umm look right off the bat the ui interfaces of these "smart tvs" or the "android tvs" will generally not be upto the mark to ui experience you'll be getting with an Apple TV...it'll just be faster and much smoother on top of that if you have other apple products like AirPods or iPhone then having an Apple TV makes sense because of the seemless interaction between the devices....I've used a lot of smart tvs from Samsung and also used an Apple TV and what I saw was while on the longer run the interface for the smart tv was getting slower and slower the Apple TV interface didn't flinch it was just so fast and smooth......I shared the little knowledge I have......hope this helps...

you don't smart tv's have the apple tv app. you only buy the apple tv box if you want to use their os to stream
