! Regards mike Sol’s
