  • Today, I have the pleasure of hosting the remarkable Alli Webb as we delve into her journey to becoming a successful entrepreneur. Alli is a New York Times Bestselling author and the co-founder of Drybar, a company that revolutionized the hairstyling industry and sold for $255 million.
Alli and I explore the messy truth about starting something new - whether it’s a business or a relationship. We also discuss the importance of intuition, recognizing red flags, and balancing personal life with professional life. Remember that sometimes, we won’t always have the ‘perfect ending’ in our stories, and that’s okay.
    In this interview we’ll discuss:
    00:00 Intro
    02:50 Success Is Messy
03:55 The Truth About Starting A Business
05:55 Anyone Can Be An Entrepreneur

    25:31 Making Your Idea Work
    27:21 Dealing With Potential Failure

For Ali to be as successful as she is, she feels like the friend and the kitchen table. So honest and humble with her failures and successes.

I love her. Thank you, Jay for allowing her to be her chatterbox genuine self! So many interviewers want to give their opinions, ask questions that they want to answer and never let people fully process out loud. You are exceptional at doing this for your guests. And I respect the heck out of you for doing so.!❤

I love how much people seem to be enjoying this conversation. She seems pretty genuine to me. We often watch Jay to hear what experts have to say. Alli is more down to earth. It’s a nice break from that tone. More organic. It’s great to hear a more regular person’s story. I especially love the idea that you follow small steps to success. It’s refreshing to hear about mistakes too.

Ali - wow. I really commend you. You could have easily came on here and tried to save face. I’m sure you know so many owners and celebrities and people who appear perfect. But, let me just say - I hope you don’t go home and regret how honest you were…because, it really only made your company shine even more. It made you so relatable. Trust me, we ALL get it !!! Especially you bringing up your son’s drug struggles. Many parents understand that but don’t bring it up. And, for someone who is use to being in control - it really is a situation that reminds you to surrender. I know you mentioned spirituality but for you, I really do pray that you are introduced to Christ. He is the ultimate healer. And, I’m really proud of your strength and transparency. This was a really really really great interview and you reminded us what it’s like to be human. You’re not alone.

This was a great podcast that I needed to hear right at this moment. The openness about her divorce especially in a situation where I am going through a second divorce and feeling exactly the way that she is feeling in regards to the embarrassment the one for it to work and all of the emotions that I was a failure hit home so hard for me. But I'm also starting to feel that push to be a better me to focus on the things that I could have done better versus trying to make the relationship work that clearly was not meant to be. As I've had these ah ha moments multiple times listening to the podcast this one really hit home for me. Thank you for all you do and the amazing kiss that you continuously have on that provide a wealth of knowledge for us to be the best that we can be in any situation.

I'm so grateful to have come across this video. I'm actually reading your book at the moment 'Think like a monk' which I am absolutely ingrossed in.
My name is Ari, I am a mother and an entrepreneur. I have a small cleaning business and a few
side hustles making upcycled jewellery and freelance graphic design work. I also have a massive passion for writing and singing songs which I have worked on with a music producer in the past but lost the momentum when covid hit. I have such a creative passion for my side hustles the reward for me is the fact that people want my product. The money is just a bonus. I am really in my dharma when I am creating. Hours just pass me by when I'm in my happy place but I still feel like I want to achieve more especially as a singer/songwriter but I feel like I'm in stagment mode. HELP!

54:15 Alli I can promise you that if you would have had the conversation, it’s still would not have worked out bc it did not work out, and someone wasn’t interested enough in having that conversation and it takes two so I would feel confident that it would not have worked out regardless. Don’t torture yourself by giving him the benefit of the doubt because it’ll just get added up with a bunch of other things later that make you unhappy when ur having a down day. Just scratch it from your coulda woulda shoulda list right now and don’t go back!
