I just saw small bok choy yesterday. I was wanting to try it and your Chanel popped up with ya cooking it. Yummy cooking tonight 😋 for dinner. Thanks Buck.
you are awesome!!! i love the way you cook, it's the way i like to cook too, i'm in!!!!!!!!! cant wait to eat this baby bok choy!!!!!! looks so healthy and enjoyable, just what im looking for... i heard a 50 yr from you... wish i was there... 63 thank you, i quit smoking a ways back and am looking for healthy tasty fun food, this is it!!!!!!! thank you so much for your expertise! i have seen a few of your vids but the one i saw a few min ago was the biscuit and gravy, mom(87) loves this and does not cook as much any more, so i try to fill the gap... thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!! i am very happy with your recipes
The fact you put out the steam basket easily by hands when I use an ustensil to get the choi’s out every time what a trained cook haha! Thanks for this version of the recipe nice! :)
I just subscribed to this channel because (a) I love how you explained the recipe and (b) love your personality....the blah blah blah reminded me of me. Thanks!
Had the Week From H*LL, then I watched Sir Buck create this masterpiece...luckily I had some baby bok choy I need to use up, thank you SO Much, feel better already.
This looks so delicious, I just started to grow my own bok choy... and I am so super excited to see how they are growing into beautiful baby bok choys. :-) Cant wait to make this recipe.
I just want to comment on this baby bahk choi ( bahk means white and choi is vegetable) the green one is called luhk choi ( it describe the color luhk means green choi is vegetable). Just sharing my knowledge of Chinese veggies.
thanks for checking the video out...bok choy is one of my favorites...we just moved up to a little town in British Columbia for the winter and I was excited and surprised to see they had bok choy at the local grocery!
I used a scaled down version of your ingredients with 3 x pak choy tonight and it was so good that even my kids who don’t usually like veg ate it. Thank you so much for your quick, tasty recipe.
Your cooking has changed its upgraded now ... wow and you both look very well I'm well impressed with you both and thanks for healing others with food nutrition is paramount period now I will share with you what I have found and hope it helps you and your family , friends and strangers
Hell yeah, this is how you got to do it. Very nice recipe. Very well done, thank you Buck! PS: Allow me to mention one tiny little tweak here. I'd cut the Bok Choy in half before washing. It will help you to wash out that nasty dirt between the leafes even better.
Glad I found your video1 I used to cook the bok choy in the sauce and it came out brown. This way the veg still looks vibrant, but picks up all the flavor.
There are two common varieties of bok choy. The one you are using has snow white stems. The other one is called Shanghai bok choy and the stems have a very light green color. They are both available from baby to large. The Shanghai variety is our preference as it is a bit sweeter.
I found the funny thing about this video is this guy is a white guy who like asian people food but his accent sounds like black people. Very colourful.
I love making baby bok choy on the stove. They're super easy and quick to cook. I always pull apart the leaves, throw them in a pot with some peanut and sesame oil (more peanut), add some soy sauce, garlic, a bit of salt (or MSG if you want that authentic Chinese restaurant taste), black pepper, and some onion powder. Make sure everything is good and covered in the oil, and saute until well softened. You need a lot as it really shrinks down.
I just saw these at my asian store and didn't get them because i wasnt sure what in the heck to do with them. Thank you for this!! I love regular bok choy. And ideas on asian eggplant?? I love your voice by the way!! Lol
He sounds like a black guy to me, too, and my stepfather is black (been around for 15 years and I know all his 16 kids). But, hell, I voted for Obama cause of his midwestern slang, dialect and soothing voice. Anyway, just listened to about 5 minutes and learned A HELL OF A LOT! Peppers, garlic (a lot) and ginger sauteed in olive oil and it took me 71 years to figure that out,
Thanks for sharing. Just made it. Amazing. But next time I may drop a dash of soy sauce. Used sambal olek instead of whole chilli since I normally carry red chillies in fridge
I worked at a grocery store and a woman came up to the counter/belt and when I went to put code into the till, I had to ask her what vegatable was this??? I felt so ridiculous, but I hadn't ever ate this or even had someone come through my till before with Bok Choy. The woman was cool and I learned something new.
Wow I am so lucky to have a large Asian store, and a International Food store near me. I can get a big bag of baby Bok Choy for $1.50. The fresh veggie prices are awesome. I never buy vegetables at white people stores. Andy my meats I buy at Mexican stores. You know they got big families and got to feed everyone. They have pork roast for 99 cents a pound, and Chicken 59 cents a pound. I usually stock up in my large freezer when I see a sale.
yeah...it's the same here in Seattle, and most other places we've lived with International markets--the prices just can't be beat, and the difference is sometimes quite ridiculous...especially when it comes to produce, and spices
cool thanks. I get organic veggies delivered every week and I don't get to choose what I get. This week I got a bunch of baby bok choy in the box. I will try this.
This is what I had in a Asian restaurant in NYC.It was baby boo Choy steam with mushrooms. All I tasted was salt and garlic and it was so good. Never going back to big Bok Choy
Thank you, i cook the same way you do believe it or not but, i have two younger children 15 months and the five years old do not like spices the 15 months love it and the oldest 24 by a different mother but.............
