Awesome rescue! That poor sloggoth though... XD I can almost feel the motion sickness riding on that platform would have caused. The creaking of the old wood and slow unnatural swaying from the burdened sloggoth... All the chittering and screaming and drumming from the boyz... yep, definitely has a story.
I am a big proponent of using your airbrush as much as possible to speed up painting big parts of the model. However when it comes to painting leather or wood, it can be beneficial to brush on the inks to get that natural uneven staining that simulate wood or leather texture.
Looks great to me, as usual, Casey! Creativity and inventiveness is what makes this hobby fun, and I'm starting to branch out little by little into making more interesting bases of late, as it happens. I'm starting to raid my bits boxes more often to see what I can add to make things more exciting visually in that realm, and sooner or later I will try branching out a bit more into actual kit bashing. Nice work, sir!
Im dating myself here, but this unlocks a memory from childhood, the movie Time Bandits, a giant ends up with their ship on its head when it comes out of the sea. This makes me think of the effects of them sliding around on the deck while he walked. Also, how satisfying was how easily that ivory covered? hnngghh
Lil tip for flesh colors. Actual skin has green tones to it as well. It's something folks always overlook but it makes a difference. Doesn't take much, but makes a difference. Learned that from one of the best prop makers in the movie industry when we worked together for some music video prosthetics.
Great finished result! Love all the work you do showing us that you can make great quality while staying more affordable. On that end, I've recently been getting the itch to get back into model and mini building/painting, but, I'm a decade in the past on knowledge. With the holiday season and downtime/winter indoors for many people, maybe you could put together a video or series about getting into mini building/painting for beginners and on a good price to performance ratio. Thanks for all great content you put out!
It looks awesome! I’m glad you had a lot of fun doing this. I’ve been looking at that troll and thinking about using him with Beast Snaggaz in 40k. Some Nob riding a troll he found instead of a squigasaur. lol , the most important part is to have fun with things
This is probably the best model on your channel. Great job! One thing I think would've made it better is a bit of actual damage on the hull. Nothing too extensive, but the paint just feels a bit disconnected from the physical condition. It's weird for it to crash in a swamp and not lose even one bomb on it's side. At least cutting some of those off and making some scratches, or just metal chips with a sponge on the hull would make it even better. If you'd want to go really into it, you could even cut off a whole bomb compartment and go in heavy with bends and rips of metal. To show that one of them exploded, either mid air or when crashing. That would obviously add a ton of work to the project, but could look really good. Anyway, it still looks awesome, good job once again.:)
Could have gone with the beast comming out of the dark waters. Like semi-submerged/climbing out on to land. Storywise "ohh the goblins are comming by boat, we'll be fine as long as we stay on land. Uhmm Captain? Yes..? Ohh... Ohh No"
Agreed. If the story is swamp salvage then the bombs would have already been used, seperated from the ship during/after crashing or just otherwise be duds and have been removed by the goblins.
Completely disagree! If anything I would have loved to see a more in depth conversion with the Sloggoth reaching one arm backwards to grab and throw the bombs, they're the perfect position for him. But that's a very difficult conversion to do
Oh man, I finally gave in and subbed after binging your vids for the past couple of days. Insane skills... If I had reference vids like this 20+ years ago, my warzone minis would not have looked like ass :-D
I have a suggestion for your jewellery chains. Go look for those necklaces that have tons of dangling little chains. They are often cheap stuff aimed at teenagers. Really small link chains for years to come for just about 10 bucks 👍
Well that is awesome. Okay I did not thought it would be anything less to be honest. About your Khadaron Overlords: why not turn them into Squats? You have the skill, the knowledge and the tricks to get the parts needed for that project. (or just print them...) That could be a fun video series. Converting each kind of Khadaron troops/units/HQ to a respective Squat equivalent. With that hint of "we have been rescued". AND you could either sell the whole army on Ebay or just join in the Raffle like Brent does each year. (maybe drag Brent into this aswell, maybe even more UA-camrs)
way to flex those photoshopp skillz...from concept to execution....nice to see that imagination at work...great swampy content...Happy Halloween Big C !
I've been on vacation for a bit and what a video to come back to. The reveal was sick. I love the goblin with the KO mask. Your videography skills have come a long way. Thank you for all your hard work.
Not a fan of war hammer. Started watching your videos for dnd monster ideas. Took a break from painting but it’s good to be back watching your skill and attention to detail
Man, the completed mini is epic! I think the only thing I would say you missed, you should have put a little bit of 'swamp grass' on some of the crashed airship. 🤘😎🤘
thank you for the video ^^ that's on enice centerpiece for an army. it remind me when i stoped caring for the size of my model when i realised that in tournament, other player aloways find a way to shoot at me, and i decided to convert a giant riding an arachnarock, and everyone loved the model (and it got killed in the first or second turn like before anyway
I really don't ever think about size, if it makes the model cool then I'm all about it. In AOS that seems to be less of an issue though, I've only ever had it actually come up in a game of 40k. I don't play that often though...
I picked up the water effect a while back at, I'm pretty sure, Hobby Lobby. It's seriously just called Realistic Water Effect. Woodland Scenics makes something similar with the same name and I'm pretty sure it's the same type of resin. It's just an air dry clear resin that comes in a squeeze bottle, very nice for bases for sure!
Dumb question that you’ve probably already answered but does la’s totally awesome damage plastic miniatures if you’re soaking them to remove the paint.
They are totally on there! One of them has a little salvaged KO hat and the others are riding on top, it really does make the project, I don't think I could have left them off.
@@eBayMiniatureRescues I meant more that the footage that details your work on those grots was missing. I would have loved to see see what your thought process was in terms of what colors to use to paint the grots, and how to integrate KO pieces.
I gotta say, the one thing I don't think an airbrush works well for is a wooden surface. Wood almost inevitably has more than one shade of brown at least, and an airbrush simply can not lay the colour down along the line of the grain.
I don't really have an eBay store. Sometimes I do put up models from the channel, it's actually been a little bit since I've done that, but I plan on getting back to posting models for auction. When I do put models up for sale I make sure to mention it in the video and put links in the description. My name on eBay is " eminiaturerescues " if you do want to follow me though :)
When you say you shot white ink over it whay do you mean by that, it seems different then just throwing white paint over it through an airbrush, that orbi just need to practice more
It's not that different than white paint, but white ink is about a million times easier to shoot through an airbrush and you don't really get any speckling with it, it's very smooth!
ours fluctuated too, but more often it lands on the less expensive side. Best thing to do is set up notifications at the price you would pay so you don't miss out. I have to do that a lot of the time.
Obligatory comment for the youtube algorithm.
I love conversions, kitbashes, and anything unconventional.
Two thumbs way up.
I really love this conversion.
You absolutely nailed it.
Though I do feel sorry for the Slogoth.
thankfully there is still one floating bulb on the ship still so its not as heavy as it could have been
I think of the Sloggoth like an ant, he's pretty much got super strength, or at least that's what I'm telling myself lol
The only thing I feel could’ve improved this would be a little bit of mud dripping from the airship hull itself
That would make it even better!
That would make a nice addition!
This is an amazing conversion! I really love the little goblin crewman with a looted dwarf helmet on!
I am a big proponent of using your airbrush as much as possible to speed up painting big parts of the model. However when it comes to painting leather or wood, it can be beneficial to brush on the inks to get that natural uneven staining that simulate wood or leather texture.
Amazing how well that all fit together!
I was pretty surprised too, it felt good going together, not always the case with conversions for sure.
One of your coolest, nicest looking conversions yet
Really liked the planning face of the model including searching stuff on eBay and detailing how you came to this idea.
Fantastic model! Well done.

What a cool concept! Great execution as well!
thanks!
I always love the music you use. Especially for this model. Sort of a Delta Blues vibe. Well done, sir.
this is one of the best conversions ive ever seen.
I totally see why it's your favorite! This is incredible!

Nice work. The conversion is amazing. Bravo !!!
15.56..OMG..its the little bloke with the trident from James Bond : Man with the Golden Gun.
Such a cool idea to weather an airship like it's been in a swamp. The water damage works so well with the nautical design elements!
Great finished result!

DUDE, that is so SIIICK. Great idea, fantastic implementation!
KO are my favorite army and I loved how you painted the most recent one. I wish you would build that army, but this is super cool, too!
Everything in this video, the approach, the story, the model, the presentation are top notch, well done.
Thanks!!
Really beautiful,congratulations !❤❤

Actually crazy job, keep them coming
I'm excited for these orcs!
In my head cannon, Krulboyz all sound like Squidbillies.
One of the best kitbashes I’ve ever seen
I love the sloggoth kit. I painted it like a death metal band member, but it seems it's not everyone's jam.
I love this one! Great idea!
This is really cool. Nice job.
Awesome, love the concept and conversion
I LOVE this piece! This turn out wonderfully.
This one is a good one! Great conversion

Storywise "ohh the goblins are comming by boat, we'll be fine as long as we stay on land. Uhmm Captain? Yes..? Ohh... Ohh No"
You should use a layer mask for non destructive changes in photoshop, so you can always add parts back in that you've removed
Love this convertion, i really like the idea...
This was epic. Wish you had shown the process you did for the goblins. That dwarf mask on one of them was a nice touch!
Thanks! I almost showed the gobbo stuff, but this video was already getting pretty long, the helmet I did think would be a nice surprise :)
@@eBayMiniatureRescues that’s understandable. Personally I wouldn’t mind your videos being a bit longer. I get tons of inspiration from your mini’s.
Very creative conversion. Personally I would have removed the bomb racks, but you do you
Agreed. If the story is swamp salvage then the bombs would have already been used, seperated from the ship during/after crashing or just otherwise be duds and have been removed by the goblins.

I appreciate that!

Really like that you used photoshop to make sure your idea would work! Great process and result
Great music and crafting
This is awesome !!!!!
Could add this to the Death Guard army and I not feel too out of place 😂
Great work
The OG model should be this awesome by default, dude. Wouldn't want it in any other way, not gonna lie.
Superb!
Go Kruleboyz!
i might have to steal this and make a kharadron goblin army
Troggoth chiropractics: Aw yes...
Loved this!!!
That's rad.
Man, the completed mini is epic! I think the only thing I would say you missed, you should have put a little bit of 'swamp grass' on some of the crashed airship.

yeah a little mud and grass wouldn't hurt!

hey Mate, great work. Could you be so nice and share your recording setup? what Camera, lamp and camera handle you use? thanks :)

inktense wood, very nice ink, brushed or airbrushed!
Where are the orks/grots that the original sloggoth kit came with? Without them this doesn't feel complete as a project :(

every youtuber has those wood and white drawers and paint holders, anyone know where they sell from ?
Hobby Zone, very good drawer system, and completely customizable :)
@@eBayMiniatureRescues thanks dude!
love it man
Attack on Titan vibes for sure
poor sloggoth having to carry that much 😔
Cool conversion idea but feels a bit wasteful of a good airship. Not a fan of the Sloggoth itself so think that part was improved, at least.
So does anyone know his eBay store so I can see these how much they go for

Very krule...
The proportions just don't work for me on this one, the Sloggoth is about 30% too small to convincingly carry several tons of metal like that.
Unless he has the strength of an ant
This is my comment to appease the great algorithm
