  • Put simply, escrow and title officers need you! They cannot do their job without you!
    The biggest push back I get when I say this is, “don’t escrow and officers already have a notary signing agent they work with!?”
    Of course they do... they were in business before you approached them.
    But I can't stress this enough: no matter how close of a relationship they have with a notary loan signing agent, that notary can only be at one appointment at a time. And escrow officers have appointments throughout the entire day day.
    In other words, the notary they have a relationship with cannot be at every single one of their signings… it’s physically impossible!
    So when those other appointments occur, the escrow officer needs another signing agent to fill the job!
    ANDDDDD on top of that, notaries gets sick, go on vacation, move, retire, work for multiple escrow officers, or decide to work only certain times because of changes in their family schedule.
    And this is exactly why an escrow officer needs 5 to 10 notaries in their rolodex at all times!!
    Escrow officers literally have to have a constant reliable stable of signing agents!

    Hi Mark, thank you for sharing this information. I have a question regarding the logistics of working with escrow directly. So let's say they decide to work with me; do I go to the escrow office every day in the morning to pick up a file, do the singing and bring it back, then they give me another file? Will they usually have business around that area? I mean, do most escrow offices usually service/process files for their own community or do they have files for home that are really far?

      they send file to you through app or email...with a secure platform. You print docs out and take to location of borrower and get them signed. The escrow should provide return label if not local... but if local you could drop them off... you want escrow companies that do bussiness in your area... but the escrow company doesnt have to be in those areas to do business with you...Hope this helps

      Hi! yes it does, but in full transparency, you can also pass it by reading the "Signing Agent Code of Conduct" which you can google! The NNA focuses on what we cant do as a signing agent which is super valuable!

    Hi Mark, I'm currently experiencing (in April 2021) that even the Title Escrow Officers are sending assignments through Snapdocs for a very low few. What's going on with this?! How do combat that??? (Do you have a video that addresses this?) Thanks so much!

    What is the difference between your course and the NNA(National Notary Assoication).? I'm trying to weigh which course to take.

      NNA only focuses on notary things. What is a jurat? It’s all theoretical and only requires the very base knowledge of being a notary. You won’t even know how to properly notarize a document by the end of its training. It’s mostly only good for the NNA certification, which is pretty much a MUST have and MUST renew every year.
      The LSS will teach you how to be a loan signing agent, is not a necessary credential, but EXTREMELY applicable. It goes into detail what you will see in loan documents and how to have people fill them out. It gives you marketing strategies to grow your business. It gives you one of the most positive peer groups on Facebook both in local areas and nationwide.
      My recommendation. You need to do the NNA as part of the qualifier, and you need LSS for your education, and daily support.

    Hi Mark! How long should I work as a notary public before becoming a notary signing agent?

      honestly-id just get your notary commission and jump right in.
      understand there are 150 pages of loan docs (more or less) and there are only 4-5 (on average) documents that need to be actually notarized.
      as long as you know how to properly ID someone and fill out your states acknowledgments and jurats-you are good to go!
      being a notary has very little to do with the skill set of being a signing agent!
      ill teach the skill set you need to be a successful signing agent!
