The latest software update v1520 broke most peoples setup for their Samsung Frame TV with AppleTV4k. The update meant that when the AppleTV4k was powered down, the TV did not return to Art mode. This video shows the fix.

How can I make the Apple TV remote turn up and down the volume of the Samsung TV?
Hello, how are you? I currently use Apple TV 4K and I wanted to buy the Samsung Frame. Has the problem with art mode been solved?
How do i turn off the frame tv completely with the siri remote not the art mode i would like tu completely turn frame tv off
It turns itself off from art mode after awhile.
Turning off CEC won’t work for Sonos sound bar, but I seemed to be able to do the rest and it is still working. I am crossing my fingers that it works over the next few days! Thank you

i can't get this worked thought, i believe that apple tv had the update and you have to press the power button twice to turn off the apple tv. any thoughts?
Can I change the Art with Apple TV or would I need to use the Samsung remote? How would I go back to the Samsung home screen with the apple remort? TY in advance
Thanks this is great! I would like to add 1 thing. When I power on the apple tv it starts as expected, but... at the bottom half of the frame tv the samsung app hub is displayed as an overlay over the apps of appletv. I had to switch off the "smart hub setting" in the samsung frame. general settings>smart-function>smart hub automatic start set to OFF. Now the apple tv starts without the sumsung hub overlay 🙂
I wish this worked for the older Frames. I have a 2018 model and it seems to just turn it all the way off, instead of going into art mode.
Very helpful. Does anyone know if the iOS software remote of the phone works once this procedure is followed?
It doesn’t in my experience, it’ll just say that there is no input detected once the Apple TV goes into sleep mode.

Annoyingly my issues seem to have come back since I introduced the Samsung Soundbar on HDMI ARC. Samsung SB801 designed to be combined with the frame. I am still having the issue of the TV turning off completely.

@@sibaroochiI’ve not found one and it drives me NUTS because you do still need two remotes. For the frames in my living room, kitchen, etc. it’s fine just going to art mode but for the one in our bedroom I want to be able to go to art mode during the day and off at night.

New firmware is availbale 1602.3 but seems that some bugs are remaining! Have you test?

I think I’ve figured it out, I’ve got The Frame working again with my Apple TV! First, go into your Samsung TV settings, Input Device Manager- and TURN OFF Anynet+ (HDMI-CEC). Then, go into your Apple TV 4K, go into Settings>Remotes and Devices>Home Cinema Control-and for the Option that reads ‘Turn On Your TV With Your Remote’- Select ‘ON’ Exit Settings and press and hold the power button of your Apple TV, and you’ll find that brings the Samsung The Frame TV back to Art Mode, and turns off your Apple TV.
@@SamerMatti I confess I haven’t tried it with my receiver yet, as my Frame is outside and connected directly to the appleTV. For sound, I’m merely using a pair of large HomePods paired with the appleTV. Can you be a bit more specific with your setup? What receiver? What input are you using on the frame to connect the HDMI, and what input into the receiver are you connecting the AppleTV to? Also, which remote are you desiring to turn “OFF” everything?

Samsung has really dropped the ball on this one, and they keep blaming Apple and external devices when it's clearly their firmware update that's bricked it. I had the same issue with a 55in 2022 FRAME TV.
It’s such a shame, isn’t it. I forgive the other compromises because it’s such a great idea - but to kill off an easy return to Art mode is the pits. I imagine some art kid came up with the original idea, Samsung ran with if for a bit , and then either some nerd yahoo did a bad job of the latest update; or alternatively, Samsung want to reinforce their own branding. This is why we can’t have nice things 😂. Thanks for stopping by. Maybe someone with bigger reach like Linus Tech Tips can pick up the story and advocate…
