    The trouble with your maths in the restaurant example is that you got to £12,000 largely by calculating the restaurant's takings for the whole year. (Average of 15 return customers x 10 bookings per year x 3 average per table x 20 average spend = the annual sum)
    So you would then, to make the maths fair, have to subtract their SMM expenses of £1k per month x 12 months = £12,000.
    It goes without saying that you have 11 more months to generate more new bookings for that ongoing 1k per month service fee - but you also then have to deduct the ad spend, which the client is liable to fund, and deduct that ad spend x 12 for the total figure to deduct from their takings that you generated.
    I completely understand and agree with the premise of the video - to understand your worth as the service provider and to understand the value/profit that you are potentially generating for the client, and ultimately to price your worth accordingly. I just feel the maths could have been more substantial & transparent.

    Definitely didn't close her, definitely need more practice and I saw this video right on time for 2 reasons.

    2) I didn't quite convey why my price point was super value for the results I'll be getting vs what she told me her current monthly rev/average customer spend etc.
    BUT - I had the confidence to do it, feel it went pretty well (lol) AND I got off my hands and took action! Long will that continue.

    • @JordanPlatten
      @JordanPlatten  3 роки тому

      You get to know the niche and results from previous clients in the same space, and you estimate from there. Of course, it's not just how much you spend but also at what ROAS, so you'll start with a baseline in mind and scale from there.

  • @livewithshade

    Hey Jordan,
    If I get people questioning my prices for $1500 is there a gap I can work with? I have had a few clients say that 1500 is a bit pricey and didn't know if I could cut my service charge down or maybe you do something as a backup plan! Thanks for all your help, your course is great.

    • @mahinahmed3949
      @mahinahmed3949 4 роки тому +1

      8 months later, I’m interested in if you solved your problem. If not then I’d recommend to tell your client that if they sign up today (or within a week etc) you’ll give them a lower rate for the month or 2 months (up to you) and you can also offer them a money back guarantee for the first 3 months of using your services.

  • @thomaskrutulis2289

    How about profit Jordan? The thing is, we see agency vids and everyone talks about the total billing. 1500 a month of 10k a month equals 120k a year agency etc. However, how much of that is ad spend and how much goes to actual cost? If doing work yourself it’ll be one number but if subbing out, it’ll be another. So my question is, are you building profit in as a set figure on top of whatever you estimate a fair monthly fee to be or is it random? As you said here, all clients are different. Just because a student lands client charging 10k a month doesn’t mean they’re actually profiting 10k a month in spendable income. In fact, I’m sure sometimes ppl earn more from 2k clients than the 10k just because the tasks are simpler and more automated and less personal time is required etc. Thoughts on this?? Thx!!

      Belal Kayumi no. No on this model. What he’s describing here is a monthly retainer, and the client pays ad spend on top. Another way to do it is to charge a % of ad spend. So they have 10k month budget for ads and you take 20% (2k) as your fee and the rest you spend for them. That’s more typical with larger clients. Small companies won’t have enough of an ad budget for this to make sense for you as a model. Hope that helps

      bainsk8 of course, I completely agree with you! I was being vague for the sake of the video & for some quick maths. Regardless of the final figure, the client is still very much in profit!

      That was in no way an attack at you Jordan. I just wanted to point it out to your viewers, so there is no confusion.
      Agreed there is a lot of room to extract a healthy fee from your client. I'm already subscribed and will be following you with an even closer eye, you are producing some good content. I'm tempted to raise the funds to do your course. Keep up the great work and content Jordan. ;)

    Hi Jordan
    Lets say I charge a business € 1000,00/month. How much should I spend on ads and how much should I keep to myself as income?
    By the way, amazing video, keep up the good work!
    Thanks in advance mate!

    Hey Jordan, does this £1000/£1500 a month retainer fee inclusive of the ad spend, it is that an additional cost? Thanks mate!

    • @JordanPlatten
      @JordanPlatten  5 років тому +1

      Hi Peter! the monthly retainer is exclusive of ad spend. Ad spend is treated separately, they get charged directly from Facebook!

      Jordan Platten Thanks for this. It's been something I have been wondering for a long time now. I am wanting to get started at this asap. My only hold up has been local businesses (I live near Belfast, Northern Ireland) don't want to pay for a service they think they can do on their own. Is this a common problem you have/had when getting started? Or is just my sales pitch?
      Got a second job a few weeks ago just to save up for this course. I'm really hoping it gets me the answers I need to get this going!
      Thanks for these videos!
      Peter

      Peter yeah I would say it’s to do with your pitch, because 99% of business owners think they know how to do it but don’t have a clue, and it’s your job to show them that in the meeting. Looking forward to having you in team mate!

    Where I live anything less than $1,500 a month would be working for less than minimum wage. I don't think any reputable businesses would be willing to pay you under minimum wage.

    I've been thinking that maybe you can charge at least, what a full time-minum wage job pays you. Don't know about other places, but in Texas, USA, it's $300 dlls a week, so $1,200 dlls a month. As a professional that brings value and costumers to one of your clients, I think that should be your minimum. Don't you think? You're working the whole week creating content, using your knowledge and creativity to solve the problem of how to bring people to their facilities.

      should be more than that if delivers value, could get to 2000$ easy and up from there till 5k for starters "if you're bringing the value"

    Dentists are key. I’ve been in the dental field for 25 years as a dental hygienist and sales so I know them inside and out. Now I’m starting my own SMM business and will heavily target them. One thing to ask them about is technology that they have. Do they have 3D dental equipment and if not are they thinking about getting it? I guarantee they have thought about it but are afraid to pull the trigger bc of the cost. That’s where SMM comes in. They NEED SMM to pay for this equipment that they know they need. Not only will the equipment pay for itself but when they add on SMM they will start killing it. And adding 3D to their practice adds so many more angles that you can add to their SMM.

    What if u ask like $1200 a month , but get them only like $900? Are they still supposed to pay the whole $1200? If someone knows the answer, I'd like to hear it.
