Hearing that there's no check engine light after hearing the check engine light was burned out in the intro was great. The gurgling almost-stall..... 🤣🤣🤣🤣! I'm enjoying this series more than I probably should be.
the key FOB just stopped transponding in mine (battery is good), but I couldn't start it for a while while the alarm was going off. I guess I locked and unlocked it in the way it liked to get it started. Asked a car stereo shop about bypassing the factory lock actuators and going with aftermarket.
Nick I’m digging your style…a lot here I relate to… 1) you didn’t start your “DIY” like most other automotive YT’rs “so I put the P38 on my two post lift in my garage” 🙄 2) you definitely edit out colorful language we all use when learning our simple oil change ain’t so straightforward…I felt it bro 🤬 and most relatable 3) “my wife won’t drive it” 🤣
@@NickRoshon you fit right in with the majority of us. Not that I wouldn’t like a 2 post lift or $20k toolset, however I’d likely drop a car off the lift at some point and would use exact 9 of the 5,000 piece tool kit. AND nothing replaces the shame of bringing my car to a professional tech after making the issue worse by my first attempt…what a rush!
Those lights coming on when you go over bumps reeks of a bad ground. The wabco ABS units have a notorious shuttle valve solder issue that required bypass. I don't know if its the unit that gives the "three amigos" in the discoveries but its worth looking into the fix for those.
I guess this series was filmed in advance? Just confused because at the start it says it was in the shop for 2 months (and Nick mentions it a couple times .. doesn’t sound like a joke) but the last 2 videos were posted in the last 2-3 weeks?
Anyone who's rebuilt a clunker knows that you don't spend a PENNY on Cosmetics until it's mechanically sorted, unless you're a super shady amorale flipper.
Wouldn't buy anything these guys had anything to do with.......they put holds on your account and never release it, making interest on 20 plus bids just on the car I was interested in......thats over 5,000 dollars they are making interest on.....the same people probably would have bid on something else
I spent $2,800 on an 88k mile 2000 model P71 Crown Victoria a year ago. I've spent about $85 for a fuel pump & did the job myself. That is how you buy cool old cars.
Gotta admit, I like this new addition to Cars & Bids more than I thought I would. Kennan's gotta step up his game.
Totally feel like car bros. Nick is recreating Doug’s Range Rover saga that got me to be a fan 7? years back
Nah Kennans great, everyone is

most relatable wrenching vid, gotta love an easy "30 minute job"
Man, I've owned a few BMWs, and I've never seen or heard of the CEL bulb burning out. Well done, P38. Well done, indeed!
I liked this format of video a lot. I would love more buy clunker-repair-resell video series.
7:24 Wild LC500 spotting!
Saw that!!!
In red too! Very nice.
I knew I would find a comment about it!
Who edited this the google earth shots and plant growth 😂😂😂
Saw that drain plug issue a mile away. Pro tip: Always use an impact on oil drain plugs, kids.
3:26 there is a GR Yaris! Crazy to see that
This is a great series. And i can relate to siezed items - in this case the O2 sensors - making a 15 minutes repair into a several hour ordeal.
Bold to drive in the middle lanes of the highway when you are worried whether or not it may give out on you. 😅
True story - the P38 broke down about 7 hours after this video went live. Stay tuned for the next episode!
Putting tape over the check engine light also does wonders.
Fun to watch. That said, I will be praying for the financial health and well being of the unfortunate sould who ends up buying this vehicle!
I don’t think even Hoovie has had a burnt out check engine light before! That’s a new level of hooptie lol!😂
A+ editing. The cut to the warning lights 😂
The 'Nooo' at 11:56 is so relatable.
no check engine light means NO check engine light 😂I'm gonna take the light bulb off my car tonight✌
That was an impressively accurate version of Kennan's sign off.
This is the perfect 'I will' mentality. Not sure if you 'can', but you sure as hell 'will' get it done
I want this car now!
Great content
This was a great comedic episode 😅. Rover ownership sounds “fun”

Anyone who watches this series and bids on this when it goes up for auction has way too much disposable income or is insane 🙂
Insane for sure lol
lol u sure the previous owner didn’t kill the check engine light bulb
Imagine a car where the check engine light was on so long it burnt out
I dont suppose any of you guys have a wiring diagram for Gems P38?
I like these videos and that he is going to sell it on C&Bs is cool.

Yes - for better or worse my mechanical abilities are limited by both competence and equipment, so when I say DIY I mean it :)

It ended up being the brake accumulator - with that replaced, this no longer happens.
This will be really nice when done, like a $10-12k car.
650? For an O2 sensor replacement? Isnt it the same sensor as on Discoverys
150 for each O2 sensor and 350 for spending 2hrs getting the old ones out and rethreading one of the bungs.
Nick, please order a better scan tool. The Creader VII+ is like 100 bucks and does so much more than the one you have. You’ll thank me later

Why not time-sert the oil pan?

Hahahaha that "BORREGO" message made me chuckle 🤣hope it all goes well with the fixes
Ya
Knowing that Nick did some of the work himself decreases the value of that heap by $1,000 - $9,000
Spending more money to fix it than its worth.
