    This week I got the absolutely most insane donation to the channel, there was also a rather special model inside that I decided to paint up and send back as a thank you. It was kind of hard making this video, I wanted to do the model justice and say thank you in the best way I could. Not only to Jonathan and Izabelle, but to every single person who has ever watched a video of mine. From the bottom of my heart, thank you!

    Man. I don't think I'd personally be able to give it all up, that's just insanity to me, but also, I know people have things that make hobbying nearly impossible. It really puts the privelege(yes, privelege)of being able to do this hobby into a new perspective and gives me a greater appreciation of the hobby. I've barely lifted my brush since returning from vacation(also lost power for two days during a heatwave) and TBH I was on a bit of a hot streak before vacation and was worrying vainly about my skills getting rusty after 3 weeks but this type of thing shows me the meta view of things and my worries are minor and kind of conceited. I am just floored. And ready to get back at it again. 😎

    How awesome. A friend of mine, who also owned the LGS in my city, was in the process of building and painting a Tyranids army when he took his own life. That was 11 years ago. His army got sold a while back but I remember the list to a model because I had traded it to him for store credit.
    Long story short I am in the process of rebuilding it model for model, painting it the same way he started to and then donating it to the store in honor of him. He left behind a wife and 5yo son.
    Seeing you paint Noodles was inspiring.

      no worries, it's a humidifier/diffuser. I live in Nevada, in the desert. It gets pretty dry around here so I put it on to get some moisture in the air.

    Hey bud, love the vids, may I ask what type of varnishes you use? my AK interactive satin dries tacky, and messes up the oil washes

    • @eBayMiniatureRescues
      @eBayMiniatureRescues  2 роки тому +1

      You may have gotten a bad batch of AK, that's usually pretty good. I like to use Testors Gloss and Lusterless Flat if I can get any, it's tough these days, but generally I use Vallejo Gloss and MIG Matte Varnish.

    What temp do you get your sonic cleaner to for plastic models?

    • @eBayMiniatureRescues
      @eBayMiniatureRescues  2 роки тому

      I try not to go above 50C, the sonic cleaner heats up without me using the heater, and it gets pretty hot.

      Thanks! Those are Tallarn Mukaali. A forgeworld part of Astra Militarum for Warhammer 40k. Really cool models that, unfortunately, can't be played anymore.
