Eren’s character is basically stagnant the entire time. The only time he really “developed” was the last season. That development wasn’t development though because he changed off screen. The final season just character assassinated him. Truly, don’t know why people think the last few episodes/chapters is the only problem. The entirety of season 4 was the problem. Eren is also a very annoying character, which is odd for a main character. Eren is a loudmouth, prideful, impulsive, impatient, easy to anger, know it all brat. I dread every time he showed up. Why? Knew he was going to spurge out on someone and have a nasty attitude, which people don’t really confront him on.

To be honest, aot started to fail at the end episode of season 1.

I really love the idea of Eren and Mikasa as a couple, but their love story was poorly developed and rushed in the end. Eren cares about Mikasa in the sense that he wants her to survive and live a long life, but does he care about what she wants? Did he consider her pain whenever he ran away from her, as a child or in battles? How she felt when he pushed her away in the years to come after they reached sea? Did he care about her ache when he disappeared in season 4 without any explanation? About the trauma he caused by forcing her to kill him, only to leave her in a nearly destroyed world? Did he mind that his plan involved confessing his hatred and belittling her years of love? Did he care that Mikasa probably would have preferred to spent 8 years in a cabin with him, even if it meant a shorter life? He’s willing to destroy the world for her, but couldn't spend a second to listen to what she wants. He thinks her survival is everything, but in the world of AOT, survival is almost a punishment (think of Levi). Maybe his inability for healthy love is just part of the whole tragedy.

He suffers from psychosis. If you'll recall, he didn't even remember what happened. He had to accept what happened because of the bite marks. (That he didn't remember giving) What he did can't be defended. But I also can't hold it against him. Any one of the stressors that he was suffering from (lack of sleep, severe trauma, constant endangerment, ect) could have caused a phsycotic break on its own.

I was very disappointed with the writing; it felt dumb and lazy. The first half was interesting because I expected that the author had thought everything through, but then it became clear he was just improvising the story, with no clue about what to do next. He kept writing himself into a corner repeatedly and had to invent some nonsense to keep it going. I probably couldn't write something as solid as FMAB, but I feel like I could have made HxH much better if I had the time. It had so much potential, but it turned out to be a mess. Honestly, it feels like watching some Witcher gameplay where the player starts every side quest but doesn’t finish any and then quits in the middle of the game.

Greed Island is the biggest waste of manga I have ever read. You can skip the first half of the Auction House arc. The Succession Arc has nothing to do with HxH and should be a separate manga.

I hate the ending as much as anyone, but it’s reasonable to believe that Annie didn’t eat Eren on the off chance he was the Founder, because they were instructed to recapture the Founder and bring it to Marley alive. They would then pass the Founder to another Warrior candidate to have yet another Titan in their military,studying it to find out how they can use its power.

The anime changed it and made it better. When Armin asks about mikasa in the anime, it was before eren told him that he killed 80% of humanity. The anime made that conversation way better and it saved the ending

I came here because I had to search UA-cam to see if I'm the only one who thinks this is the most overrated anime. Have HxH fans actually seen AoT? That's the only true masterpiece, not this lame ass shonen with an overrated lazy ass writer

Note: Armin punches Eren because he was standing up for Mikasa both times. Armin, the guy who actually cares about and values Mikasa as a friend.

Eren and Historia made much more sense, they had good chemistry and understood each other. On the other hand Mikasa was just a simp over Eren throughout the series, everything about her personality is "EREH". It was like she was actually his slave. Meanwhile Historia would have been a really good partner for Eren, they had an entire arc exploring that. To be honest when Historia'a kid opened her eyes in the anime I just hoped them to be Eren's and Farmer kun was just a cover. But we know how that turned out.

Is so poor and ridiculous how Isayama randomly just invented that because Armin ate Berthold, he was influenced by his memories and then turned into a Berthold 2.0 when is not the case of the other shifters ☠️ If it was Erwin the one who would had inherited the Colossal Titan then Isayama would have never invented such absurd thing because he himself would had knew that it would have been innapropiate Erwin simping Annie ☠️.
