@@markusvillarreal8271 - I had a claim with MaxCare for my Ford F-150 Raptor back in 03/2017. MaxCare sent a claim adjuster and they denied the warranty based on "oversized" tires. The Raptor comes stock from the factory with 35" tires (315/70-R17) and I had 35" 12.5-R17's at the time. Both are 35" tires... and the warranty states you can have tires 2" bigger or smaller. MaxCare wanted me to jump through all kinds of hoops like having a Ford dealership call them and state the Raptor comes with 35" tires and there were a couple of other stupid claims they asked but I have long since forgotten them. So I paid for the repair myself. I ended up filing an arbitration claim with AAA (American Arbitration Association). I sent my demand for arbitration to MaxCare's registered agent via certified mail and within a week a lady from Consumers Program Administrators (company behind MaxCare) called apologizing for the error and wanted to quickly resolve my arbitration claim. It doesn't even have to be a crazy unreliable car. With mechanic prices the way they are these days, even ONE repair can cover the warranty. I've got one of those MaxCare stories! I bought my wife a 2016 Nissan Rogue SV AWD from CarMax in 2018. I bought the MaxCare warranty on it for $2200. Four years into the 5 year/125,000 MaxCare warranty, the ole reliable Nissan CVT blew out. $300 out of pocket to replace a $6500 CVT transmission for an AWD Nissan. A couple months later, I get an AirBag warning light. Take it to the Nissan dealership, and again, $300 for a $4000 driver's seat back (yeah, that's freaking ridiculous). Now, the car is out of warranty and I'm scared to death it's going to die on me BUT I think I did well considering since I paid $2200 for the warranty and used over $10K in repairs on it. I bought a 2016 Jagaur XJ from Carmax, specifically becasue of Doug and the Carmax warranty. I bough the 5 years / 125,000 mile coverage, so essentially 85,000 mile warranty based on the car's original mileage. I paid $4800 for the Carmax warranty, and so far Carmax-covered repairs have totaled $15,500 in less than two years. When Carmax techs can't fix the problem, they send it to the local Jaguar dealer and cover all costs. Still an amazing deal, and there is NO way I'd own an 8-year old Jag without it. Thanks Doug!

I bought my e90 M3 from Carmax in 2015 just because of the Rover video! Drove it for 5 years under warranty without worrying about rod bearings and got around 10k in repairs at BMW dealer. Still have it and love it. I would have never bought a car like this if I didn't watch that video! Thanks Doug!
Same here. E92 from CarMax and wouldn’t have bought it without the confidence given from Doug. Racked up $30k in repairs on a transmission , throttle actuators, thermostat and more.
As someone who works for Carmax, it's cool hearing the story. Our managers still tell us that to today and use it to encourage customers to buy it. I just sold a Macan GTS a few weeks ago, guy bought it, and already has the front oil seepage that happens on them, happening to his. That's what MaxCare is for! You and that Range Rover really did transform the way the company works as a whole.
The Doug DeMuro Range Rover inspired me to look for similar warranties. In 2016 I bought a certified pre-owned Jeep Grand Cherokee with the 5.7 V8. I paid $26k and $3,250 for a "as long as you own the vehicle" unlimited mileage warranty from Mopar. So far, they've paid out well over $30k for repairs (two years ago they put a new engine in). It is currently in the shop with transmission issues, we'll see if they buy me out of the warranty or fix it again! it's been a good ride though!

Stumbled across Doug on UA-cam in early 2013....laughed my butt off, you can see I don't have much of it left..... Love the Range Rover/CarMax story! I also brought it to the dealer just before expiration to make sure things were good. Of course they were, it's a Lexus. Haha.

I remember these videos! My son in college drives my old 2009 L322 Range Rover with the great Jaguar 4.2L Supercharged V8 and that car has been reliable. It gets various CELs and TPMS errors but they get reset and go away for months. It now has almost 180K and the engine and transmission mission are still solid. It’s got a nice not too loud but still audible supercharger pulley whine!
I purchased a toyota extended bumper to bumper on a 2021 4runner. Everyone laughed at me when i got it. I got it on month 35, giving me another 8 years 80k miles warranty. Two months into the extended, my roof started leaking water from rain. First, they replaced the rubber. That didn't fix it. They then replaced the catch tray, rubber sealing( again). That didn't fix it. Toyota just wound up replacing everything. Including the glass. Warranty cost me $2100. Had I listened to the its a toyota l, it'll never break club it would have cost close 3k out of pocket. For one repair
I love MaxCare. I bought a 08 F150 back in 2015 with 100k miles on it and paid $3100 in extended warranty. Over the course of 5 years I only had two major failures if you could say. The trans was never serviced and was having a mild issue. The shop fought maxcare for 3 days and was allowed to do a full rebuild. Costed $3400 and I paid $200 out of pocket. Then two months before the warranty expired the intake manifold sprung a leak. That was a $1k job and I paid $200 for that one. So $4400 and I paid $400. Saving a net of almost $1k in the end, but with $4k worth of repairs. Totally worth it from them. Don’t know how it is today but great back then.
I confess, I moved to the US from the UK and one reason I bought from Carmax because I’d heard of it from Doug’s stories on Jalopnik. I didn’t buy a Range Rover though, I bought a Lexus. 😆
I work at Carmax and use you on occasion to sell Maxcare. I gotta say the warrenty only went down to 5 years (3 for high mileage) and it still covers almost everything.
Best warranty that I've had was on a "fixed" VW Jetta TDI. Got it with about 40k miles, warranty up to 120k miles. Paid around $12k for it. Got close to $3500 in warranty repairs (New DPF and some other work.)

We know Doug Demuro. We need more Dog Demuro. Everyone enjoys a good Noodle appearance.
I bought my E92 M3 from Csrmax with the Maxcare Warranty because of your videos. It paid out $30k in warranty claims. The warranty cost $3k.
I bought an Mercedes E55 AMG at CarMax and got the 5 year warranty about the same time Doug got the Range Rover. I racked up over $15k in warranty repairs on it
THIS is Doug.
THIS IS WHAT I COME FOR! Wonderful to see Doug on here and to hear about this car that what was I originally watched him for.
I remember the carmax warranty range rover ❤
I've got a high mile '05 LR3 that hardly ever needs any attention, very reliable.
This is why I watch Doug. Started with the Range
I remember these videos… I been on UA-cam too long. That rover looks so good.
Doug is a living legend in the automotive UA-cam community! One of the greatest car reviewers in modern history…
Doug genuinely sparked my interest in cars.
Ed was introduced to the world by Doug writing about 28:50 in 2013 and I've been hooked on both of them ever since.
I love this video and I'm not through the intro yet!
I have been following Doug since the Jalopnik days and it’s been great seeing him come so far!
Yeah, I started reading his stuff about the time he bought his Ferrari 360.
Still remember and reference Doug's Range Rover video series to this day. So great to hear him revisit this.
Doug and Chris Harris’s stories on Jalopnik are what got me into cars!
Now we just need to get Chris on here 👀
Doug is an absolute legend in car YT.
I remember watching the old Doug videos when they were new, and how much has changed.
I remember watching this guy back in the day and so many people talked down on him. Congratulations bro
The legend continues! This helped bring Doug into the scene as much as Hoovie having his Mercedes stolen did.
2 GOATS in one place!!!! THHIIIIIIISSSS, is awesome.
As someone who worked for CarMax for a couple years, we constantly referred to your story to help us sell MaxCare!!
Why does Doug’s head look weird in the video?
He is not wearing two t shirts.
Took me 5 minutes and 35 seconds to figure this out!
Thanks Doug...that was a great series, very glad it helped you launch your career.
Love the Grand Wagoneer @2:48.
It's absurd how much Grand Wagoneers have increased in value. They're cool and I want one but they're not new luxury SUV price cool.
This has been years in the making. Absolutely bonkers.
I usually only try to spot other Defenders when I'm on ACK, now I'll be keeping an eye out for the carmax Rover.
Can't believe how awesome this turned out!
I am so excited for all the Doug videos. You just know he has so many to tell
Doug the type of guy to finally come on VinWiki.
Still one of the best yt series ever. I remember waiting for every update and all the shit that broke!
ED... TELL DOUG TO TELL FILLIPO TO GET A QVALE MANGUSTA!!!
I absolutely love my L322 Range Rover.
OMG FINALLY DOUG IS ON VINWIKI
This was the beginning of non stop car content for me
Oh look, a thumbnail where Doug doesn't have his arms in the air like he's marshalling a fucking jet aircraft
Doug on Vinwiki was waaaaay overdue 😂
I remember watching that series and waiting for the next video to come out. Legendary.
This is like a new era for Doug, doing podcasts (besides cars and bids) and now VinWiki! Awesome.
I confess, I moved to the US from the UK and one reason I bought from Carmax because I’d heard of it from Doug’s stories on Jalopnik. I didn’t buy a Range Rover though, I bought a Lexus. 😆
And that's how I came across Doug - the articles he wrote on Jalopnik!
I love that the this was "the most reliable" Range Rover he could have bought...
The whole saga was truly epic.
A classic car story that will be retold for decades to come! Thanks Doug!
I bought a '12 Mustang GT 6spd ragtop from carmax in july of '23. Before july of this year, I had over 10 grand worth of repairs done on that vehicle.
Doug, I've been following you since the CarMax Range Rover. From Romania! 😂
Great story! Thank you Doug! Keep the great stories coming guys! RIP Rabbit! (miss you bubba)
Doug is the funniest person he knows
I work at Carmax and use you on occasion to sell Maxcare. I gotta say the warrenty only went down to 5 years (3 for high mileage) and it still covers almost everything.
Doug is the reason I bought my LR4 from Carmax with the warranty, never needed it but it was comforting.
Best warranty that I've had was on a "fixed" VW Jetta TDI. Got it with about 40k miles, warranty up to 120k miles. Paid around $12k for it. Got close to $3500 in warranty repairs (New DPF and some other work.)
BUMPER TO BUMPER TO BUMPER TO BUMPER
You're insanely skilled, keep creating this type of content!
So happy to see Doug on this channel.
Doug’s CarMax Range Rover is what introduced me to his channel
Damn, I didn't realize the Range Rover saga was that old. I feel much much older now
For all of his _Quirks and Features_ Doug is *the* guy who has influenced the influencers.
Thats is IA, real Doug will have 2 t-shirts
Doug is a cool guy. Thhiiiiiisssss
