The latest software update v1520 broke most peoples setup for their Samsung Frame TV with AppleTV4k. The update meant that when the AppleTV4k was powered down, the TV did not return to Art mode. This video shows the fix.

I would like to add 1 thing.
When I power on the apple tv it starts as expected, but... at the bottom half of the frame tv the samsung app hub is displayed as an overlay over the apps of appletv.
I had to switch off the "smart hub setting" in the samsung frame.
general settings>smart-function>smart hub automatic start set to OFF.
Now the apple tv starts without the sumsung hub overlay 🙂

Turning off CEC won’t work for Sonos sound bar, but I seemed to be able to do the rest and it is still working. I am crossing my fingers that it works over the next few days! Thank you

Spent a few years first in an apartment in the city on Swanston St then bought a little treehouse a block from the beach in Albert Park. Are we neighbours?

Can I change the Art with Apple TV or would I need to use the Samsung remote? How would I go back to the Samsung home screen with the apple remort? TY in advance
i can't get this worked thought, i believe that apple tv had the update and you have to press the power button twice to turn off the apple tv. any thoughts?

I wanted to know if there’s a way to turn off the Samsung Frame TV with the Apple TV remote instead of going to the art mode.
Easy, put in settings Samsung frame the HDMI CEC ON.

@@sibaroochiI’ve not found one and it drives me NUTS because you do still need two remotes. For the frames in my living room, kitchen, etc. it’s fine just going to art mode but for the one in our bedroom I want to be able to go to art mode during the day and off at night.
I wish this worked for the older Frames. I have a 2018 model and it seems to just turn it all the way off, instead of going into art mode.
Very helpful. Does anyone know if the iOS software remote of the phone works once this procedure is followed?
It doesn’t in my experience, it’ll just say that there is no input detected once the Apple TV goes into sleep mode.

Yep if you need eArc for your soundbar this solution is not suitable. Great for others though.
