It's even more impressive he's 6'1". The half and marathon are better suited to smaller lighter frames and the wind affects taller runners yet he ran a WR despite these factors.
@paxundpeace9970 Don't need a long stride for these longer distances, it's not fast enough to allow him to open his strode fully anyways but he will have more weight to carry. You never see tall half or full marathoners they are always 5'6" 119lb guys. Even 20g heavier shoe weight itself adds up every mile over a marathon. I myself am 6'4" my BMI is 18.8 and I'm still 160lb
@@FatLarry-h4z This longer stride is assuming Yomif is running the same turnover speed as the people who are the shorter runners 5 foot 6 inch/167.5 cm and 120 pounds/55 kilograms or under as a runner. Some of the best runners for the Marathon/Half Marathon have been under 5 foot 6 inches but most in histroy werer/are this height and 120--130 pounds/55--59 kilograms being no more then 130 pounds/59 kilograms. However this is the Half Marathon not the longer road races of Marathon or 50k and in a 10 mile to Half Marathon you can be a a slightly bigger runner provided you are skinny and have similar height to weight as shorter elite runners as the toll of running for elite runners is only around 1 hour at most so they are not suffering for a hair over 2 hours.
@@caseysmith544He might a lose a bit of turnover but i did not look like it to me. He made more then with his stride length. In Kenya in Ethopia it is very common for distance runner be about 5'9" he still has similar build then those other runners. He is just a bit taller
Saving a “few seconds” in the plus…. How was he 12 seconds in the plus one K in makes no sense He didn’t run a 3:00 last kilometre I feel either their projected finishes are BS or their tracking time is BS
Lol road running already almost over Chicago, and berlin marathon and valencia half is already over Then valecia full marathon is the last quick one for the year
Awesome race by Kejelcha! Amazing range and front running.

He is tall but i guess it gives him a slight edge giving him a longer stride length and while be barely giving up speed or step frequency.

Insane to see that Kelvin Kiptum ran with the lead group already in 2020 for the Valencia halfmarathon. rest in peace
Barega actually fell on his right knee and still ran 58
take a shot every time the word "Astonishing" is used
Thank’s for the analysis, some one knows Kechelja height ?

1.1k realistically, so 3:10 or a 2:52 1km give or take is pretty accurate
World record for 20 km 21.1 km and surely would have smashed the 1 hour track record
Again a win for ADIDAS with the Adidas Adizero Adios Pro Evo1
