Remember when people first like the ending of GOT when it came out? Even the actress had to defend it but now no one talks about it 😂 HOTD, a prequel save the franchise
he cares about armin onlyy bro,,he didnt even think anime make eren character even worse by putting the idiot dialogue,,fact is he didnt even understand armin character also! now i am thinking why he said before that ending was bad just beacuese armin thanking him thats it???
In Season 1 when santa claus bit erens arm off and Eren thought he was going to die. What did he think about? Did he think about Mikasa? Did he cry? No. He thought about Armin and Eren going outside the walls to see the world. --- Now people say he always loved Mikasa and always cared about her and broke down when he knew he was going to die. WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED TO EREN?! THIS IS NOT THE SAME CHARACTER! Biggest Character assassination of all time!
Although I don't like this scene either, but cmon, did anyone ask him what he thinks of Mikasa that time? Here Armin specifically asked him about Mikasa. So he answered. If Armin didn't ask, maybe this panel wouldn't have existed. Again these 2 situations are not the same. I do have issues with Eren Mikasa romance coming out of nowhere tho.
@@chasinghaze0962 he just murdered 80% of the world and armin just randomly wants to talk about Mikasa romance lol. Why did he even bring it up? Dude just destroyed the entire world. the sheer fact that it was brought up shows me how that entire scene was forced.
You guys have no idea how shocked I am that nearly 70% of the anime community is loving the ending, especially anime reactors, guess isayama and mappa got lucky after all, even though isayama himself stated the ending was bad and that he ruined eren's character 🤷♂️
i honestly believe the anime community, particularly anime reactors are just looking for more views and attention, but you are definitely right about isayama and mappa being lucky, right now they are receiving alot of praise, compared to when chapter 139 came out, when alot of manga readers were attacking isayama
Anime onlies love anything lol as long as you make them feel emotions they’ll call it peak even if the story doesn’t make sense add some corny romance here make a character die there and then they’ll call it amazing 😂
It’s like eren was written to be a villain post time skip then try to redeem him by putting in a prisoner of fate plot twist and just a whiny kid with a power he couldn’t control. Trying to humanize eren when you look at all the horrible shit he’s done is just cringy. 😬
...what about child Eren??? what young boy do we know acts like the way he did at that young age? Talking about freedom, living behind a wall? "Kill or be killed"?! Most children wouldn't give a shit about any of that, so the "He's a teenager" argument doesn't matter because this is an anime!!!!
People will see when the time comes that this ending is objectively poorly written, it will not hold up and it will be picked apart. Good writing lasts and this is not good writing
This could also be a honeymoon thing. Just like with elden ring which I predicted.....before the game launched I said PVP would be garbage nearly unplayable. Pvp didn't get fixed until close to a year after release. I kept up to date with the prediction....it took 3-4 months until people started making videos on pvp. This mob mentality sheep mindset is SAD....I was getting verbally attacked in multiple streams for saying PVP was and will be garbage. If you criticized elden ring they'd come after you.
We'll see...I think only a small portion will realize the ending is garbage. There's people who will ignore anything bad so they can continue to believe the ending is good! People who finished the anime are immediately moving onto other things. ---It seems also like the only critics are in the manga side...if you find me an Anime only critic who destroys this ending I'll be impressed.
Bad writing may not last....But you underestimate how long DELUSION lasts in people. This stems beyond anime.... anything about government or whatever...People will stay in delusion until they die. You can't face reality if you always run from it.
It's basically a sunk cost fallacy. Goodness knows how many people have AoT as their very first anime or have invested so much emotional and social capital into it that the thought of it spitting them in the face at the very end (which it totally did) is too much for them to deal with. Hopefully they come to terms with it one day.
@@metalmonkey3866 I always get a kick out of people who claim "people can just have different opinions y u so mad bro?" as if bad endings don't functionally exist. It's just a cheap copout for people to defend the indefensible. You want to argue AoT's ending was anything other than what it was? Defend it on the merits, not you having an opinion and expecting that to count for something.
Its sad when the big channels are too scared to actually voice criticism about the ending. What are they afraid of, their audience will accept their viewpoints even if they don't like the ending...
Same thing that happened in Star Wars Force Awakens. Everyone liked it even the so called Star Wars channels only for smaller channels to actually call out the BS of the movie and the bigger channels. Eventually people come to their senses and the same big Star Wars channels finally admitted it was crap.
@@bobniks8411 Nah, I would agree with you in the case of channels who always loved the ending, but a lot of channels were disappointed or straight up hated the ending when it came in the manga, only to do a total 180 and praise it as a masterpiece now, when the only difference was a conversation that did redeem our two main MCs a bit but did nothing for the plot holes and lazy writing. There's warming up to the ending and there's being too scared to give it any kind of criticism.
Just think about it: Isayama managed to create a silent character, with ZERO dialogue and ZERO monologue but still explore her backstory, struggles, suffering, mystery around her motivation, set such amazing parallels between her, the mc, historia, freckled Ymir, zeke and frieda only through her emotions and actions, symbolism and visuals, he connected it with aot's themes and its lore. He managed to write THIS... so she, ymir fritz, got to be destroyed by 3 gd lines ("only Ymir knows...", "ymir loved the king fritz" and "she was waiting for mikasa") Just... why? WTH? FOR WHAT? Where do I begin? Well, her love for the king... Firstly, no way it's Stockholm syndrome as this shit works differently. So, no. Secondly, even if she loved the king, WHEN did she start to develop feelings for him? Before freeing the pigs? After their marriage? After getting pregnant? When? Thirdly, WHY does she have affection for fritz? He ruined her life in every way, he abused her physically and mentally, he did the same to their children but she... Uh, ok, let's see (as if we can). It's clearly shown in 122 she hated her life with him. But fine, if she loved him, why did she disobey him by freeing the pigs and not regenerating? Why didn't she smile or wasn't happy when he was around? Why did she want him dead instead of her and regreted not letting fritz die? If she regretted this whole time, doesn't it mean she already put herself and her daughters above her husband so the titan curse could end sooner? Now, ymir and mikasa... Their connection has NO buildup. It's never hinted at something common between these two throughout the entire show. The Ackerman's headaches had no allusion to the goddess. So why her? What about this woman made fritz choose mika? The fact she was an Ackerman? Or the person who was able to kill the love of her life? Um, couldn't ymir find someone else, like, sooner, 282 years ago FE, among millions of people, within 2000 years? Or it's because mika killed the founder when it separated from the hallucigenia? How does mikasa know her headaches are caused by ymir messing with her head if eren didn't tell her about that? Who knows, who cares... Why even show so many well-written parallels between ymir fritz, eren, historia and freckled ymir if they have no payoff? Why does Ymir find herself in mikasa but not historia whom she has much more in common with? Historia is a better version of her, so why not wait for reiss? For what reason does she pick a girl with no dignity, self-respect and ability to move on or grow up? How are her relationship with fritz and eremika bond even similar? Eren didn't treat mikasa the way fritz treated his wife. Eren saved and freed mikasa, that assh*le enslaved and turned his woman's life into a nightmare. The mc and the king are completely different just like mika and ymir. What'd she do if mikasa suddenly changed her mind and didn't kill eren? Wait for 2000 years for someone again? How can mikasa help her move on from the king if she herself didn't move on from eren? Next, if Ymir was the one to make titans in paths, who made her titan? Was the hallucigenia a separate organism or was it connected to fritz after giving her titan powers? If it wasn't connected to her, then why did it disappear instead of trying to find a holder? Why was it trying to find one at first but vanished after Eren's death? So the founder's death affects it? Then the hallucigenia should have died when Ymir died. But they're not connected, are they? Or the opposite? Ugh... Why did the founder split into 9 titans? Why not 6 or 27 or 3 if she had 3 daughters? If maria, rosa and shina were able to get their mom's power at the same time, does that mean both erwin and armin could eat bertholdt and become shifters together? And if these 3 ate the founder, shouldn't every descendant of the royal family possess it? Whose child inherited the founder? Rosa's? Maria's? Shina's? Or all simultaneously but after that it split into 9 titans? How did fritz know about the way of passing titan powers to new holders? Was Ymir dead when he fed her to their daughters? If she was, then her power should have been given to a newborn eldian. If she wasn't, then she let the king chop her into pieces and saw her daughters eat her? Is that even possible to stay alive after getting dismembered so many times? If she can rewrite her people's dna, that means she can lengthen their lifetime or make them invulnerable or immortal? Can she provide them with armor appearing out of their bodies or weapons out of the air? Or just stop them from turning into titans? About paths... I refuse to talk about how they work. It'd take one more paragraph Additionally, whose side is Ymir on throughout the story? On fritz's, who planned to build Eldian empire? Or on Zeke's and Karl's who wished to end this empire's existence and wanted her descendants to die? Or on Eren's who tried to save some of them? Is she with mikasa who stopped eren from doing it? Or is she with the alliance who did everything in their power to save the rest of humanity on the continent? Or is she on the royal family's side? WHOM does she obey? Or is it just going with the flow of events? If that's the case, then how can she wait for mikasa? But if it's still for witnessing mika murdering eren, then why does she listen to zeke when eren enters paths? By this logic, she should join the mc right away to see him get killed as soon as possible. Why does she join eren at first and start the rumbling with yeager but then help the alliance defeat him? Why'd she do that to someone who made her moved to tears for the first time after 2000 years of suffering, who told her she's just a person, not a slave or a god, that she gets to decide and choose? Why are we told in the final mikasa saved her if eren already did that? Did she need help twice? If the mc wasn't the one to free her, how could she disobey zeke? Is eren her liberator or pawn? If a liberator, why didn't she tell him what tf she wanted or write shit on the sand, anything? If a pawn, why make a show "at your service, mr zeke" and weep after Eren's speech? Did eren and she even need zeke's royal blood after the rumbling started? Yes and no? Also, what exactly made titans disappear? Eren's death, his refusal to live, mikasa's choice, the fact the hallucigenia separated from the mc, fritz seeing the kiss? What? Ymir's desire to stop? So you mean to tell me she wanted them to exist? She could refuse to make them anytime? Are you kidding me? Why did she smile at the end of ch 138? Because eren got killed or because the goddess saw the kiss? What were those scenes with her watching everyone during the rumbling all about? To think that for more than 100000+- years (if we take into account time in paths moves slower) she created MILLIONS of titans when shifters transformed and when eldians turned into them (dozens times a day), healed her descendants (once again, dozens times a day), changed or erased their memories, rewrote their dna, made shit from crystals, walked millions of kilometers to build titans, carried many-many pails with water and sand, climbed high to make enormous arms, heads, necks etc... for TWO THOUSAND YEARS she made her children and their children suffer, made the world endure, helped the mc start GENOCIDE, watched millions of people die and kill each other, witnessed her people eat one another and so on just because she COULDN'T MOVE ON FROM HER ABUSER! Do you realize how absurd and unrealistic it sounds? What else should I say... Saintitchief is right: either she's the stupidest or the most despicable person ever. Either her plotline is retconned at the last moment or the author just didn't think it out properly (which is so unlikely). Or after all, maybe, just maybe, she was the true aot villain all along, not a victim as we thought. We were just ignorant to see it or didn't want to notice. Tmm, Ymir's character gained the worst conclusion in aot, even worse than eren as we didn't even get to know about her motivation, it remained a mystery because "only she knows...". Her arc was so unresolved and so underdeveloped. What was isayama even thinking?
For me, your point in the third paragraph is what destroyed the ending. There was absolutely no buildup between Ymir and Mikasa. If they both had connections before, I would not say that the ending was that mediocre. Even if I would not like it, I would admit that we can't say it is fundamently bad. But Mikasa suddenly becoming the main character out of absolutely nowhere was the point of non-return for me.
Im still wondering why the buildings in the anime's final scenes look so futuristic. It's like a LOT of time has passed, and the night lights and animation literally plays out like a loony toons scene, or a circus show. Even the animation and the music shows that its a clown ending
My guess is to somewhat redeem Eren's plan (see see, he didn't fail, it took centuries for Paradis to be destroyed) but that just makes it worse, since it means his efforts were not only pointless, but that the outside world kept a grudge for centuries regardless.
@@desmondng5375 ... simply because it was changed weeks before the anime came out ... shows just how insecure Isayama is that he told Mappa to change that but they couldnt change the entire sequence and so we have military tech centuries behind the architecture
I really got mad over this scene 6:10 on the manga, that was peak tragic hero knowing the consequences of his choices, and then we got the "i want her to remember me for at least 10 years", i couldn't believe was the same writer
@saviet4222 "tragic hero", a term for when the hero of a story falls from grace, whether into tragedy or into villainy. In Eren's case for this scene it was both.
Armin blames himself cuz he wasnt able to find a solution which doesnt involve the rumbling when he's supposed to be the commander. Their dialogue in the anime saved Armin's character at the very least
@@GalaxyShogunexactly , in the manga ending paradis only survived up to like 100 years later , there would’ve been no difference if zekes plan went through cause everyone would’ve died around the same time

@@GalaxyShogun yeap , i always thought zekes plan was the best if the end goal was just for them to live out their lives , they all couldve lived together in the end and didnt have to sacrifice their comrades and 80% of the world . What does it even show? It's just some dude creating a meme ending? Anyone could even do that stuff to your favourite anime. If you want some serious analysis, I recommend "This video will change how you see Eren" by the youtube channel invaderzz.
@@bobniks8411 😂😂 that video was trash😂 it was full of head cannons and bs. The whole video was built on what he thinks freedom means for Eren and guess what Eren voice actor said what freedom means to Eren and it’s goes against what invaderzz said which means his whole vid is irrelevant
He rushed the ending for no reason. No reason but that he got bored and didn't know what to do. I can't help but think this is all Isayama's wicked way of reflection. Either way it's certainly time to move on and forget this show ever existed. No point in beating a horse that's been dead for over 2 years.
i felt like the full genocide ending was his original ending.. he already had an ending in his mind in his teen, overtime he realizes how stupid and edgy it is probably and that reflects on Eren, Eren was the same Eren as a kid same goal the only difference is that it was applied in different settings.
Togashi has taken so many breaks, I couldn't believe how bad the writing was getting the last after the alliance got formed and he kept going, and isayama refused to do the same. It just went completely down hill on the last 3 chapter.
My theory is that Isayama self inserted in his characters or added people from his past in the story as an inspiration since the beginning of the manga but he can't seem to let go when the story needed the characters to evolve(can't kill Armin in the Serumbowl, can't have Eren or Mikasa confess their love and can't have Eren win as an evil dictator). So he decided to end it now before he dig himself even deeper. Eren is obviously younger edgelord Isayama when he was poor and AoT was not yet popular. Eren may also reflect Isayama's secret wish to be the aggressive leader type that is proactive. As Isayama got older, he stopped being an edge lord and somehow disconnected with Eren so he made him as a villain. In the end he couldn't pull the trigger to fulfill all the plot points he setup. Mikasa is probably based on a childhood crush that Isayama never got. She can also represent Isayama's experience of having one sided love. Notice how Eren never seemed to give Mikasa any attention or proactively confessed to her despite knowing how much she likes him. Also notice how Mikasa acted like a NPC that just follows Eren but fails to actually confess to Eren several times for stupid reasons. I mean normally a person who knows that the person they love may die will never hesitate to say what they truly feel fearing they'll never be able to see that person again. In Mikasa's case she had multiple opportunities and only a retard would still stutter and use the "family" line. I believe Mikasa is that way because the person that she was based on was an unrequited childhood crush. So Isayama can't have Eren and Mikasa have a real relationship. Armin is most likely the Isayama today. Someone that wants to be seen as a "good guy". Also the way Armin speaks in the Omake SNK AU is close to how Isayama thinks if we based it on the interviews. Also anyone who has seen the pic where Isayama was standing behind an Armin standee like he was a shadow is a good hint that Armin is a self insert.
Attack on Titan's ending and One Piece Gear 5th have proven to me that the even remotely popular people that discuss anime on UA-cam have become beyond corrupted by the subscriber system and it's only causing a domino effect of ignorance. They can't objectively analyze jack crap anymore in fear of the backlash. Even people hating the manga ending now flip-flopping despite such insignificant changes. People are just going to create echo chambers for themselves and the industry's quality will only continue to spiral downward. It's a sad day. It's already basically been like this for years to be honest, but remakes are going to start to be even more of just about the only seasonal stuff I care about.
little Rant incoming i think what a lot of ending Defends get wrong is that they think that most of us Ending Haters are all a bunch of childish, immature, Whiny little complainers who just can't stand the fact that they liked the ending that much. There is nothing wrong at all with liking something. even when it's bad. but at the end of the day, a lot of us think logically and critically about the stuff we consume. and when you look at the objective facts given by the previous seasons, and the information and rules established by Isayama, it makes absolutely no sense. on a logical and a character perspective. So all of these ending defenders who are calling this the greatest ending in history, have to be able to explain why it's so perfect in every way. and when that moment comes, all they have are sloppy, irrelevant arguments or straight up headcanons, or even worse, they don't even remember the source material. And then *we* are suddenly blasted by them for not liking the ending. when we are the ones in the right here. To have no arguments to defend something you like and to then villianise those who didn't is just straight up ridiculous. and i've seen such a huge amount of hate on ending haters i can't ignore it. We care about logic in our stories, and it's true that writing a flawless story is very difficult. and it's not expected. but the sheer amount of character assasination in this last episode is so massive and so obvious. that it's hard to just ignore. eventually though, we have to accept it. getting furiously mad at someone for liking and enjoying something even though it's dogshit is pointless. but i would have hoped this would have all gone more maturely. instead of such an all out war. Just have a good, civilised argument with someone about why it's well written or not. But no, it's all Childish bickering, Making up nonsense to prove your point. giving hate speeches, and all that shit. that's why i think AOT's community is so unbearable. were all immature and stupid. Most of the Ending haters, Ending Defenders, and AOE boys alike.
22:30 I think we are missing an important point here... Even if it was more than 100 years after Eren's friends death, it's naive to think it isn't related to what Eren did. Just remember how Marley and the rest of the world kept treating the Eldians 100 years after the Titan war. Now you get 2000 years of hatred towards the Eldian Empire AND the rumbling which killed 80% of the world. In AoT universe, this can only mean the rest of world's hate towards Paradis only grew stronger and stronger to the point that it isn't too far fetched to think they retaliated once they repopulated and rebuilt their nations. In this prespective yes, Eren failed because the moment the world had the opportunity, they took revenge.
That's some wild interpretation lol. Just look at our own world for example. You think any of the youth bears any hatred against the current Germany and has a plan to take revenge?
@@bobniks8411Or generations of japanese people hating the US for dropping nuclear bombs on them? Paradis was destroyed, but look at the city! That was way beyond anything in our world! Whatever the reasons it was destroyed, Titans and the Rumbling are not even on the list
That's what comment in some videos, Eren's choice to only caring about his friends living a full life, locked paradis on it's destruction, even the fake plan Zeke had create was better, buying time with the rumbling, but hey Eren couldn't let historia and her family have that 'tragic' fate despite she loving her husband
@@bobniks8411 You clearly haven't read history at all. People DID bear hatred towards Germany, Germany only salvaged its reputation by genuine remorse in the 60s, and even then German reunification was opposed fiercely all across Europe. Besides, this is a bad example, since we can look at many civilizations throughout history to see hatred enduring, such as the still existing hatred of Jews and for a less extreme example many European kings specifically naming wars and battles to avenge past defeats that happened centuries prior.
1. Reiner and Annie deserved to die. They killed hundreds of thousands of people during their time on paradise but they receive redemption arcs and all of a sudden they can live long lives. what. They should have died in the battle and it would of been a befitting ending to their lives. Instead, everyone dick rides genocidal Reiner and Annie because they are fan favorites. They still murdered hundreds of thousnads of people. 2. Eren killed 80% of the world so his friends can live long lives? He forced his father to murder an entire family and then forced his stepmom to kill his mother for the sake of his friends? smh... people really think the ending was 10/10 and good story telling. Anime community *in general is encapsulated in emotions. Vs Manga community who aren't & are more logical. Manga readers idk how much but a good portion " liked" it in general. So essentially the anime just multiplied that portion. --You had the delusional manga readers & now its the anime. It seems like it's alot only since....anime is just more popular then the manga.
It’s so much easier to be positive and say “I liked it” as a content creator than to go against the flow and critique a story people love. Acting like the ending is okay is the easy route because you don’t have to deal with angry fans that liked the series calling you a hater or possibly unsubbing because you’re “too negative.”
Come on saint, I too left anime happier than manga. Manga left me extremally confused in "WTF just happened?" way and I had to reread last chapters and go discuss this shit online. Now anime? For me it started with Zeke and leaf-kun. I laughed, probably harder or as hard as ever. And I kept laughing all the way till the ending. I don't want that, I am idiot, I killed my mother and Ymir loved Fritz were my hardest outbursts during finale. Reiner tanking everything and soloing Hallu-chan was also peak. Animations were cool, as for OST, it didn't bring anything better than previous seasons, it was alright. I hoped for AOE, didn't happen. It is what it is. Without AOE ending was meant to be miserable, after all, whole Avengers squad assembling was dogshit writing retconning character motives and only wiping at least half of them could maybe somehow recover this. Truly, Game of Thrones of Anime.
I feel your frustrations bro this shit had me depressed for two days like I can't even just call isayama crap an move on cuz hes already proven serval times to have the skills to diliver , this ending just felt forced an substaged honestly. People who think the moment things went downhill was Eren’s breakdown scene don’t understand Eren’s character at all. That shit happened long before that.
Armin wasnt immoral with blowing up marley's navy. His goal wasnt to kill women and children, but to wipe out the military's power. Sometimes casualties get caught in the crossfire. Even eren was within his morality to attack marley until he started rumbling innocent people
15:48, thats not the point that even ChibiReviews was making, and regardless the fixed scene in the anime armin didn't even say he made eren do what he did he just say he influenced him because he led him to a thought of a free unoccupied world, thats what that statement meant it was not to be equivalent to him telling eren what to do everytime like committing the rumbling
If you thinkHistoria getting banged by a random farmer , eren being a pathetic s!mp who doesn't know what he's doing , reiner sniffing letters etc. is great ending then you're just low iq and there is no point in arguing with you lol
4:53 I mean whether he killed 100% or 80% like, that is still kind of him being a monster, they spent over 100 years not knowing anyone was outside of the walls, and yes, Eren had as much reason as he could have to kill everyone, I know, but I mean both Eren and the outside world are monsters in my opinion, I can still accept the ending but the writing is not satisfying, so many plot holes because of it but oh well, gonna blame Isayama getting rushed for why the ending was pretty much bad, and for anyone saying he had 2 years I mean, the anime probably took forever to make especially since he helped advise the artists and stuff, but yea, an ok ending in my opinion but with many plot holes.
You see your friend in distress and you try to make them feel love they are not alone. If my friend is wrong i will them know that, i will also remind them that i can be wrong in my actions too that i am not telling them they’re wrong because im perfect but because of my imperfections too. I feel this is what Armin does in the anime, despite how bad erens actions are armin reminds him that he didn’t need to suffer alone. I think we’re reading way too deep into this
There are a few assumptions: 1) they pretend to be stupid to annoy ending haters or turn off their brains while watching it 2) they forgot what happened in the previous chapters and episodes 3) they watched it for the sake of shipping, action, memes, feeling emotions, entertainment, visuals and legendary moments or because everyone else watched it 4) they don't have an idea how stories are written 5) they don't wanna admit they wasted their time or that isayama could ever screw up after being a genius for more than a decade
@@annett_55555 u're just coping. the ending is obviously not flawless there are a few plot holes here and there but when you actively try to ruin your own experience by searching for the tiniest shit just to find excuse to bitch about the story ofc you are gonna hate it like most you do. To be honest, anime ending felt better than manga ending, because conversation with Armin and Eren was better fleshed out. It culminated everything Eren and Armin was taught or what was learned during the entirety of AoT: War won't stop until there is one or less person left. Even if Eren wiped rest of world, the war would eventually start once again to bring chaos to the world. It has happened inside Paradis Island, during its civil wars within military. What really matters, is that the warring parties both are stooped in equal level. Enough for them to find a chance for diplomacy as Armin has washed his hands publicly for participating in genocide level of destruction, although he knew he'd face Hell like Eren did. The ending put them in peace for quite some time. Looking at Mikasa's generation you could expect that the peace lasted for at least more than 120 years if not more as a speculation. The structures in Paradis Island were also very futuristic, until compared to futuristic Paradis Island structures there were war vehicles we know very well in real world. Making it seem that Paradis Island was destroyed with seemingly outdated of its time machinery, likely indicating that Paradis Island didn't focus its war technology enough, likely because of guilt of participating in worldwide genocide: (Do refer to Germany, they were put in guilty status for quite some time, even if current generation of theirs had nothing to do with past crimes. This was noticed especially because Germany has very small army.) It essentially made the ending very mixed bag, but that's how the real world also feels. There is no completely happy or sad endings there. Eren simply did what he could to let Eldians be free from curse. He could've cheated with women for Mikasa to kill Eren, but it wouldn't have put the walls down and let people be more unified to fight against the titan issue. I think Eren did pretty insane but effective effort to end the curse. At cost of many at worst.
I'm sorry but lol wut? Effectively all the anime did was slap a bandaid on what was the narrative equivalent of an arm being chopped off. Did anything substantive change in the anime from the manga? No. Did Eren actually end up changing anything despite his obvious time-skipping powers giving him everything he'd need to do so? No. Does it in any way compensate for him willingly killing his own mother and having his purported friends endure agonizing levels of suffering only to accomplish nothing of merit? F**k no.
Tbf I can see his crying at the very end being different than any other time simply because he knows it’s the end Still could’ve been done way better though 19:00 pretty well said 30:50 Idt the message is saying Eren is like him, it’s saying both had a unrequited love and needed to let them go Chibi also contradicted his whole Ymir point “should’ve given us a panel so we knew why she loved him” but right before he says he’s aware it’s basically Stockholm As for Mikasa being buried with the scarf, she’s never going to forget about him, even if she marries and has kids U don’t expect a widow to dump the ashes of her ex husband
better done? Any person would have a breakdown in this situation, people who got butt hurt because Eren broke down never understood Eren or just lack basic empathy
@@victorluna2847 Don’t be stupid. Nobody complains about Eren crying because he is crying. EVERY scene in which he cried before was justified and had a lot of meaning behind it that could not be debate or argued against. Not a single one could be seen as "whining" to someone with a brain. His mom, hannes, at the cave, to Ramzi etc were all beautiful and understandable moments. Crying about stepsis AS he rumbles the planet (takes place in 131, not that it would matter if it was after anyways) when he never showed any romantic interest in her , didn’t make an effort to confess in the 8 years he had left to live once he found out about the curse, didn’t think about her ONCE every other time he was about to die and more are very good reasons as to why some people think that scene is absolute trash.

@saintitchief okay...it still happened tho???? Armin isn't saying that he's equally responsible as Eren for causing the Rumbling but he _did_ plant the original idea in his head. He had no idea what Eren would do with that idea but that fact does stand. That allows Armin to assume some of the responsibility from Eren and alleviate the burden of genocide from his best friend. It's not the same meaning as "You became a mass murderer for our sakes. Thank you. I promise to not let this terrible error be for nothing." But the intention is the same. Armin is just attempting to comfort Eren; the anime version elevates the scene by making Armin almost seem like he wants to really get the point across to Eren that he's not alone. He has an "accomplice". One whom I, you, Eren, and anyone who knows Armin's character can understand would never legitimately be complicit in something like this.
The ending is not the only bad thing about this show. Everyone who defends it just talks about the last chapter. The story was ruined every vhapter after eren touched zekes hand.

To those who don’t understand why Eren didn’t show any love toward Mikasa, here are the reasons: 1. He will not have the strength to activate the rumbling 2. Mikasa will not have the strength to kill him 3. Mikasa would have hurt a lot more even if she managed to kill him. And that’s why Eren breaks down because he never had the chance to be with Mikasa or even confess his feelings.
what about in season 1-3? Eren was always pushing her as a romantic interest, rather their relationship would be more fitting into a sibling one (throughout S1-S3)
The scarf is originally black (meaning death,) at least, it is in the manga. Wit studio made the scarf red because they were (the director at least) Eremika shippers. And I am not kidding, they really took the liberty to do that.
Foreshadowed ever since the very first chapter's title, and still there wasn't enough time to make ymir a convincing character but instead, the most poorly written? Piss off
Just think about it: Isayama managed to create a silent character, with ZERO dialogue and ZERO monologue but still explore her backstory, struggles, suffering, mystery around her motivation, set such amazing parallels between her, the mc, historia, freckled Ymir, zeke and frieda only through her emotions and actions, symbolism and visuals, he connected it with aot's themes and its lore. Firstly, no way it's Stockholm syndrome cuz this shit works differently. You guys read about it yourselves. So, no. Secondly, WHEN did she start to develop feelings for him? Before freeing the pigs? After their marriage? After getting pregnant? When? Thirdly, WHY does she have affection for her husband? He ruined her life in every way, he abused her physically and mentally, he did the same thing to their children but she... Uh, ok, let's see (as if we could). If she loves him, why does she disobey him by freeing the pigs and not regenerating? Why doesn't she smile or isn't happy when he's around? Why does she want him dead instead of her and regrets not letting fritz die? If she regretted this whole time, doesn't it mean she already put herself and her daughters above her husband so the titan curse could end sooner? Now, ymir and mikasa... Their connection has NO buildup. It's never hinted at something common between these two throughout the entire show. The Ackerman's headaches had no allusion to the goddess. So why mikasa? What about this woman made fritz choose her? The fact she was an Ackerman? Or the person who was able to kill the love of her life? Um, couldn't ymir find someone else, like, sooner, 282 years ago for example, among millions of people, within 2000 years? Or it's because mika killed the founder when it separated from hallucigenia? Who knows, who cares... Why even show so many well-written parallels between ymir fritz, eren, historia and freckled ymir if they have no payoff? Why does Ymir find herself in mikasa but not historia whom she has much more in common with? Historia is a better version of her, so why not wait for reiss? For what reason does she pick a girl with no dignity, self-respect and ability to move on or grow up? How are her relationship with fritz and eremika bond even similar? Eren didn't treat mikasa the way fritz treated his wife. Eren saved and freed mikasa, that tyrant enslaved and and turned his woman's life into a nightmare. The mc and the king are complete OPPOSITES just like mika and ymir. What would she do if mikasa suddenly changed her mind and didn't kill eren? Wait for 2000 years for someone again? How can mikasa help her move on from the king if ackerman didn't move on from eren herself? Next, if Ymir was the one to make titans in the paths, who made her titan? Was the hallucigenia a separate organism or was it connected to fritz after giving her titan powers? If it wasn't connected to her, then why did it disappear instead of trying to find a new holder? Why was it trying to find one at first but vanished after Eren's death? So the founder's death affects it? Then the hallucigenia should have died when Ymir died. But they're not connected, are they? Or the opposite? Ugh... Why did the founder split into 9 titans? Why not 6 or 27 or 3 if she had 3 daughters? If maria, rosa and shina were able to get their mom's power at the same time, does that mean both erwin and armin could eat berthold and become shifters together? How did fritz know about the way of passing titan powers to new holders? Was Ymir dead when he fed her to their daughters? If she wasn't, then her power should have been given to a newborn eldian. If she was, then she allowed the king chip her into pieces and saw her daughters eat her? If she can rewrite her people's dna, that means she can lenthen their lifetime or make them invulnerable or immortal? Can she provide them with armor appearing out of their bodies or weapons out of the air? Or just stop them from turning into titans? About the paths... I refuse to talk about how they work. I would take one more paragraph Additionally, whose side is Ymir throughout the story on? On fritz's, who planned to build Eldian empire? Or on Zeke's and Karl's who wished to end this empire's existence and wanted her descendants to die? Or on Eren's who tried to save some of them? Is she with mikasa who stopped eren from doing it? Or is she with the alliance who did everything in their power to to save the rest of humanity on the continent? Or is she on the royal family's side? WHOM does she obey? Or is it just going with the flow of events? If that's the case, then how can she wait for mikasa? But if it's still for witnessing mikasa murdering eren, then why does she listen to zeke when eren enters the paths? By this logic, she should join the mc immediately to see him get killed as soon as possible. What were those scenes with her watching everyone during the rumbling all about? Why does she join eren at first and starts the rumbling with the boy but then helps the alliance to defeat him? Why would she do that to someone who made her moved to tears for the first time after 2000 years of suffering? Who healed her by his words of kindness, who told her she's just a person, not a slave or a god, that she get to decide and choose? Why are we told in the final mikasa saved her if eren already did that? Did she need help two times? If the mc wasn't the one to free her, how could she disobey zeke? Is eren her liberator or pawn? If a liberator, why didn't she tell him what she wanted or write shit on sand, anything? If a pawn, why make a show "at your service, mr zeke" and weep after Eren's speech? Also, what exactly made titans disappear? Eren's death, his refusal to live, mikasa's choice, the fact hallucigenia separated from the mc, the fact fritz saw the kiss? What? Ymir's desire to stop? So you mean to tell me she wanted them to exist? She could refuse making them anytime? Why did she smile at the end of ch 138? Because eren got killed or because the goddess saw the kiss? To think that for more than 100000+- years (if we take into account time in the paths moves slower) she created MILLIONS of titans when shifters transformed and when eldians turned into them (dozens times a day), healed her descendants (once again, dozens times a day), changed or erased their memories, rewrote their dna, made shit from crystals, walked millions of kilometers to build titans, carried many-many pails with water and sand, climbed high to make enormous arms, heads, necks etc... for TWO THOUSAND YEARS she made her children and their children suffer, made the world endure, helped the mc start GENOCIDE, watched millions of people die and kill each other, witnessed her people eat one another and so on just because she COULDN'T MOVE ON FROM HER ABUSER! What else should I say... Either she is the stupidest human being or the most despicable and evil person ever. Either her plotline is retconned, or the author just didn't think it out properly (which is so unlikely). Maybe, just maybe, she was the true villain of the story all along, not a victim as we thought. We were just ignorant to see it or didn't want to notice. TMM, Ymir's character gained the worst conclusion in aot, even worse than eren because we didn't even get to know about her motivation, it remained a mystery because "only she knows...". Her arc was so unresolved and so underdeveloped. What was Isayama even thinking?
What was foreshadowed since the very first chapter was EREN not MIKASA It literally was about the scene were Eren breaks out of his chains in the Paths to convince her. THAT was what that title was about. You Ending defenders literally forgot the story.
Foreshadowing doesn't necessarly mean good writing. By your logic GOT 8 was good because it was foreshadowed that Daenerys would've destroy King Landing. Too bad it wasn't build up during the story. Same goes here. Even if the "see you later" was foreshadowed in chapter 1 it doesn't mean it makes sense for Mikasa to be the one to free Ymir because the story was always about Eren and not her. This is not good writing.
Ugh anyway I'm happy to see some ending haters change their stance on the series conclusion now that the more rushed aspects have been properly expounded on. Idk why the other half want the rest of the world to be as miserable as them 😂 Love that they're failing in this mission tho...

Togashi has taken so many breaks, I couldn't believe how bad the writing was getting the last after the alliance got formed and he kept going, and isayama refused to do the same. It just went completely down hill on the last 3 chapter.
its all done on purpose for an aoe
@@msmodshs2if you look at the old manga chapters you can see it was meant to be 100% rumbling and Historia baby was meant to be special

Even people hating the manga ending now flip-flopping despite such insignificant changes. i think what a lot of ending Defends get wrong is that they think that most of us Ending Haters are all a bunch of childish, immature, Whiny little complainers who just can't stand the fact that they liked the ending that much.

15:48, thats not the point that even ChibiReviews was making, and regardless the fixed scene in the anime armin didn't even say he made eren do what he did he just say he influenced him because he led him to a thought of a free unoccupied world, thats what that statement meant it was not to be equivalent to him telling eren what to do everytime like committing the rumbling

This was noticed especially because Germany has very small army.)
It essentially made the ending very mixed bag, but that's how the real world also feels.
F**k no.
Tbf I can see his crying at the very end being different than any other time simply because he knows it’s the end
Still could’ve been done way better though
19:00 pretty well said
30:50 Idt the message is saying Eren is like him, it’s saying both had a unrequited love and needed to let them go

Ending was pretty great tbh
Reason?
If you thinkHistoria getting banged by a random farmer , eren being a pathetic s!mp who doesn't know what he's doing , reiner sniffing letters etc. is great ending then you're just low iq and there is no point in arguing with you lol

To those who don’t understand why Eren didn’t show any love toward Mikasa, here are the reasons:
1. He will not have the strength to activate the rumbling
2. Mikasa will not have the strength to kill him
3. Mikasa would have hurt a lot more even if she managed to kill him.
And that’s why Eren breaks down because he never had the chance to be with Mikasa or even confess his feelings.
Reason number 4 : Isayama retconned the character of eren in the final chapters.
what about in season 1-3? Eren was always pushing her as a romantic interest, rather their relationship would be more fitting into a sibling one (throughout S1-S3)
The scarf is the symbol for his love. He promise Mikasa that he would put it on her over and over again in Season 2.

He managed to write THIS... so she, ymir fritz, got to be destroyed by 3 gd lines ("only Ymir knows...", "ymir loved the king fritz" and "she was waiting for mikasa")
Just... why? WTH? FOR WHAT?
Where do I begin? Well, her love for the king...
I would take one more paragraph
Additionally, whose side is Ymir throughout the story on?
What was foreshadowed since the very first chapter was EREN not MIKASA
It literally was about the scene were Eren breaks out of his chains in the Paths to convince her.
Ur a dk rider
Ugh anyway I'm happy to see some ending haters change their stance on the series conclusion now that the more rushed aspects have been properly expounded on. Idk why the other half want the rest of the world to be as miserable as them 😂 Love that they're failing in this mission tho...
13:21 because armin is the one who showed him the book and the scenery
and eren wanted ti achieve this scenery by killing all people outside of paradis island he said it
if eren wanted to achieve that scenery why did he send millions of burning hot colossal titans to go stomp the planet 🙄

If he wanted to achieve that scenery why did he say at the end of season 3 that “if we kill all of our enemies will we be finally free”

@@Jonas-jx3kw and the sea was peopleless. The scenery was symbolically important to Eren, because it was denied to him by a world that wanted to genocide eldia. That's why Eren is so depressed at the sea, while everything else is having a great time, despite seeing the sea was eren's main goal for several years.
