Saw him at a bar in Blacksburg (TOTS) and genuinely seemed like a good dude - took pictures and even took time to ask about my running background as well as my family. I knew after Olympic Trials running 3:30, then during Olympic semifinals running 3:31 and 3:32 seemingly jogging last 20 meters, Cole and Yared could not be counted out of the 1500 meter medal hunt. Of course Jakob and Josh are great runners too. Everyone knew with Kerr’s kick that Jakob would have to take it out fast and not relent. I was screaming as Cole kicked on inside. With Cole, Yared and Hobbs Kessler the Americans are a force to be reckoned with.

    Everyone complaining about the Africans, no one wants to talk about the BYU problem. Casey Cligner won NXN as a senior EIGHT YEARS AGO, and Troutner upset Cole hocker as a senior at 7 years ago. These are 26 and 25 year old men, that were in the same high school classes as pros that last competed in college cross 3+ years ago. College xc is broken and BYU is just as part of the problem as anyone else

    18-20 year olds running against semi pro 25-28 year olds is ridiculous. The NCAA should just go to age groups and put these imported “freshman” in a separate age group race (that nobody will care about or watch).

    • @722.fxbien2
      @722.fxbien2 21 день тому

      nobody would care about? these guys are the reason NCAA XC is ALIVE. these guys bring the LIFE to racing, people like you make my blood boil. The competition is getting fierce, either keep up or get left behind. These championship races are opening the gateway to the next wave of pro distance runners. We should be excited!!!!! Not to mention, it's not just old east africans, there are old americans too. But age does NOT matter, young guns can take them down and we see it happen all the time. Like yasseen abdalla said, you either suck or you don't. Stop crying, get fit, no one is coming to save you.

  • @anthonygargano1861
    @anthonygargano1861 24 дні тому

    I think the NCAA cross country will be broken if they keep letting 28 year-old accomplished runners run. I understand that people don’t have to start college right after they graduate high school some people have missions. But I honestly think that 22 or 23 year-old freshman should be the maximum and that you should not be able to compete in the NCAA and an age greater than 26 or 27 Covid rules excepted. Solomon will be still racing at age 31? Ridiculous
