@@thatoneblackdude3333 The funny thing is that ending is forced made to look positive, but the logical conclusions from it lead to the opposite effects. This is called "forced trash ending", similar to the death note - where the main character was made an idiot so that he would quickly lose to the old opponent's substitute (all to extend the plot after L's death).
Eren: _Massacres 80% of the world_ Armin: "We good" 20% of the world: "An eldian just killed 80% of the world and you think it's fine because you saved u-" Armin: "I SAID WE GOOD"
To this day I don’t understand why Mikasa is the one person Armin and Eren are talking about. Eren just slaughtered 80% of the world, billions upon billions of people. But no, let’s talk about the stalker girl and how unacceptable it is to turn down someone’s feelings for you if they’ve been obsessing over you for years. What a disgusting message. And the complete destruction of Armin’s character.

@@keytra6291 Eren told Armin that he did the rumbling, and there really isn’t anything for Armin to do except ask why. I don’t think he would yell at Eren for something he’s done already, when he’s about to die. But Isayama definitely should’ve shown Armin to be more upset
Armin tried talk no Jutsu lots of time in the series and it always failed until Zeke like when he tried to not get them cannoned in the 1 season and that guy was about to blow them up until Pixis appeared or when tried it on Berthold and he nuked them instead.
Still can't believe this chapter is canon. Eren wanting to live after killing the world, wanting redemption, wanting Mikasa. Ymir did all the stuff out of love for king Fritz. Love? Mikasa was the chosen one even though she only protected Eren, nothing more. Armin thanking Eren for becoming a mass murderer. 80% of the population died but the people in Marley of all places like Annie's father survived? And suddenly after killing Eren, they are all remembering Eren, even Pieck? And Eren just said he killed his mother in some way? What, I mean literally what is this?

Honestly. The ending gets worse the more you think about it. You would think after the rage and disappointment goes away, you would see it better, but with a clearer mind, the glaring flaws just increase in number.
Same, immediately after I read it I was like "I guess... that wasn't THAT bad?" But within a few hours, the more I thought about it the more I hated literally every single thing about it.
This ending completely ruined the series for me. It's incredible how years and years of loving an anime can be destroyed by the worst ending anyone could ever imagine.
There’s no way there can be that many contradictions in one chapter unintentionally, I feel like he pulled an Eren with the “I’ve always hated you” line, he wrote it to be so bad intentionally to make us have absolutely zero expectations for the ending and that way when AOE happens we are so shocked bc not only has it hardly happened before in anime/manga history, but also everyone who knows the ending is astounded by how he planned it out to be that way
He totally destroyed the themes and story he was working with. Isayama is not above reproach or criticism, he *should* be criticized for this. It's morally wrong to lie to your audience and assassinate your most inspiring characters.
Honestly I am happy for the characters that died prior to this. At least they didn't get butchered to the point where you hate the characters. Like Freckled Ymir, Erwin, etc. Would have been sad to see more well developed characters suffer with bad writing

there’s no way isayama didn’t change the ending i’m sure eren x historia was supposed to be a thing but he changed it to a fan service ending to make them eren x mikasa shipper happy because what was the point of historia being introduced pregnant at the beginning of season 4, it was never confirmed who the father is but there were so many hints that it’s eren, or for example when zeke told eren mikasa loves him why did he think of historia there and not mikasa? why would isayama add that if it meant nothing. historia is still my favourite aot character but what was the point of her character in season 4? all the parallels with ymir fritz for nothing?? and her relationship with eren? why did eren even tell historia about his “plan” it makes no sense, i’m not even rlly a erehisu shipper it’s just what makes more sense to the plot like for example ymir being reborn as historias baby and finally being free all of these theory’s were better then whatever the fuck this ending was and the fact historia is a side character doesn’t excuse how she was sidelined in season 4 she was literally one of the best and most important characters
He didn't even tell her his real plan ??? Why did he have to do that to her when she is the person who never hurted him she even saved him she was the one who understand his plan and stood by his side just to him end up using her like for no reason at all ? That doesn't make sense even if he dont like her or she is irrelevant in his life ( which isn't true she was the last one he talk about in his pov before post timeskip ) why would he do something awful like that letting her be with a irrelevant bully for his plan ? "Does no one find this fucking disturbing?" Frankly I found the part where Ymir SMILED at Mikasa holding the head of a decapitated man very disturbing. I love this series overall and all of the effort Isayama put into it, but this ending is just a disaster, confusing, senseless and disturbing. Ymir also just wanting to see if someone would kill the person they love just so she could play out her "I wish I killed him" fantasy is just atrocious. Like... it basically means the entire reason Eren did what he did was... so Ymir could... watch him be killed? All that tells me is Ymir took two people, someone in love and the person she loved, and made the person she loved do this that and the other thing to test her loyalty just to see if she'd kill him... and that if she did, Ymir would get to "live her fantasy"? And then she just... smiles all happy that she ruined all these lives just to live out her happy little "I wish I killed him" fantasy? If you ask me that makes it sound like the whole "there is no villain" is incorrect, because it makes me view Ymir as a villain. She toyed with people's lived just to have her happy ending. She had her chess piece commit genocide and ruin all those lives so she could be selfish and be free. Eren's existing character up until that point was basically wiped out because he ended up her pawn, and like... we're supposed to see Ymir in a good light? We're supposed to feel uwu bad for her because she used to be a slave who for some reason fell in love with her enslaver and forced her to have his kids? Being a slave doesn't justify her enslaving someone to play out a role so that she can fulfill her little fantasy, and it also doesn't paint slaves themselves in a good light. I understand that may been a huge oversight by Isayama and that he probably didn't mean harm or anything like that, but my takeaway from all of this is that even though yeah, King Fritz is a villain, Ymir also became a villain and was the main villain of the entire story because of what she did. And again, the way she SMILES after all is said and done, after supposedly 80 percent of the world was destroyed and she's /watching a woman hold a man's decapitated head/, is just disturbing to me. You could argue that Eren was manipulated by her all along because if she was manipulating future Eren who was manipulating the past/past Eren to eventually enact what would lead to Ymir's goal, that would mean she always had a hold on Eren, but like... I'm supposed to LIKE that ending? Accept that as the ending to this story? It doesn't feel to me like Isayama made Eren the villain, but that Eren was a victim of Ymir, who was the actual villain, and took the fall for her nonsense. Ymir's smile at the end wasn't a sad smile either (still wouldn't be good, but wouldn't be so icky to me). It was just outright, pure happiness. Aside from everything /else/ wrong with the ending (including like... the whole Mikasa bullshit and how Eren should just love her back because she's been willingly committed to him all this time and it's HIS fault if he doesn't love her back, and that you MUST love someone if they commit to you regardless of if that's what you want or not), that entire concept just feels so gross and I'm at the point where I'm just going to happily pretend this ending just never happened lol.
EXACTLY! This is my whole issue because like… why does Ymir need to see Mikasa do this to Eren? This implies Eren is like King Fritz even tho he isn’t??! Fritz enslaved Ymir, sexually abused her, used her as a weapon to conquer, etc. Eren MET Mikasa because he freed her from her captors and freed her from a life of enslavement and sexual abuse!!!! Eren never sexually abused mikasa WTF and he never used her as a way to conquer ppl etc like it’s just ?!?!!? Makes no sense. And it makes me mad too in regards to eremika because what a way to shit on their relationship!
If Isayama forgot about Marco as you say then why did he beat up Reiner when they were sitting around the fire, it was because that is how Jean acted after finding out that Reiner, Annie and Bertholdth were responsible for Marco’s death.
@@arminarlert7273 Yea, maybe he should have, I personally am one of the people that had wanted him to because he has always been an important character in my eyes because of his influence on Jean. The criticism you brought up is one of the best criticisms that I have seen, I know that Isayama couldn’t include every single character, but Marco was pretty important. If he did not forget about Marco than maybe he had thought of Marco a character not important enough to be shown, but either way I will take that as him forgetting about Marco considering the fact that there was basically no purpose of not showing Marco. I do feel though that when it comes to things like that that end up getting picked on, it makes us assume that the author forgot his whole story and all of his characters(one of the things I have seen a few people saying), which is something that I don’t believe in the slightest. Others are saying that the ending was retconned, and although I believed that it could have been at first, after looking at the reasonings that people had for the ending being retconned I have come to believe that it wasn’t retconned. Either way I want to thank you for telling me of a pretty good criticism, it is one that I can take seriously and something I feel can’t be overlooked as the author either forgetting about Marco or thinking it wouldn’t be good to include Marco.

Eren being controlled by his rage and hate while also being horrified by his own actions to the point that he wants his friends to kill him before chapter 139: perfectly understandable. @@DenisK21 I don't think eren being so horrified he wants his friends to kill him makes sense at all, I can buy the other things, but I'm pretty sure he never wanted to be killed as he stated in his conversation with armin, I think he did know the weight of his actions to some extent but did it anyway because his emotions are so strong he can't get affected by anyone's opinion or rationality. Then he just let them kill him because he himself set them free, if it was their decision to stop him, so be it, he can't harm the friends he so much wished to live long lives
I just don't get it... how Armin knew Eren said "Forget about me" to Mikasa? He wasn't in that dream, and their convo is happening much earlier than the dream with Mikasa. This whole episode had more plotholes than a pin cushion.

You really gotta love how Eren’s buddies are so quick to accept the whole “he became a mass murderer for our sake” deal. And nobody questioned it. Not one person was like “dude that’s still a bit fucked up.” It’s even funnier since they all wound up going to war again anyways and humanity got nuked back to the Middle Ages. The ending is basically saying that Eren’s initial plan of a full genocide was the best course of action to preserve the Eldians’ safety.

This is so heartbreakingly bad. If someone would have given me the key points of the ending some years ago - Eren dies in order to make the world a better place for his friends, Armin becomes a hero and lives up to Erens words of "saving humanity", Eren admits his feelilngs for Mikasa - I would have been delighted and deemed it a great way to end the series. And then along comes this horrible, horrible execution with OOC-ness, bad dialogue, terrible "romance", retcon and degression.
46:15 I'm crying bro. Deadass how did Eren connect with birds? We didn't see any birds in Paths when he brought ALL the Eldians there to announce the Rumbling, so they're not linked by blood and it can't be titan shit. He literally just did that because... Like it doesn't make sense. Then, let's assume titan related thing somehow did do it, how the fuck is he a bird AFTER death? When he died the powers ended. Ymir, the worm, Mikasa, Reiner's mom, whoever the fuck, ended the powers. When did Eren have time to just become a bird? Is that what he was doing while he was sleeping? The fuck? Also I agree with you, but don't slander Isayama too hard. I'd bet my life this wasn't his ending. It just goes against almost everything he's said about the entire series ever. Sad way to end this shit fr. Editors and fans cloud people's judgement and we get stuff like this.
this is all under the assumption that this was isayama’s choice. i should’ve pointed it out in the video but of course if this was not his work (which it helps me sleep believing that it wasn’t) then of course none of my words are targeted towards him.
Armin.....the one who tried to resolve conflict without violence.....what did he do when he learned of Eren's plan to murder million or billion of people? A: Try to stop his best friend from commiting genecide by convincing Eren peacefully. B: Try to stop Eren by force or at least condemn such plan (not possible in dream, but he could've at least try) C: Suggest something less violence, maybe just declare war on one country instead of the entire world. D. Ask "What about Mikasa?" .........(wtf???)
Before 139 : man, Ymir had it rough. I hope Eren can free her soul and end the titan curse. After 139 : you Ymir, stay there and be a good slave and pleasure thing for Chad Fritz
The funniest thing about this ending is that some nameless and faceless dude, who has no impact on the plot or other characters and is not even a character himself, gets to become the king of paradis after marrying historia 🤡
@@thrilla72mfg... historia is NOT Ymir. She unlike fritz refused to live for somebody and became queen on her terms. She got pregnant by her will, ran an orphanage by her will. Marrying the farmer doesn't make any sense not only from the psychological / relationship (or whatever) perspective but also from the narrative one cause one of important characters became a wife of a dude we know nothing about. It's bad writing. So funny to see how the ending defenders buy everything Isayama drew in ch 139: buy the fact he didn't complete his themes, buy Eren's amnesia when it comes to his motivation, buy Armin's out-of-nowhere violence, buy ymir's stupid reason for doing shit, the unexplored lore, Mikasa's sudden importance with no buildup (meanwhile historia and Ymir actually had one), reiss's arc abandonment and so on
Um aren't the humans who were turned just inside the nape. Just like any other titan shifter. Well at the beginning at least overtime they merge and become one but not for a while.
Mindless titans becoming naked after turning back into humans hasn't really been consistent in the series. Eren had clothes on after becoming one when he ate Grisha and so did Grisha when he ate Kruger

I was about to write the exact same comment! Everyone died for “i don’t know” lol. Erwin’s charge, Hange’s sacrifice, Sasha’s death was just Eren clowning
because he needed everything to be the way it was so he could save his freinds and give them freedom why cant yall get that. if he changed things that drastically there's no telling how much worse he could've made the timeline
@@parkourmaster7610 no it would be speculation to assume changing time that drastically would have made things better. Eren knew the safest way was to continue with his plan
@Solange Parker for his people that is. Which is al he cares about because he belives all the people on the outside are monsters which is understandable
After reading the manga ending, to me it all boils down to why armin was chosen over Erwin, seeing how armin was practically useless and didn’t even attempt convincing eren to change his mind or talk to him about why he acted the way he did, being content with eren’s “I don’t know” and “only Ymir knows” answers. Like boi, you had one job and that was to use your talk no jutsu but you didn’t even TRY. Isn’t that your implied role?? To be a pacifist and see the good in people? Anw, I know I’m a huge Erwin simp, but still setting aside all my loyalty to Erwin and looking at it in a logical way, Erwin was definitely the better choice. Initially I came to terms with the fact that probably armin would undergo a huge character development and play a vital role at the later half, but seeing that he basically just existed to be part of that one attack on marley, and be Annie’s boo, it just brings back all the exasperation and disappointment I had at the beginning when they chose armin over Erwin. And don’t come at me with the “oh Erwin solely existed to find out what was in the basement and that’s it, he would have just given up beyond that” crap. In the conversation w Levi before they left, he clearly states that he will exterminate the threat, after they find out the identity of the threat (by discovering the secrets in the basement), so it makes no sense to me why people even bring that argument up. Also going by that same Logic, we can say armin would give up all his will to continue and forge onwards towards a bigger goal, as soon as he sees the ocean/sea, which was basically his driving force his whole life. Well whatever it is, the point is I just think Erwin would have added more thrill To the story, also can you imagine people’s reaction if ishiyama went against the traditional shonen arc, where friends of the mc have plot armours thicker than Kim k’s ass and made the choice to pick Erwin. I think it would have been just refreshing and interesting to see someone completely shock us with non conventional story twists. Also Erwin as the colossal Titan would just be amazing to say the least and I would have loved for that story aspect to be explored further and how it would have changed the dynamics and outcome of the story, but sadly all we got by them choosing armin is colossal pain and disappointment. My god, the ending of this manga was just a bummer.
Commander Erwin would have ended the whole manga in 5 chapters. We needed Erwins Strategic and leading skills so badly in season 4😭. That's why I consider se as the end of AOT. Shinzou wo Sasegyo!!
@@aryanbhola3046 After Erwin visited the outside world and saw how much the rest of the world hated Eldians he would’ve for sure used the colossal Titan nuke in the middle of Liberia.
yeah i was an armin simp and no matter how stupid i thought the choice was, i did not care because i just liked armin a lot. but he disappointed the shit outta me post time skip, like he was ridiculously useless and nobody ever said anything. id rather he die a hero than devolve into this bs atp. erwin shoulda got the shot 😪
Although theere are many gems dropped in this video, idk if anything tops "Never been done before...I don't even have to look it up, no one would do something so stupid" truly iconic. I used this daily because of this video
I don't know how a lot of people are still defending this ending🤦🏻 I understand many people love AOT and don't want to admit is a shitty conclusion. I was okay with the ending at first, but then I opened my mind and realize this ending ruined what could have been one of the greatest manga stories. People need to be honest and stop being idiotic fanboys.
yea no , u need to be honest and stop moaning and crying that u didn't get ur headcannon ending 😂 u people didn't understand the true themes of the story and are crying out of straight ignorance lmao it's sad
One thing I just noticed: this whole time, protagonists in this series used the sunk cost fallacy (I.e. “we already sacrificed so much so why waste whatever we already lost”) to justify actions. But now that Eren was willing to kill 80% of the world’s population (hundreds of millions or likely over a billion people, depending on exactly how long ago this takes place)... he’s not willing to say “I already killed so many, why stop now? I have to finish what I started.” Like seriously this is the character whose main motto is to never stop moving forward until all his enemies are completely destroyed and removed from the earth. But then he stops short of his final plan in his final moments. He talked down to Reiner for being half-assed in his conviction, but is doing the same thing himself. Granted there’s a panel in one of the last chapters when Eren acknowledges he’s even worse than Reiner, but that’s not the same context. Besides, if you leave 20% of the world alive (more than enough people to be able to take revenge... and in the relatively short term future too), all those lives you killed were actually genuinely wasted for nothing. Your goal of protecting the island would fall short, but you’d still have the moral stain of killing almost as many people as if you had just finished your goddamn plan. Wtf is this ending. The extra chapters version that Isayama released have an even worse ending. It shows for a fact that Paradis will eventually get bombed completely into the ground, confirming that Eren failed in his goal simply due to stopping at 80%. Plus, it implies with the tree and the child that the cycle of titans being created will happen all over again, which means he also failed at his second goal of ridding the world of titans. Garbage writing all around.
Don't forget his stupid 3d motivation - to have his friends lead a happy long life. It's very optimistic considering they will live in fascist Paradise after a mass genocide of the rest of the world. How can one overcome this? DId they get desensitized after so much hardship they had been through?
Here waiting for the usual "Eren is a hypocrite he's a realistic interpretation of what a person would do in his place that's why his behavior is inconsistent" just like how they justify shit like Ymir. Also, really hated the bit with the tree and the child, I fucking hate "and a new story will begin" endings with a passion, and before AoT ended I tended to joke about how AoT would end implying the beginning would come again, but I didn't expect for something like this to happen.
I first saw the alliance in the show and made me super annoyed that they were doing this avengers bullshit with the save the world crap. When I read the rest of the shit in the manga, they confirmed my worst fears. They actually made this into a Marvel movie, with the insane alliance plot armour, etc. They bloody made my boy eren into a discount thanos. What the hell does 80% do??? Most of those left were from marley. Like he didn't even achieve full revenge on Marley. Sure as hell didn't save Paradis. All of this political drama finally boiled down to seeing wheter Mikasa could kill eren. It sure as hell was obvious Armins magical Talk no Jutsu skills wouldn't hold up for long. Like Paradis was like 1% of the world population. Eren left 20% bitter population alive and the most fun part, he took away the power of titans just like Thanos did with the stones. It was literally their biggest defence against enemies. The best part is he took them away only till Paradis was eliminated totally and then the titan tree was back. At least before all this Eren was a piece of shit i could root for. One of those rare villains like Walter white where you get attached to them. The ending just made him into an absolute idiot who i now hate.
@@v4n113 nah, he needed it only once against them. Destroying almost the whole city just for taking the titan away and 5-minute usage of it is bullshit
Really my whole problem with this ending isn’t the Eremika thing, it’s more the implication that Eremika is supposed to parallel King Fritz and Ymir which… canonically isn’t true??? King Fritz enslaved, r*ped and humiliated Ymir.. Eren literally met Mikasa by FREEING her from her captures who were trying to ENSLAVE her… he also never sexually abused Mikasa, he offered her his home and actually cared about her. King Fritz did none of these things and this is my whole issue with chapter 139, because it acts as if Eren is basically like Fritz or at the very least implies that Ymir didn’t break the curse until she saw Mikasa kill Eren… for some reason. Why did she need to see Mikasa kill Eren?! Why does this empower her to break free from Fritz LMAO like ??!?! Eren is nothing like Fritz??!!?!!!? Makes no sense to me
@@muffmuff3631 exactly and it pisses me off tbh because it basically is such an insult to eren and mikasa’s entire relationship and it also feels like a huge slap in the face to any eremika shipper. Isayama basically strung us along the entire manga giving us subtle hints and crumbs to tease us and then pulled the rug out from under us by creating this horrible implication that the canon didn’t even support at the last second, and that has me more upset than most anything else. The rest of the writing for the ending is questionable, but it feels especially insulting in regards to eremika and how it was handled because these two characters are so important and their whole bond is constantly highlighted throughout the story only for it to be insulted by the ending
@@blackcatbrewz Retconned ending. Simple as that. Isayama had an ending in mind when he started this story but I would bet my corpse that it wasn't this one. Isayama is fucked up for putting Eren on the same level as King Fritz to create a Ymir-Mikasa parallel, even more fucked up for ultimately still having Mikasa deeply bonded to Eren, after his death, TIL HER DEATH lmao
@@muffmuff3631 exactly, I agree I think this ending isn’t the original plan. Because nothing about it makes sense, there’s no way it was all supposed to be this weird ymir mikasa parallel that somehow ends everything lol. And right? If Eren is soooo evil to Isayama, then why did he make sure that Mikasa would grieve him for the remainder of her life and then be buried beside him having never moved on? That’s fucked up??? Isn’t that what Ymir did anyway by never moving on from what Fritz did to her? Sorry Isayama but you’re literally never gonna force me to view Eremika as being anything like Ymir and Fritz LMAOOO like idc how much he tries, I refuse to accept that because they were never portrayed even somewhat similarly until the retcon ending. And anyway, the whole idea that Mikasa must kill Eren to appease Ymir is dumb regardless because WHY does she need to see this? Wasn’t Eren somewhat kind toward her and wasn’t he the only person who ever viewed her as a human, rather than a slave or god or anything else? Didn’t he free Ymir when he did this for her? So why does she want to repay his actions by seeing him be literally beheaded by the girl he loves? Wtf 😭😭😭 if anything this just makes me view Ymir as the ultimate villain
@@blackcatbrewz Yeah, Ymir was even a good character... until 139, like saintitchief said, seemingly she created titans for 2000 years cause she needed to see a girl kill the one she loves. evil haha. since that doesn't even make sense, Isayama had to put in "Ymir loved King Fritz" to make it make sense, but it doesn't lol. It's so sad, AOE should have happened but of course the fans who paid attention to the story won't get to win

This dude called every single panel garbage/ trash I wanted to say Thank you sir. Now, i can rest because i thought i was just being a whiny bitch. This could be an average ending for another anime, but because it's aot it's a piece of shit. Issayama either lost sight of how he wanted to close this story or he was sick & tired of this manga so he decided to write "whatever" to get this shit over with. ( I liked the scene were Levi did the salute for the last time).
I'm convinced Isayama was either drunk or high when he wrote this garbage ass ending and you can't convince me otherwise. I just couldn't believe what I was reading man, Eren killing 80% of humanity, achieving absolutely nothing and then becoming a bird at the end? Like seriously? 😑 we aren't exaggerating when we say that this shit was beyond terrible
I tried sending this video to an ending-defender and I got a dm back like not even 10 mins later talkin bout, and I quote “Light skin black dude is a dumbass. I listened to his first two points and it just seems like he wanted to rip apart everything Isayama said and really didn’t even make sense what he was upset about” , and he was tryna sound so intellectual haha what a joke. Saint wasn’t tryna rip apart isyama’s work. He did a pretty good job at that all by himself 🤡
Also Tom Xaver stated that Eldians are like an extension of the founder titan and Ymir. So, if Ymir is gone, shouldn't all Eldians die with her? If not, why?
Why should they die? Why not just become disconnected? Where is the implication that they should die? you are just looking for shit to complain about even when it makes no sense.
If Armin could really negotiate with them, then why didn't they send Armin to negotiate when they all got to Marley to negotiate..😂 cause all of them saw, negotiating isn't an option, so why do that in the end of the story??

you know, if i remember correctly one of erens conversations with falco was something along the lines of "only those who are willing to die should fight/go to war". and then in this chapter he whines about not wanting to die right after killing 80%. wtf. You know what really fucks me up about peoples reaction to this ending? the fact that the people who where on erens side are MORE upset about armin thanking eren for killing people then the people who where against eren. like htf does that even calculate right?
Because Eren killing everyone was one logical conclusion to his character, whereas Armin wasn’t an angry revenge-fueled person. Someone can believe Armin shouldn’t thank him, even if they’re personally on the side of Eren’s plan.
Yo when you think about it tho this whole first part of this ch is out of context Eren breaks down says he’s bout to die like it’s the end ch but this whole conversation takes place before The Alliance even reaches him. They haven’t even gotten on the plane yet.
here from isayamas leaked interview, he admitted he wasn't good enough for the themes portrayed plus the ending was changed (twice I think I'm not sure), and the editor did have something to do with it
The part where Armin tells Eren off for hurting Mikasa's feelings would've been 10,000x better like so. Instead of crying about Mikasa finding another man, Eren cries about how much it destroyed him to push his two dearest friends away.
So sad the ending was rushed and not fully flushed out that's why what they said it was going to end soon I'm like there's still so much more we need to know why rush it, let's finish it right
1. Why did the Yeagerists allow mikasa to return to the island and stay there after killing their leader? The same goes with kiyomi and her people 2. "Ymir saw herself in mikasa, that's why she refused her power when mikasa killed the one she loved". Um, couldn't fritz find someone else for 2000 years? Mikasa is the only one who had a lover and managed to assassinate him? The only person among millions? 3. If the female titan can get any power from any shifter after just biting him/her, then why the hell didn't she get one from Eren? In the forest, she bit off the attack titan's neck to take eren to marley. Why ftgs didn't she possess the ability to see the future? 4. Why does historia protect Jean's and Connie's families in ch 139 if she supported the rumbling? 5. If eren knew he would die, then why didn't he know the result of Mikasa's decision? Isn't it a contradiction? 6. Where is yelena in the last chapter? 7. How tf could mikasa hide from the marleyans and get back to paradis? 8. Why could eren sacrifice sasha, floch and hange for the rest of his friends but not historia (1 person) for sasha, mikasa, armin, jean, levi, hange, connie and floch? 9. How did king fritz know about the way of passing titan powers? 10. Why were 9 titans formed from the founder? 11. Why did eren even take the war hammer away? For a 5-minute fight against porco and reiner and for breaking out of jail? He attacked the city and killed so many people only for THIS? 12. How can yeager turn into the colossal titan? 13. Why and how does falco's titan change its form and nature? 14. Why does levi want to kill zeke, who murdered his comrades, but not annie, who murdered his comrades? Why is she even alive in the end? What kind of logic is this? 15. If eren can manipulate titans through the past, why didn't he make his colossal titans leave hange alone? You wanna say, he can in the past but not in the present? 16. Why do the Yeagerists let historia do whatever she wants (to remain the queen, to protect her friends' families, to host armin and the rest)? Don't they have power on the island? Who even is on Historia's side, so she's still the ruler? These are the questions I could recall. There are even more
I'm sorry, I'm not a native speaker. 3. Here, most likely, the same thing is meant as Rice's jar. 4. Most likely, because they are not guilty of the sins of their children. 6. Most likely she was shot, but then why is Kiyomi in Paradise? 7. Not so. How could Mikasa walk across a scorched continent, swim across a bay without a ship, carrying a decaying head with her? 9. Most likely opened by accident. 11. It's just a nice bonus for destroying the fleet. 16. Hisa is already a Yegherist, there is no reason to overthrow her.
3. The attack Titan doesn't have power. That power originates from the Eren who resides in paths. The attack Titan is more equivalent to a regular titan with human cognition
5. Eren said he knew the results of her choice which is why he moved forward right?? Which is why he wondered what she would do. Which is still stupid since he knows he dies
I love how the replies to people saying the ending is bad are filled with people saying YOU DIDNT UNDERSTAND THE STORY!!!!!, but I cant find one comment here saying that cause they know they got proven wrong lmao

It was also the same soldier who upon looking at the rumbling said that it's every nations' hatered fault for pushing Eren to this point and if he gains the chance to fix that mistake, he'll take it.
Then he immediatly orders his men to turn their guns against Eldians the moment the danger passed

Chapter 139 recontextualizes all Eren POVs in the manga. People still think Eren put a damn facade in the majority of the manga? A proper 'plot twist' needs foreshadowing AND buildup but none of it were present. 139 Eren is a retcon, stop the mental gymnastics.
For the love of god please stop the gymnastics

Like seconds ago they were throwing their asses out on the line to stop Eren from wiping out 99.5% of humanity. But suddenly it’s cool because he was making himself a Martyr. And nobody questioned it. Not one person was like “dude that’s still a bit fucked up.”
It’s even funnier since they all wound up going to war again anyways and humanity got nuked back to the Middle Ages. The ending is basically saying that Eren’s initial plan of a full genocide was the best course of action to preserve the Eldians’ safety.
Am I the only one that has a problem that armin is considered the savior and takes all the credit even tho he barely did anything in this arc and mikasa was the one who got rid of Titans and kill eren just me ok
This ending is the perfect armin happy ending he is traveling around the world getting the hero treatment that he absolutely dont deserve he is also the peace group leader when reiner jean , peick exist ..... He even got himself a girlfriend . No wonder he is soo grateful rumbling happened
You are wrong. Armin did use his talk no jutsu ability to save everyone and is now on his way to sign a peace treaty with yeagerists whose leader he supposedly killed lol🙄
Nope, that was infuriating that Armin gets all the damn credit, when Mikasa did the damn work, I hate Armin!😑😑😑
I hate Mikasa so I don't give a fuck if she killed Eren and or got no credit.
What I love is when Armin says 'We need to tell them the truth' and that so-called truth is gonna start with 'Armin killed Eren' pffff ok
The whole rumbling arc seems pretty rushed especially near the end it gets me thinking that isayama was just sick of it and wanted to end it asap
When you think about it the fumbling arc was sus fork the jump we just didn't want to except it

Ymir: To you, 2000 years from now.
Eren: Is for me?
Ymir: ¡NOoooOoO! iS fOr MikAsA!!
Eren had the best talk no jutsu. He gathered everyone's sympathy.
True they even come to his anniversary to his attempt to kill humanity outside the wall, isn’t that nice?
It's not even worthy of being called Talk no jutsu, at least when Naruto did it it was actually well written and convincing.
What about armin?
Armin.....the one who tried to resolve conflict without violence.....what did he do when he learned of Eren's plan to murder million or billion of people?
A: Try to stop his best friend from commiting genecide by convincing Eren peacefully.
B: Try to stop Eren by force or at least condemn such plan (not possible in dream, but he could've at least try)
C: Suggest something less violence, maybe just declare war on one country instead of the entire world.
D. Ask "What about Mikasa?" .........(wtf???)

@@saintitchiefAYO man do this?????
Let's not also forget the war hammer titan was completely useless
he would've died against porco and renier so not exactly

Makes no sense to me
You're goddamn right and one of many reasons why the ending is trash

6. Yelena rode a dolphin back to paradise.... 😁 😊
7. The bigger question is how did she get back.
Without him being the father. It's just weird favoritism not explained. Hacksayama
Makes me sad because I loved AOT I still do but it definitely took a hit after this chapter I still don’t know how to process it man.
I love how the replies to people saying the ending is bad are filled with people saying YOU DIDNT UNDERSTAND THE STORY!!!!!, but I cant find one comment here saying that cause they know they got proven wrong lmao
Damn, I can’t believe everything is officially over now. Crazy. Anime and manga. Nostalgia. I hated the ending, but I’ll miss all of the community. o7
