    I have been having some brake issues on my 95 F 350, the calipers are sticking, dragging. So I am gonna have to do some of this, and was unsure on the bearings, and orientation of all those collars and spacers and lock rings. Thank you SO much for showing all of this!!!

    • @mygarage.

      There isn't much about the orientation. 1 locking washer will line up with the groove in the spindle, and the others will lock with a pin against each other.

    This is the most beautiful, most professional cleanest swap I have ever ever seen. I had a wreck back in February this year 2024 with my 99 7.3 long story short it’s my work truck so I damage from bumper to bumper slip in a ditch hit and ran over a fence bob wire 2 electricity posts, a 2 cedar trees about 7 inch diameter one medium size 10” in diameter that’s what stopped my 7.3 me driving 45 mph in small 1” snow fall a non traffic farmer market rd in north east Texas anyways engine stills turned and ran for a min when they delivered my truck to my house I had lots of weight on my rig tools toolboxes welding lead welder tanks etc . I was kind of intimidated by me swapping this engine to another truck but watching this video actually motivated me to get to work on it because it’s late may and I just keep procrastinating it some say to sell parts but I don’t want to that truck never leaked oil no blow by I took good care of her with 299k miles and still ran like a champ I never burned rubber or anything no show off and it was a beautiful truck giving me almost 20 mpg with weight running around 55-65 mpg ok I know I said long story short my ? From me to you do you think that it would be worth swapping the engine to a 2008f250 gas engine since I wrecked it would the engine be ok or do you recommend retirement for the engine?

    Great channel! I love your methodical approach. Thanks for taking the time to make these videos. The background music on your previous videos was pretty cool. I called it powerstroke porn. Lol 2 years ago, i did a dana 60 swap into my 97 f250hd from a 97 f350 . The axle guy i bought the axle from completely rebuilt it for me. After some research, i heard about XRF ball joints. They have a million mile warranty. They seemed to be a step above the regular auto parts stuff. Also highly rated on the forums. They seem to work great. Time will tell. The axle guy must have had low profile zircs cause mine dont have clearance issues. Hopefully, both of us won't have to worry about new ball joints for a while. Your backing plate looked pretty good for 30 years old. They dont last that long in the northeast. • @mygarage.

      There really isn't a need for it. Nothing needs to be protected from that portion of the exhaust, and the heat wrap causes the pipe to break down because it can't dissipate heat.

      The donor truck was a 1997 F250.

    Amazing video. My 97 7.3 still runs amazing at 260k but I know one day it will come out and I now know where to go for my engine teardown and rebuild. Any reason why you did not remove the oil gallery plugs and replaced the orings? Thanks from Revelstoke BC Canada.

      Which oil galley plugs are you talking about? The ones in the head?

    I just bought a copy of Ford's IDS (Intergrated Diagnostic Software) all I need now is a Win 11 Laptop and cables :o)

    Hey man, I really appreciate the quality content:) I may have missed this, but how many miles were on this motor and did you do a compression check before doing all this work and not digging into the pistons and crank?

    • @mygarage.
      @mygarage. 8 місяців тому

      Thank you! I'm glad you like my videos. I don't know how many miles were on the engine. The odometer in the donor truck had junk yard paint pen markings on it, and the engine serial number dates it as a 1998. I did check the compression before I took it all apart and it had between 385 and 405 in all cylinders. I peeked at the cylinders, and a few bearings when I had the oil pan off. I think it is a reman crate motor. 🤷

    I always liked your choice of music for your videos😂. Spot on. Keep up the good work on your videos man. Your clear, concise, and present useful and in a lot of cases in depth information. I don’t have one of these trucks yet, but I will. When I do I’m gonna come back to these videos when I get her all how I want.

    Question, what stand did you use? 1000 or 2000 capacity engine stand?

    • @mygarage.
      @mygarage. 8 місяців тому

      It is a 1000 pound capacity stand... It was a little weak for this engine, but it worked. Fully dressed 7.3 is right at 1,000 pounds.

    • @jeansonnea
      @jeansonnea 8 місяців тому

      @@mygarage. ok I’ll go with a 2000lbs one

    • @mygarage.
      @mygarage. 8 місяців тому

      That would be a better plan than the 1k stand.... It got kinda wobbly a few times.

    • @jeansonnea
      @jeansonnea 8 місяців тому

      When you had it mounted on the stand what size bolt did you use to mount it on the back of the block? I am searching forums but I’m not finding anything

    • @mygarage.
      @mygarage. 8 місяців тому

      Oh man! I can't remember. I remember them being metric. I think they were 14mm x 1.5??? I'd have to compare it to a bell housing bolt.
