  • Welcome back to part 2 of our carnivore deep dive with Dr. Paul Saladino! In this episode we pick up right where we left off with how plants use sometimes not so subtle toxins to defend themselves from predators. The conversation continues through the best fats to consume and ends with a rapid-fire round of everything from meat quality to supplementation to whether fish count as meat on a carne diet.
    How animals/humans are PC’s and plants are Mac’s: The operating systems are different. Just a personal testimony here… I was chronically constipated for over a decade and when I discovered the carnivore diet and started to eat that way after five days I didn’t need the aloe laxative that I had to take every day for over eight years! I eat zero fiber and poop better than I ever have in my adult life! 🤯🙌🥩💗

    Everything you see exist in a delicate balance as kings (Humans) we need
    to understand that balance and respect all creatures from the crawling
    ant to the leaping antelope. When we die our body's become the grass and
    the antelope eat the grass and so we are all connected in the great
    circle of life. Mufassa (The lion King)!

    Ben,
    I’ve been following you for years, and have really benefitted from doing so. I haven’t commented on any of your videos but I think it’s important to do so in this case.
    First, I would just like to remind viewers that almost no medical schools in the United States teach courses on nutrition. In this case, it is evident that you know many times more than this doctor. His own diet (raw eggs (bad idea), raw liver (bad idea) and only animal products (horrible idea)) is simply unhealthy. It’s absolutely true that meat is helpful when it comes to growing muscle, but it’s helpful in growing cancer cells as well. This guy talks about eating meat for skin issues. My wife runs one of the largest dermatology practices in the US (50+ dermatologists) and agreed that his statements are absurd.
    Eating like this is silly, and the largest, most credible and unbiased studies of human nutrition don’t support it. Check out nutritionfacts.org for unbiased info. This isn’t info for those who want to pack on 30lbs of muscle, but it certainly is a great place for people to go who simply want to live a long and healthy life.
    I love your stuff, Ben, but this is really out there. I get how bodybuilders would love to hear that eating so many animal products is healthy, but this simply isn’t supported by credible studies.
    PS- you are a fantastic interviewer!

      Your comment that nutritionfacts.org provides unbiased info is ludicrous.
      Criticizing Dr. Saladino's diet as being bad, bad, and horrible certainly does not seem to jive with his picture, athletic accomplishments, and reported health markers. Oh well. Everybody gets to believe what they want to believe.

    • @trevestor
      @trevestor 5 років тому

      It’s biased how so? And what do you know about someone else’s markers? His claims aren’t consistent with what any of the largest studies of human nutrition show. Yes, you can look great by eating massive amounts of protein and bulking up with muscle, but it certainly isn’t the key to longevity. You’re supporting an n of 1. I’m supporting the evidence from the largest studies of human nutrition ever conducted. Other viewers can choose which side of that debate they’d like to be on.

    • @trevestor
      @trevestor 5 років тому

      @Thor Odinson LOL. I'm pretty sure you're joking but as this is a random youtube video comment section I don't know who you are. What I do know is that, if you are serious, then you know zero about nutrition. Forget nutritionfacts.org. Just look at the results of the largest studies of human nutrition ever conducted. I suspect you don't know where such data is published, but I won't offer than information as you will claim that it is somehow biased. Please do some research before making yourself look foolish.

    • @trevestor
      @trevestor 5 років тому

      @Thor Odinson How many smokers live until they're super old? Very few is the correct answer. You hear about the ones who do because it's news-worthy. Sadly, living a "fuller" life isn't very scientific. And you're right, living "better" CAN be impacted by eating red meat, because you will not live better if you consume too much red meat. Again, please research before commenting.

      Lmao nutritionfacts.org is Dr Micheal Gregor site, who is a vegan advocate...How do you claim this as unbiased bud? Ben had a podcast with Gregor, he looked like a fool then just as much as he does in any other interview. Not a credible source. Please research before commenting.
