I'd love to put together my own turbo kid but lack the knowledge to do so. I'm going to buy a welder soon to start leanring how to weld pipes which will be a start.
I have exactly no idea how to install a turbo kit, so I’m kinda watching these videos for fun and maybe to learn stuff. Might slap a turbo on my car, just because practice, I guess
Does the turbo have to be taken apart and put on piece by piece or can I just have the turbo assembled and put the whole turbo on at once after I put on the manifold?
That will work if the engine is out of the car, or if you're using a smaller turbo (7670) but due to firewall clearance on the Evo X, it needs to be disassembled. The compressor covers on the EFR turbos are large, and won't fit between the valve cover and the firewall.
Looking to possibly turbo my 16 ford flex sel.. I didn't get thre EcoBoost but wanted to get a single turbo going on it... do you have a kit or able to throw something together?
Hello. I got question if you can give me some advice I want to put a turbo charge on a dodge ram sxt 3.7 v6 this what I found so far. A DODGE UNIVERSAL 7PSI UPGRADE T3/T4 TURBO TURBOCHARGER KIT. But all I need now is the manifold
Aspire Python Not at all. The Mitsubishi Evo X this kit is for is already turbocharged. Your ram obviously isn't, so you would need a turbo manifold and exhaust, a secondary fuel pump, adjustment to the timing, different plugs, oil feed and return lines, coolant feed and return lines, intercooler and all custom piping, etc... Not to mention you absolutely have to get it tuned. Your truck needs to know it has a turbo, so the ECU can actually make use of the power plant you've given it. It will technically run without a tune... But to avoid it blowing up, you should tune it right away.
Help, I had an engine swap, the same 4b11. Now my boost gauge in my cockpit pillar doesn’t move, I’m afraid I’m gonna blow the car up. I may have connected a hose into a different outlet. It’s a clusterfuck. I tried scheduling a tow to my local Mitsu but they’re no help since the car is moded.
I just don't see those wastegate dump tubes holding up, I'd figure a 600+ hp car shaking like hell with stiff or solid motor mounts during pulls will rattle those loose and cause the connection at the v band to the wastegate to crack. Something I would like to see is a support bracket that mounts to the down pipe to support the ends of the wastegate dump from excess vibration and future problems that I can assure will happen to owners
hey guys i live in new zealand and i was wandering because im wanting to know if you can turb a turd lol a Toyota Windom just a question let me know cheers guys
Jonathan Enamorado Well the short answer is yes. You can turbo and truck, car, tractor, your lawn mower... Whatever. That said, that's an impossible question to answer, since you likely have so many different options on how to go about it. I'd recommend going to some forums for your car. Chances are, someone somewhere has turbocharged an M35, and posted information on the internet about it. Just Google and read, read, read.
where did you learn to do all this? did you go to school for mechanic and get experience from there? im asking because i want to learn about modding and fixing cars and doing all sorts of things to them.
Ajosay Beats nah I'm all self taught. Best way to learn is to just start tearing stuff apart and figuring out how it works, and why. Once you get a good grip on that, it's all easy. UA-cam is a great resource for learning!
Lots, for a nice turbo kit it will probably be around 6-8k, and labor will probably be around 5,000. Not to mention you'll need supporting parts like brakes, suspension, fuel system and driveline components.

It doesn't have to be forged, you can turbo any care. You just can't turn up the boost very far or make much power on most stock engines. The engine in picture can handle 500+ WHP reliably as long is torque is kept under 400 ft lbs.

it looks really easy with the engine in front of you like that. in reality you would have to go under neath the car and do alll of this, correct?

Driven Fab ok. Seems like it would be a night mare to install. Are you guys able to make the manifold with 44mm Tial wastegates instead of the 38mm?
You don't need 44mm waste gates on this setup, because of the twin scroll design, 44mm waste gates are way over kill.
Driven Fab ok
Do you have to remove the engine completely or can you do it whiles it's in the car?
sorry its already late but you can do this while the engine is still in the engine bay
