Being a complex patient with both physical and emotional conditions, I find it necessary during lockdown to work extra hard to keep myself emotionally and psychologically stable. One of the tools that helps me is sobbing at least once a day, having joy or beauty or poignancy well up inside me and overflow. I loved this video SO MUCH! I rocked and smiled to it all the way through until toward the end Carole King appeared. That's when the beauty and gladness burst out of me in sobs. I stuck around for the final bits of footage and was thankful I did. I smiled, chuckled, and, yes, sobbed a second time. Thank you singers, thank you musicians, thank you stage staff and composers and conductors. Thank you Actor's Fund. Thank you HMS. And thank you Miss Carole King, for being there my whole life, through my angsty teens, my tumultuous adulthood, my fragile yet tenacious and raucous middle age.
