Lol i think it could be a problem of ur communication skill, I myself speak in my mother tongue still sounds non-sense and a bit of hesitant sometimes.

I am teaching an elderly person to speak fluently. She has already shown progess. And now wants to increase the hours of practice with me. Gives me immense satisfaction. :)

But I can't do well in public speaking. I'm jealous of other people who is confident enough to speak in front of the class with no hesitation.

@@rizwanrehmat You read a lot. I'm a fluent English speaker but I'm learning German in the Uni and speaking German is like taking my life away sometimes 😂😂
In my opinion without vocabulary knowledge expecting learning any language is delusional. Therefore we have to exceed vocabulary issue then others skills comes in order such as reading, writing, listening and speaking.
I could make up thousands of stories in my head without having to stutter or having to pause, but as soon as i start saying what i have in mind I start to speak in giberish
If you find yourself, like me, in a spot in your life where you don't have many close friends, it's okay. A lot of introverts like me would rather not go out and bother people or make new friends. Not because of some misplaced self inflicted depression, but because it's just too much. A lot of people have left me over the years, some quickly and painfully, some to just go live their own life. I know the feeling of loneliness, a breakup, or just sadness, it clenches your gut 24/7, but chin up, if I can make it through this you can too. I'm way past college, and it still happens. So we come here to heal, I think. Maybe in the future I'll come back to this comment with a happier story. Let's just heal until then
In my experience, it's important that you understand the basics of english language. Widening your vocabulary plays a big part in it. For as long as you know how to express yourself well and compose your thoughts, words will just come out naturally.
I learned English on my own, i know that I'm not fluent in speaking English with people, but my accent and my english ability is insane. Using this technique I improved my skills in speaking English like a native speaker. I just talk to myself alone HAHAHA but I know to myself that I'm not crazy because if I'm crazy then I wouldn't be here commenting this. 😅 I'm just pretending and imagining that someone is talking to me or like interviewing me and then I'll answer those possible questions, for example: someone is asking me "Why do you love Graphic Design Course?" then I'll answer that question with explanations and in that way I was training myself to speaking English all by myself.
For addition, talking to yourself alone is normal and it's good for your mental health, you are old enough to know if your crazy lol. Try to do your own research about this, take care.
You must speak with yourself at least 10 minutes a day,no miror,no specific time,no specific topic ..just you and yourself, talk even you have nothing in your mind you want to talk about, talk, force yourself to speak and do that every day,in a happy day,in a sad day,in a busy and in a free day..do that every day and don't stop. After a few weeks of doing these, you will be able to see the diffrence in your level.
wow!Is it really?It sounds magical!Speak something with myself in English everyday?But I have a question.If I say something wrong,ex grammar or vocabulary,how do I know I am wrong?Or,just to say?I don't mind what I say something wrong anyway?
I watched youtube since i was in 5th grade mainly vlogs and gamers and I was addicted in watching movies and now I'm in 8th grade, the changes were real great my Pronunciation is fluent my grammar is on point and I can spell words correctly and most of all i can communicate with english speakers. And weirdly I can do accents by myself like British, Australian etc. with only watching a video of a person speaking it. (I'm from the Philippines)
Shealtiel Majadas I suggest just watch and listen carefully on how they pronounce the words, kasi tayong mga pilipino madiin sa dila kapag nageenglish tayo kaya dapat try mo lang maging fluent tapos irelax mo yung dila mo. Pero ito yung ginawa ko para magimprove ako: kapag may binibigkas sila na bagong word or bagong tunog na narinig ko gagayahin ko lang ng gagayahin hanggang maperfect ko. Pero it takes time kasi eh tsaka kung gusto mo talagang gawin yung isang bagay gagaling at gagaling ka rin. Good luck sayo
buti ka pa. kaya ko mag accent pero wrong grammar ako. kaya nga nanunood ako ng mga vlogs na foreigner kasi para makatulong. namemental block kasi ako.
I scrolled through the comments and felt kinda nostalgic because I used to have the same struggle. I'm from Malaysia and English isn't my first language. I could read and write but when it came to speaking I struggled so hard then I joined this discord server with members that came from all over the world- Netherlands, Czech Republic, USA, Canada, even Japan and we would occasionally do group voice calls while playing games. I was struggling to join in the conversation because the words that I was searching for just wouldn't come. When I finally got what I wanted to say, they already moved to the new topics so what I wanted to say was no longer valid 😂 Then I got close to this one friend from the US, also the member of the DC server and asked him to help with my English. I gotta admit my speaking skills improve a lot after knowing him for more than a year. If he's not around (due to the 12hours difference) I would talk to myself in English, like you know, what's the plan for today etc. So for those who are still struggling to speak in English, keep on speaking the language and make yourself familiar with it! Then you can start with the accent. Goodluck 🤗✨
when your talking normally in school: 'May I go to the bathroom?' but then your teacher says 'I can't hear you, can you speak a little louder?' me: 'AH ah- u- can I pls go to t- da bafroom?'
same thing happened to me once and i got scared so instead of saying "Ma'am can i go to the washroom?" i said, "ma'am can i go to drink washroom" lol. so embarrassing
I can write, read and even speak with a few mistakes with my friends and siblings. I have never tried to speak with my teachers but, I am so confident with teachers as well. I have never thought about my mistakes and spoke as much as I could. It took me 8 months for improving it up to this level. I am 100% sure that after 3 months my English will be fluent without any mistake.

This is the first time in my life that I am commenting on some random English speaking UA-cam video. I am an Indian who recently moved to the USA and trying to find a job. My English is level basic. However, I am finding it very difficult to understand and talk in interviews. And it's just not the interview, but I even hesitate to speak when I go to some restaurant or any coffee bars. I am an extrovert person but because of this fear that people might make fun of my English, I don't talk much and ask my husband to do/talk everything on my behalf. I want to be confident in speaking and expressing my thoughts like I use to do in my country.
Hello Ma'am, glad to see your comment. I am a student from your country(hope you're from India). I would love to get one of my doubts elucidated from you. You have commented that you've recently moved to the US, in search of a job. My doubt is regarding IELTS. Is it necessary to pass IELTS to go abroad? I've just shortened my doubt to this. If you are replying to me, I would be so much grateful and would like to know more from you. Thanking you in advance.
I'm a Japanese student, and I'm studying English. I found this video when I was looking for a way to become able to speak English. This video is very nice and easy to understand. I will practice right away.
Well! I have seen all comments below and noticed many people are complaining about their speaking skills and asking how to improve and sharing their experiences. Well I'm an esl teacher, as a teacher I'd suggest everybody to take any simpl English book and try to read out loudly every day for approx 20 to 25 minutes. I'm sure you are gon'na ask me why it's important well I think you will have different ideas by doing this firstly you will improve your reading skills, secondly you will improve your fluency and more importantly you will build you vocabulary too.
This also applies to other languages, guys, DW, but problem is, you fear people around you from mocking you, we are just nice people, kind hearted and sensitive people, that's why it is hard to speak fluently in public, but if we were rude and mean, we wouldn't care and we would speak fluently in public, but we are the better people, so repeat that to yourself. And be confident, one love to who made the video because he changed our way to practice any language the perfect way, and all the love for everyone here in the comment section, be strong, brothers and sisters, and if you need a hug of confidence, I will do it for you.
"To be confident in speaking English is actually one of the hardest part especially if you are surrounded by people who are perfectly imperfect 😂 You guys know what it means 😂 Edited: thank you guys 😘 Especially those WHO ARE PERFECTLY IMPERFECT HUMAN BEING.
Here are the main ideas if you don't have much time • Watch a story video and retell the story sentence by sentence in the third person (he, she, it...) • (advanced) watch the full story video and summarize the main points in your language (you can outline while watching), using linking words, sign words (firstly, then, so...) Hope it helps you guys And you guys, to quickly improve a skill, we must practice something difficult
Born in America and speaking English fluently, I wondered what non-speakers' perspective of English was like. I'm currently learning Japanese and can actually apply these tips to it too. The way you(content creator) stressed your words was very natural sounding:)
I was born in Zambia and English is my native language due to it being the first I learnt. I grew up speaking "Zambian English" which is simply a combination of words from the English language and words from vernacular languages. Eventually, I started training myself to speak a more international style of English and of course this affected my accent.
A while ago, I read a book about the fastest way to speak fluent English. It concludes to be just speaking. Many of us have learned English in high school throug different aspects; grammar, writing, listening, enlarging vocubalary. However, by just doing all these things, the brain has a hard job to connect all these dots to one entirety when speaking. That’s why understanding is way much easier than speaking. By speaking it as much as possible, your brain undergoes some processes which concludes in thinking in English. That is the keypoint to speak English fluently.
I’m 22 this year. But many things that I lacking in my life. At the same time, I have many plan I want to succeed in my life. One of the list things that I want to succeed is excellent in improving my english speaking & vocabs.
I have started talking to myself in english every day and my speaking english skills have improved, btw :) Also, since then i have started thinking in english. it is pretty cool. i can see my progress! If u want to study some language more deeply, u have to practice in speaking every single day! E.g. imagine being blogger and describe ur actions. Promise, u will find some new words u didnt know before. Then it will be much easier for u to talk to native speakers about some daily things.
Hello, I don't face much problems in understanding or writing in english but while speaking I become terribly conscious and fear that if I am not able to deliver a proper speech or cannot make others understand what I am trying to explain, others may judge me. Thank you for giving ideas of practicing english alone 😊
When I started watching the video, I was in the English learning mood and I was in fact using the same technique you just introduced. I figured it out as soon as you said "how to improve your English speaking skills alone" it is ironical
It's a great to motivate everyone 😊 mostly people can understand English speaking but they don't try to speak because of the lack of confidence so let's try to speak an English speaking with each other
Earlier my problem was that I could write in English but not speak and then my friend suggested me to talk english in front of mirror which will boost your confidence and remove you hesitation and then i started and it did wonder. And then After sometime when results came out positive i started speaking with my friends and cousins. Now i can speak in front of everyone. So just want to say speak with yourself it will give positive results..
Me when I’m alone: Speaks with correct grammar, isnt awkward and doesnt mumble words in sentences Me talking to someone physically: *Speaks like I’m a toddler trying to pronounce the most simple words*
The problems that make me not able to speak when i'm trying to speak but suddenly i lose all my vocabularies in my own brain and confused what should i speak akskskksjdjd😭✌
I don’t know if I’m the only one, but when I’m taking to myself, everything is great. In the other hand if I try to talk with friends, I just get nervous and I can’t continue
If you don't have anybody to speak with, well even if you have such person, I'd strongly recommend to record yourself while speaking or retelling stuff. Then listen to yourself and you will finally be able to see the most persistent mistakes in grammar, intonation and lexicon and to be mindful of them during the next speaking session. It's like becoming your own tutor. However unpleasant for some the experience of listening their own voice may be, it has proven to be the most effective tactics for many people.

As someone who's usually referred to as the "smart one" in the class, and who usually becomes the narrator in roleplaying, I too suffer from having anxiety when speaking English despite believing at the same time that I am good at it. This is usually cause of low self esteem and the overthinking aspect of speaking someone else's language and the possibility of being mocked by those who know better. This feeling then makes us worry and feel so little and vulnerable thus our fear of actually speaking it casually.

I'll try this. Through I think it's not as good as learning with english-speaking partner. No one will correct your mistakes, so it will take a lot of time to improve.
Retelling is one of the most powerful concepts one can use to boost his/her speaking skills. I use it very often by combining it with the habit of learning something new. I pick a concept that I want to learn, I listen to YT videos and podcasts about that concept. Then I explain the things I learned. This is how I both improve my speaking skills and become wiser. A great concept and comprehensible video. Thanks for that!
I've read your thoughts about practicing on how to speak in English. I really loved the idea that while you were giving those tips you were also giving words of wisdom for us to strive more and believe on ourselves that we can do it. I'm glad that I watched this video, It was a big help for me and thank you for that. I won't stop LEARNING 😊

May let u give up when the success begin grown up . But with the conflicts with the hardest we can servive and reach our goals nevertheless what category we choose
If you have the motivation and consistency to use English as one of your defined 2nd language it can surely boost your confidence. Speaking is one of the hardest way to apply when it comes to learning English ; Therefore . when speaking english try to see the anatomy of speech by native English speakers like the placement of the words in your tongue , throat etc. Americans tend to have a low pitch ; thus using their lower throat to produce a sound as a system of speaking words can be helpful for you to imitate the accent and what not. Also listening is a vital key element that we can do a lot for us to have knowledge and ideas that we can learn to mimic and readjust ourselves to learn the language per se. To have the confidence and not be afraid to speak English even though our grammar lapses can be mistaken will boost our ability to speak spontaneously.
its based on my experience, i learned english by myself like watching youtube or movies, my grammar isn’t perfect but at least know past and present so dont focus on that. first i learn a vocabulary like 20 words in day (must be consistent) then everytime i watch a movie first i was using subtitles then in a few month i didnt using it at all (its help us on listening), and talking to myself with english. first i was embarrassed to talk with someone in english lol then it getting used to it and thats so improve my english till i fluent now
I'm a 10th standard student and I'm not well in English and for my higher studies l can't avoid English because of the language used in everywhere is English but my one of the favourite language is English because of l think it's little simple to study and l never studied English from Textbook but l secretly studied English from cartoons like Heidi and books like Adventurer of Tom Sayer and l say now l can talk simple english because of only that and my school books never helped me for improving my English skills and in school we are studying English for just an exam but I'm studying English for to achieve my dreams but there are so many struggles and Thanks for this video and it was very useful for me.
One Tip : If you need to be fluent in English, or any other language, And you've got no one to practice with...Start by "Thinking" in that language...Whenever you think about some topic try to think in that language. I know thag sounds kinda weird but that really works. P.S. - Though I'm not that good in English still I'm trying to Improve my speaking skills using this method and I think it works
Speaking is my worst beast in studying English, I`m afraid of it way more than writing, listening, doing tests, etc, despite I had been practicing it for a long time:( Thank you for the video... Improving my speaking skills is one of the biggest aims for this year
These are some great tips - thank you for your video! I think many people's problem is that they don't have the opportunity to practice with native speakers, so it's good to know other exercises to help you improve.
This is a ver nice way to practice , a common problem when studying English is that we don’t have a partner to practice , this video makes refenrece to an excellent technique we can use to improve our speaking and quick thinking speed , sometimes occurs that you know the right vocabulary but words doesn’t come to your mind .. I really hate when that happens
same feelings here. when I speak english alone it looks like i can literally have the guts to move to america where i now confidently understand their language BUT when I start to speak with people, I am like my mind starts to find the perfect words to describe what I wanted to say. Lol
When I studied English in my country, the local teacher and the class understood each other very well. Then, when we had a native-speaking teacher, the teacher understood ME but not the rest of the class. The explanation is that I had previously learnt how to pronounce English sounds by myself using some vinyl records from Berlitz in the 80's. At that time, I used to imitate the sounds I heard over and over. Then I studied phonetics at home using the Pronunciation Pairs Program by Cambridge University Press. Not only was I good at imitating words, but also imitating laughter. My family thought I was going crazy. Then, in an institute, I used to ask the native teacher questions with no doubt at all, without fear. The rest of the class were shy because they weren't understood by the teacher. The problem I saw is that local teachers don't care about students' pronunciation; they focus on the written English only. They meet a schedule and the tests were paper-based tests. English Pronunciation is very, very difficult if you don't practice if from the very beginning. For example: When we say I MISS YOU, by saying this expression word by word sounds different from saying it together; the /s/ sound in MISS turns into a /sh/ sound. The object YOU is often reduced too. It sounds like /i∆/. The other tip ti get fluency is to make questions from everything you see. For example, if you see a calendar on the wall depicting a woman dancing, you could make questions like these: what is the woman wearing? Is she dancing alone? Does she like dancing? Is she good at dancing? Who does this woman look like? Additionally, you could draw a pair of clocks on the calendar showing different hours and then you can ask: how long has she been dancing? And the answer depends on you, too. Some americans think I learnt English in the U.S. Well, I was several times in the U.S. but only in my dreams.....if only we could make of life what in dreams. Good luck.
Thanks for sharing your story. Forming questions based on the things around you is what I used to do as well. It was such a good sentence building exercise.

How to improve English vocabulary words?

You read a lot.

So agree with this...
How so?
@@ezuwina0330 yeah so do i
Nice Advice
What do you mean by understanding the basics? Do you mean knowing grammar rules?
I talk to myself all the time and I'm not even trying to learn a language.
Your approach really inspired me . And can I get more tips for me ??
I definitely agree. It's such a small hack that can work wonders if we keep practicing. Thank you so much for your recommendation! 😊
Exactly what Mr Ibrahim Adel has said 😉
@@naroben9308 you are right.this method helps me a lot.So i want to share it with others.

Tipani-Pink- Monster can you teach me of how to improve my english skills? btw im from Philippines too
Shealtiel Majadas I suggest just watch and listen carefully on how they pronounce the words, kasi tayong mga pilipino madiin sa dila kapag nageenglish tayo kaya dapat try mo lang maging fluent tapos irelax mo yung dila mo. Pero ito yung ginawa ko para magimprove ako: kapag may binibigkas sila na bagong word or bagong tunog na narinig ko gagayahin ko lang ng gagayahin hanggang maperfect ko. Pero it takes time kasi eh tsaka kung gusto mo talagang gawin yung isang bagay gagaling at gagaling ka rin. Good luck sayo
+Tipani-Pink- Monster You must be in the call center industry, I guess.
buti ka pa. kaya ko mag accent pero wrong grammar ako. kaya nga nanunood ako ng mga vlogs na foreigner kasi para makatulong. namemental block kasi ako.

When I finally got what I wanted to say, they already moved to the new topics so what I wanted to say was no longer valid 😂
Then I got close to this one friend from the US, also the member of the DC server and asked him to help with my English.
Goodluck 🤗✨
How can I join that server?

This is the first time in my life that I am commenting on some random English speaking UA-cam video.
I am an Indian who recently moved to the USA and trying to find a job. My English is level basic. However, I am finding it very difficult to understand and talk in interviews. And it's just not the interview, but I even hesitate to speak when I go to some restaurant or any coffee bars. I am an extrovert person but because of this fear that people might make fun of my English, I don't talk much and ask my husband to do/talk everything on my behalf. I want to be confident in speaking and expressing my thoughts like I use to do in my country.

Born in America and speaking English fluently, I wondered what non-speakers' perspective of English was like. I'm currently learning Japanese and can actually apply these tips to it too. The way you(content creator) stressed your words was very natural sounding:)
How was hour learning with this advice?

These are some great tips - thank you for your video! I think many people's problem is that they don't have the opportunity to practice with native speakers, so it's good to know other exercises to help you improve.
Would you kindly be willing to add me on skype so I can practice my english? only 30 minutes every now and then would be more than enough.
