These are great. Very hard for me to start really feeling the second stretch at the top of my left shoulder and it got quite warm. I've stopped but I'll go back to the first stretch. Would you say it would be best to see a physio for the issue or a different type of help?
Happy to hear it was helpful for you. As for the help, it depends whether the pain comes form the muscle tightness or nerve pinching, but definitely worth checking it with professional help if it doesn't release with a time and stretch.

That's awesome. Absolutely - a few times 30 sec is a great way to build endurance. Then you can do 35 sec on the first, and go down to 30 after. Focusing on deep exhales really helps. The mind and body then stay more relaxed. Keep me updated how it goes!! Happy shoulder opening!!
This helped me like REALLY HELPED ME. I did this exercises for 2 weeks straight and stayed for 5 minutes then after that 2 weeks, I can already do my backbends with a proper form.

This is a very good lesson on how we want our shoulders to be while practicing yoga and how to stretch the shoulders to train them to where we want them to be.I will put this in my routine and see if i see results! Already feeling a nice stretch :)
Keep the tailbone tucked under. Pull your belly a bit inward, and take the easier version to begin with. i can see how this is great as a shoulder opener but in the last variation the lumbar suffers as it leads to jamming together the vertebrae in the lower spine as the wall obviously inhibits the chest from drawing forward. I suggest to just stick to the first 2 variations. More intensity? Simply place the hands higher on the wall.
It depends how flexible you are, however it is not a backbend focus exercise but a shoulder stretch so your middle chest and belly can be grounded, try not to lean your head on the wall.

You can start doing this standing and slowly increase the time of hold before yo go down to the ground. It is normal to feel some tingeling in the hand. You can always release, and do again the next day.

So we push our shoulders towards the floor to get a stretch in the armpits. Should we push into the wall too, or just down towards the floor?
Engage both directions, however be mindful to find the right effort between being in the stretch with calm breath and "pushing".
