Great series of videos. I'm having to replace my 7.3 in my short bus work truck. I already have new plans thanks to things you did. Thanks, Dan Schroeder

Glad I found your series helps make the process less daunting. Well shot and narrated really drove home the importance of proper torquing.

Hello again, I am on my 3rd time thru the videos and getting very serious about spending alot of money on my 2002 truck. Question: did you ever put the truck on the Dyno to see your net horsepower after the build? Why did you pick the 205/80 injectors over the 238/100 or 250/100 Injectors? Your new turbo can handle the increase. Thanks for your time and attention. Dave :o)

Hey Dave! No I never put the truck on a dyno to get actual numbers. I picked the 205/80 injectors because they were recommended by Dusty at 1023 diesel..... I would recommend 205/30 injectors for someone doing this same build. Or if you wanted a little bigger 238/30. The 80 over nozzles smoke pretty bad until you build boost and will cause a higher EGT. Yes the turbo can run a bigger injector, but the horse power increase will require head studs, and better head gaskets, and more tuning to keep the EGT down while towing. I'm happy with my build, and it does everything I need the truck to do. And if I were to do it all over again I would do the same. Build with 205/30's 😁

Instead of a rubber mallet smacking your injectors use a 5/8 wrench on the side that doesn’t have the bolt on the injector hold down bolt and use it as a lever and it seats them correctly. That’s the way that they are supposed to be seated in the head

That is a great tip! Thank you. I will try that next time I need to install one. I'm really not a fan of smacking stuff with a hammer

As of Jan 1 2023 1023 has discontinued making tunes on 7.3s due to epa😭

I had not noticed that. But honestly. I could never get tunes from 1023. I begged him for over a year to send me the tunes I paid for and never got them Dusty even quit replying to my messages.

Code reader for 2002 Ford F350 “best”

I replied to that email as well... You want to get any code reader that can do manufacturer specific codes. Any code reader will display codes, but if you want freeze frame or diagnostic abilities you will spend money! I'd get something like an Autel and pay for the subscription.
